When you're faced with a target of 377 just to make Pakistan bat again with 3 days to get a result batsmen tend to do stupid things. It's the mental side of cricket.

I think that you ate up enough time to save the game though. They will probably have to enforce the follow on, or if not they will waste 2 sessions piling up more needless runs to make the game safe. Which will leave you a day to bat to save the game.
