Uganda require another 191 runs with 7 wickets and 11.2 overs remaining

Somebody better point this out to the Ugandan batsmen!

this is Pak v Uganda commentary thread. I'd appreciate it if your comments were related to this match.

I've already deleted several of your posts in this thread.

thanks

This is taking forever Uganda batting is feeling like watching test cricket

17.6 Shoaib Malik to Kibukamusoke, OUT, easy chance at silly mid off just spooned to him
JI Kibukamusoke c Younis Khan b Shoaib Malik 9 (21b 0x4 1x6) SR: 42.85

666666

sweep slog to deep mid wicket of the bowling of Afridi

6/74 5 balls left

well pakistan have crushed uganda really bad but i was dissapointed with imran nazir he got out for a golden duck and then he dropped a catch

but hopefully he can play better next time

Terrific batting performance. Mediocre bowling performance. We shouldn't have allowed Uganda to play the full 20 overs. Asif was unable to get quick wickets and Arafat didnt bowl too well either. Gul and Rao were the only ones coming out of this with any credit

There is an over-reliance on Shoaib here. These guys had it extremely easy today against a team that was willing to just play defensively. When they step into the ground with the big boys, who will be itching to tear them apart, I dunno how they will fare

You can't really judge all this by following a game on cricinfo. As for 'allowing Uganda to play the full 20 overs'......probably a good thing. For one i seriously doubt anyone was bowling at full throttle and secondly in terms of match practice, to be out there for 20 overs, which more than likely we will be against India and the other big teams......this was a good thing.

I wouldn't say an over-reliance on Shoaib. We don't even know if he will last 3 balls before limping off so I can't see anyone relying on him. How will we fare against the big boys? Only time will tell.

Well, Bangladesh can hardly be called one of the big boys but they're definitely bigger boys than Uganda, so that should be a good test. They've come a long way though as demonstrated today by handling Kenya fairly easily.

On a more tactical level, what I can gather is that if we lose an early wicket, we'll send in Kamran Akmal, and if there are five of six overs to go, in comes Shahid Afridi. Another thing is that I think they will save Shoaib Malik for a collapse or maybe Misbah because they didn't get a chance to bat. Lawson did say they will try out strategies during these games and so far, that's what I can see so far.
