That was a poor shot from Faisal - far too many ugly shots in this innings BUT he scored the runs and ultimately thats what counts

Lets hope this isnt the start of a collapse

This 67 wasn't convincing though. Like McIntosh's. Too many lives. I guess he's still learning.

Faisal has done his bit. Can't exactly expect big centuries from him, really. Well done, Faisal boy!

Have a look at Cricinfo's commentary -

Umar Akmal walks out

114.6 Martin to Misbah-ul-Haq, no run, full ball outside off is crunched to mid-off

:)))

What is this. Umar Akmal walks out and Misbah bats.

Can someone confirm who is the new man in?

Understandable, but I don't like how every time we have a chance to capitalize, we lose a wicket.

Btw, is the skysport.nz link working yet?

Misbah should've walked out... save Umar Akmal for the last boom boom.

no, still not loading

I think this diamond(Bhanja) needs to be passed on to Sheeda Mochi for impeccable polish.

Look at this gem...

Chrys Gaile from Jamaica: "When facing Daniel Vettori it's like a left handed version of me bowling to myself. He hardly ever spins the ball." Cheeky. Comparing Vettori to Hauritz now are we?
:))) :)))

Oh, no ! Faisal gone :(

Never mind. Rome was not build in a day !
True. But will the public understand?

Reminds me of the politician who was complaining that the public was still after his blood even after he had accepted their demands. The following conversation ensued:

His friend: But you just accepted those demands yesterday. You can't expect calves running around the field the day you mate your cows with a bull.

Politician: True, but is it too much to expect contented cows?
:))

its cloudy so that will help nz fast bowlers. Pak batsmen have to be careful. Another 100 runs partnership needed...

I think he wont be required in the 2nd inns,so he'll remain a failure and should be replaced for Fawad Alam in the Boxing Day Test..:)
Looks like he will be required today! Big test here for him!

I hope Aamer gets his test 50 on this pitch.

I am waiting for the day when Aamer improves on this 3 wickets in an innings...

He is playing his sixth test and has yet to take a 4fer, leave along a 5fer...

At least we saved the embarrassment of innings defeat. Now need to bat sensibly for the rest of the day. A lead of 120 for 3/4 by day's end will be terrific.

match will draw

i can see dani boy ripping through NZ batting

we have about 122 overs left

play 55 overs and give NZ 67 overs to bat

I think we can do it

First goal should be to play out the remaining 25+ overs without losing a wicket, make 70 odd runs, extend the lead to 100.

And them tomorrow play according to the situation. The priority is to draw the match.

Let's see if we can survive another 50 overs and score 200

I think MoYo will be really conservative, so ideally it will be best if we just got out around lunch time tomorrow for a score of 250-300 to chase, it would give Kaneria, Asif and co a decent crack at Kiwis.

if we get the lead of 250-300 before lunch. NZ will crumble in two sessions

but I can trust :umarakmal!!
I actually read cricinfo, and thought it was Misbah who came in. My bad.
Hopefully these two can play out to end of day's play. That will make it a perfect day for Pakistan!
