So the teams look like this:
Pakistan 1 Imran Farhat, 2 Salman Butt, 3 Azhar Ali, 4 Umar Amin, 5 Umar Akmal, 6 Shahid Afridi, 7 Kamran Akmal (wk), 8 Mohammad Aamer, 9 Umar Gul, 10 Danish Kaneria, 11 Mohammad Asif.
Australia 1 Shane Watson, 2 Simon Katich, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Clarke, 5 Michael Hussey, 6 Marcus North, 7 Tim Paine (wk), 8 Steven Smith, 9 Mitchell Johnson, 10 Ben Hilfenhaus, 11 Doug Bollinger.

Big risk with having two debutants batting back to back in the batting order.

Only 5 batters plus Afridi, with 2 making their debut. Very risky! Obviously winning the toss in these conditions is positive. This could play out like Sydney....but the pitch is good.

Both have to play themselves into the team, one will preform i guess.

We have not got YK and yousaf so somebody will have to bat there they can make names for themselves.

what did ponting said on the toss ?

Ponting would have bowled first too. He said it would be tough out there.

Pak bowlers really need to hit their straps quickly. Im not sure if Asif has played test cricket at Lords, Gul has.

Kamran is playing as a specialist batter...and a backstop.

Averages 40 in the last five years.

Why? Why do the Aussies always have to have a headsttart!

Its a sad indictment on our system when the best batter we can produce as a nation( and thats what your openers should be) is someone called Farhat

why Shoaib Malik was omitted?
There was a report that said it's because Malik skipped some training sessions to spend time with Sania.

Tricky little period for the Ausies, 1 hour to survive before lunch.

True. They've got the chance to make a name for themselves. I would have rather had Umar Akmal come at 4 but let's see how this pans out... :inzi

Hey, I just realized that there was no scheduled loadshedding from 3pm - 4pm today

who says Pakistanis don't care about test cricket :Zardari

pakistan have less bowling option than aussiess..... :(

The bowlers have to hit the ground running. Have to keep it tight and let the conditions do the work. no long hops and wides

Right lets hope our bowlers can pitch the ball up and get the ball in right areas and fielders take their catches.

:))

Having won the toss pakistan need to look for atleast 2/3 wickets before lunch here!

If we are to get anything out of this game itllbe because of our bowling, have no hope what so ever from our batsmen

11.45am This should be very interesting first up. The Lord's pitch is generally very friendly to the batsmen but with dense cloud and moisture around there should be plenty for Pakistan's quicks early on. Asif, Aamer and Gul together should be a handful. Will Pakistan hold their catches :akmal ?

Sydney's left such a deep scar on me, I really can't see us winning batting second.

tensports is **** .......
Tell me about it. They're still showing the highlights from the second shitty-20. Hate missing out on the pre match analysis. Stupid SOBs didn't even show the toss. Wanted to hear what the two captains had to say. Does anyone have a link to a Sky Sports stream? I've been up for the last 21 hours and these delays have run my patience extremely thin. Probably won't be able to deal with an ad interrupting an over or something similar.

Holding asks Rameez why pakistan are inconsistent and Ramees gives the most pathetic explanation...How about 'ad hoc' system, non elected chairman, non existence of proper selectors etc etc...

Anyway, I'm getting really excited!!!!! The shivering has begun

Fair bit of grass on the pitch. It will burn off if the sun comes out but there will be plenty of help for Asif and co.

Shame its not a 2 hr session - we lose 40 mins when the ball could be doing something

Afridi sems to be a very nice person, since he has become captain, all the youngsters are starting to enjoy themselves, god bless them all.

Are you back in Pak or still in Caerdydd?

Is Malik in the ground, or is he in bed?

well now we know why Malik was in such a mood in Leicestershire - perhaps he was told that he wasnt playing or that he was competing with Azhar Ali!!!

Intresting to see which bowlers get which ends and how they handle the Lord slope!

That's surprising. Rameez is usually quite open about his views on pre-game/post-game shows. He's mentioned the inconsistencies of selection and management on Geo Super over and over. I don't like the guy either, but he obviously cares about the side. I think he's a little daunted during commentary, which results in some of the farcical comments he makes.

whoaaaaaa soooo exited :D :D :D

we will win this one, Insha Allah

I am quite confident guys, past is past. there is always a new day :)
I know we have said that thousands of times, but I don't care! can't wait for the game to start!

I thought the game was tomorrow, but checked cricinfo when I woke up found out it was in 30 minutes times, been glued to sky sports ever since. typical my luck that the screen freezes moments before the toss, so missed it. took a big ***** instead

now I am ready 10 minutes left for mohammad aamer to isteeaaam innn :D

ramiz is a hater. shane warne and that other guy are praising us, but that guy is always criticizing. we gonna wiiiin :D

Pakistan Zindabad!
feel like a girl. dont care

JEETEGHA BHAI JEETEGHA. 5 DIN KE BAAD PAKISTAN JEETEGHA! :D

Yeah, and we can bat in this weather, Right?
COME On a-f,you know we arent mentally equipped to chase anything. But on thr other hand, I understand the logic behind that decision as it would have been unfair to put the two debutants under pressure by making them bat in difficult conditions
So,in the end best of luck to the team!:afridi

Well everyone, I'm off to catch the live action from the comfort of my sisters bedroom

Will make a quick cup of tea and enjoy a hotdog along side that :inzi

See you guys at the other end of this session

Good luck :pkflag

Would say Asif from the Nursery and I guess Amir to open from the Pavilion.

My little bro is watching cartoon...ill have to follow the commentary :(

This Sky Sports coverage seems to get me hyped up for anything. Pakistan really need a 20 year contract of all home and away games to be shown on Sky Sports.
