Hopefully we get them out before 3rd session

Bravo would be the key man for WI. Don't think I can say the same for Samuel, though he is experienced.

Need to give pacers a run for a while

Good, Amir should urge Samuel to attempt a pull. He seems like a short temper guy, perhaps will go for it in frustration.

Is it just me or does Bravo look similar to Lara when batting?

By no means I'm comparing him with Lara, so don't be confused.

Samuels is as calm as ice. The only time I saw him "angry" was when Warne turned into the devil. :warne

Not sure bro, because he gives impression that he's itching to do something all the time. Have seen him going haywire at times.

His first hundred was against Kumble and Harbhajan on a square turner in Kolkata.

No, but I mean he has the temperament to play long innings in tough conditions.

Certainly, he has 260 top score, above 3 thousand runs, average of 33 and 7 centuries :).

However, what I was saying is that he looks erratic at times.

We should hopefully skittle WI out soon, the partnership between Bravo and Samuels is getting better and better.

I can't believe that Pakistan didn't know that the Pink Ball neither spins nor takes reverse swing.

It's almost as if they wanted to draw this match!

Dumbest pitch imaginable.

Bravo and Samuels are two of WI's best players of spin.

Pitch is still terrific to bat on.

This pink ball idea was such a bad idea. No matter how bad the pitch is, the ball is supposed to do S O M E T H I N G. Its not even drifting and even with pace on the ball, the batsmen are playing it like its coming out of a 12 year olds hand.

We seriously need a professional bowling coach. Is Azhar Mahmood still our bowling coach does anyone know?

Don't blame the bowlers.

Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket both understand that the Pink Ball only takes wickets on a greentop. You can't spin it or reverse swing it.

This match should be close to finishing now: as the first session of Day Three comes to a close the team which batted first should be roughly 160-7 in their second innings, setting up a thrilling finale.

But that requires a greentop.

We are almost at the midway point in the match, and only 5 wickets have fallen.

It is an absolute disgrace.

I don't really want Nawaz to bowl if he's going to dart it in like yesterday. He needs to learn to flight the ball, give it some air. Asghar is such a better option.

Nawaz was added as all-rounder, which Asghar isn't.

If you add Asghar in playing XI, then your tail will start from 7 (after Sarfu), which is not acceptable by any means. Now to mention how fragile our tail is in the first place.

Fine...but how is it fair that day night tests can have just green tops?

What about spinners then? Forever assigned to do support job for pacers in day night tests?

Such a brutal contract in between strike rates of Bravo and Samuel, 28.57 and 62.02, respectively.

We would all love to recreate the red ball, but so far that has been impossible.

So the compromise is to play every third Test with a Pink Ball. But the hosts have to understand that a traditional wicket won't work with a Pink Ball - it's a greentop or don't bother using a Pink Ball.

WI are doing well right now, but you never know. They are quite capable of collapsing as they did repeatedly against India in the last series.

This is a complete pancake of a pitch. Doubt the state of play would have been any different if this wasn't a pink ball test. The seamers have been utterly ineffective.

Then I guess we need to work more on pink ball cricket to make it feasible.

That's a huge handicap.

But who knows....Asian boards will meekly surrender without opposition cos they are spineless jokers so maybe pink ball cricket in the current format will go on with green tracks or flat tracks.

Can you imagine a situation where Western nations would adopt pink ball cricket if it needed only spin tracks to succeed? Haha.

I assume the motive behind use of the pink ball is commercial, like much else in cricket now. Mornings and afternoons people are at work and nobody watches TV. So the push is to make it possible to play later in the day.

The spinners picked wickets in the Duleep trophy with the pink ball.

Problem is they were not figures like 5/42, but they had figures of 5/126 and something similar to that.

People need to be patient, test matches are not decided in a session.

Last 4 overs, just one run. Serious blockathon in progress!

Yes. But would the western nations adopt something for money even if it was the other way around?

Assuming Junaids theory turns out to be true.

Kuldeep ran through teams one game and got carted mercilessly the other game.

But in green tops, spinners can chip in with 2/42 or 1/28 like the Aus vs NZ day night green top game.

The bigger picture is that cricket's money is made in India. If you have the pink ball resulting in Indian bowlers not being able to take wickets, it would mean a loss of interest for the Indian viewing audience. Guess what will happen to the pink ball then?
