All the crap given to Shafiq and Misbah, I was spot on a while ago in saying that the risk free strategy for the PP was correct - I turned out to be spot on, Akmal just came in proved it. I hope Azhar does well now.

pakistan should aim for 250 and play nice and easy 6 runs an over will be good. No need to push for any further at the moment.
 
number 3 position is for best batsmen .. instead they send
a third class player

Back to topic, still nothing too bad. Play normal - reach 240/250 and that will be enough for Ajmal and co. to deliver.
 
Misbah has been absolute rubbish, putting pressure on his partners with his usual tuk tuk...Will he ever play a meaningful knock in a big game? I don't think so! :facepalm:

Umar's good, just needs to mature and get better under pressure which is important middle order. But he's already very good.

It's got nothing to do with his position. Who wanted him to slog there? Unless he comes in 5 overs till the end (which he usually never does), he never needs to go there and slog it out. No.6 is a proper batsman position. After all the two star ODI batsmen of recent times Dhoni and Hussey mainly batted at six.

Umar played a poor shot yes. A very poor shot. Was meant to go more over mid on but he dragged it due to the slowness of the wicket.

Also the way Misbah & Shafiq were playing runs were needed and quick runs.

Misbah puts so much pressure on the team. He batted out the whole PP and was still on 11 from 21. He's a pathetic batsman who fails in crunch situations.

umar akmal is la-ilaj just like afridi..azhar should have come at 3 anyway..

next person starts an umar akmal comparison thread need to seriously think about their cricket knowledge..
 
We just need keep wickets in hand now for at least till 45th/46th over, also anything we get now is bonus.

I struggle to see Australia chase 200 plus.

Shafiq SR was 80, its not Brian lara cricket where SR are 300 plus.
