salman butt misses another catch... if only fawad alam was there

cricinfo:

Umar Gul to Dilshan, FOUR, dropped, a chance gone begging, full outside off stump, Dilshan gets a touch forward and slices it towards point where Salman Butt fails to cup a sharp chance, the ball flicks his fingers on its way to the point boundary

I don't think even Alam would have taken that bullet...

Long run up, skiddish in that it is not extravagant bounce. Having a think about it, the bowler he reminds me most of is Akhtar. Without the elbow thing and without the low hold on the ball going into delivery stride.
Pretty smooth action now - it was not smooth when I saw him v the Zimboks.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. Skiddish like Akhtar, hmmmm.

atleast 10kph slower though... hopefully he'll do good with his current pace.

what a try by yunis chha gaya

ohh dropped by Younis.. that would have been the catch of the century if he took it...

he almost plucked it out of the sky ala Collingwood style

we can't blame Younis at all there.. I am amazed he even got his hand on it...

We've had about 2 drops per match this series - that's 2 wicket opportunities we don't take. Australia and South Africa are dominant because they don't let those go. Really need to do something about this terminal problem

Cricinfo should do one of their statistic features on drop catches and how it effects win%.
Back to my point, South Africa and Aus are so good because they create wickets out of nothing with excellent fielding. Catches that wouldn't even be considered chances, they take.

This is excellent bowling, just not backed up by the fielders. Good attempt by Younis though.

Not Akhtar type pace no. But he is the same sort of bowler if that makes sense, the type of bowler than Shoaib is a really fast version of.

But there looks to be enough pace there and the other good thing is he looks like he could bowl all day.

thats what he's really famous for in domestic games... keeps at it from one end. good observation dude.

19/0 - down the track and missed it totally - just one run

20/0 after 7 - good tight bowling by pak opening bowlers but no wicket

Tight start by Pak. Apart from that drop, good going. Good squeeze!

Sohail Khan continues - Pak doing well after losing toss - cloud cover

2.79/over

20/0

Lets listen to adnan sami for a while now.

kaisay kaisoon ko diya hay...

Aisay waisoon ko diya hay...

mujh ko bhee dilaya...

mujh ko ik wicket diladay...

Can I make a comment here... that stupid commercial is really ticking me off.. that guy needs to get off of those drugs that are making him high like that ...

20/0 now in 7.2 overs - not able to hit Sohail is jaya

Groundsman says that pitch is a 250 wicket not a 300+ - seems like it

Very good bowling!

Dhilshan and Jaya are getting frustrated. Some more pressure and they will crack.

and only one POTW WINS 1

You must be afridi's fan.

the change to Afridiness was made after my 5000th post so that's not the reason.. I just fall under the radar like RAO...

Dont diss King. He's one of the best young posters on here.

Waqar calls Cork "Mate" :))

21/0 in 7.5 now - Sohail doing a great job

Sphail Khan deliveries hit the bat hard, with a thud. Good prospect. Seems to be hurrying the SL batters.

Quick single to Dilshan

22/0 after 8 overs - no wicket but frustration round the corner for SL openers

Cmon Pka take you catches now.

Just kidding king, dont get all :rao on me

Shail Khan is quick enough, the ball is hitting Akmals glove hard and around shoulder/chest high.

down the pitch comes dilshan but to no real effect - single only

23/0 in 8.2

Seems like loosing toss was blessing in disguise. Conditions seem to favour bowling.

23/0 after 8.4 - miss by Jaya against Rao - wow what a performance - what were you guys complaining about?

Jayasuria not in touch today. Either a good news for Pakistan or very very bad one.

is it a seaming pitch ?

Not particularly I would say the over head conditions are playing more of part. Good thing is that there is decent bounce and pace. I reckon when the sun comes out it will be easier to bat.

pitch got some carry, shoaib should have been given chance here
