What's new

Pakistan vs Australia | 3rd ODI | Sharjah | 03/09/12 | Pakistan innings

Some want Hafeez to hit out and some don't want him to throw it away. He can't really win. I think he's doing OK. the most important thing is that he's still there. Now that the first 15 overs are done with, he can start to accelerate.

which he can't.... he can either play a fluent innings all the way or just get out when he for some reason does slow down.

Well,Hafeez has batted well as a night watchman....
Pakistan got solid though slow start ....I think now Azhar ali should come to the crease after Rehman or atleast after Afridi...
Routine order will not be wise at the moment..

Australia bringing the RR down. Too much strike for Hafeez.

Hafeez almost throws it away. Needs to just attack now tbh, really looks like a walking wicket.

I don't get this logic of playing slow for this long, if Hafeez still cant get the hang of it by now, playing for around 16 overs, then what makes them think that the upcoming batsmen will find it easy batting on it. They need to start moving it along now, hit a few boundaries. Slow start, but safe I guess.

Hack by Hafeez, inside edge for four. He might as well do this tbh - no form whatsoever.

I'm not someone who tries to predict the outcome of the match, but I have a feeling this is Pakistan's game.

pitch seems to be really really slow as well, unless it is not a big hit it is not going to cross the rope.

If misbah is a good captain he should change reminding order according to this ru rate.

is sunil gavaskar being served by pakpassions very own moizes no.1 in that advert? :)

Hope dew isnt a major factor. Pakistani can't get the ball to the boundary.

Hafeez gonna get him out with his dots

I mean look at his strike rate. Almost identical. Yet he doesn't even get a mention. Yes, he's looking more comfortable. But that should translate in to runs.

Its hard to get runs at a decent rate for batsmen on this ground.

Lots of criticism of Hafeez, although Nasir has a similar strike rate in this innings. The point being, lets be grateful they are still there and put some faith in our batsmen. Gave us a good platform and the last game and have given us a steady start today. Bear in mind we may collapse in a heap so the longer these stay in the better IMHO. I get feeling batting on this sluggish pitch will be more difficult for th incoming batsmen.

wickets in hand are important..we can accelerate later as the oz get tired..patience is the key here!

Anybody still want to blame the 2nd innings dew factor for Australian extras?

Hafeez gonna get him out with his dots

And then Misbah said "Hafeez is a very aggressive batsman". I think Misbah thinks the same about himself as well.
So now we got two Misbahs in the team

whoever here is saying runrate is low, they need to calm down. wickets is the name of the game. have patience , we just cant have a collapse. so wickets need to be saved
