The match is being shown so I thought we should have a commentary thread for this

Just when I said the line was good, he bowls a wide. Kamran fails to collect the ball cleanly but its stll just a wide

Gul seems to be generating good pace aswell

Dhawan totally beaten by a jaffa from Gul! Just missed the edge

Dhawan creams the ball through the vacant cover region but only gets two
 
Damn I wish I could be watching this. I doubt the real pitches will have any juice like today's.

Malik getting a little carried away here. No fielders at mid-on or mid-off. Easy runs provided to the Delhi batsmen
 
Akmal at it again

Akhtar to Chopra, 1 run, fuller length delivery down the leg side, Chopra closes the face of the bat and looks to tuck it away, inside edges it towards the keeper, sloppy work by Akmal there, cuts off some pace though and the batsman picks up a single
 
Malik has three slips and two gullies for Shikhar Dhawan. This is some field setting I must say. The ball is doing a bit here and Malik is giving his bowlers all he can to achieve some success and gain confidence going into this all important series. The field setting however reminds me of Gayle in the last ODI between England and West Indies this summer, when England were nine down and Gayle had all nine fielders in the slip cordon.

There is only one flight to Delhi from Pakistan every day. So if he didn't arrive with the players yesterday he would have had to drive or go by train with the awam. Or did he teleport himself there?

Or is he actually not playing and the cricinfo writer is a fool who doesn't bother doing any research?

i don't think he needs rest... needs to get used to indian pitches, he is much better then tanvir...

he doesn't need to get use to Indian pitches so much. And I doubt the pitches they give us in the ODIs will be anything like this one.

Good to give Tanvir a game to get another look at him before the ODIs.

i think he's much better as a first change bowler .. he just doesn't have enough juice for the new ball.

Tanvir beats Chopra outside the off-stump

Next ball delivers it down the legside and flicked away by the batsman for a couple. Tanvir has to get rid of this legside problem

why is yonis bowling? Is he going to be bowling much on this tour that he needs practise?

Interesting.

Seems like we might be thinking about using him for a couple of overs in the ODIs.

This implies that we will be going in with a bowling attack of Akhtar, Gul, Rao, Afridi, Fawad, Malik and Younis (Fawad, Malik and Younis sharing 10 overs between them).

Younis wouldn't bowl if Rehman was the 5th bowler...there would be no need for him.

At least it is something they are thinking about.

This is a terrible line-up Pakistan has picked for this match. Only three frontline bowlers, otherwise the team is packed with batsmen

The team is fine.

You can't play everyone

3 specialist bowlers is about the norm in ODIs.
 
judging by the text commentary....Younis seems to be getting some movement! He has used his time at Yorkshire well. Good stuff Younis.

so Afridi isn't a specialist...hmmm....what does a guy need to do to become a specialist...heck he does have the best avg in ODI's for Pakistan in the past 2 or 3 years...so i think his bowling should be considered as specialist....so basically its the 5th bowler that needs to be shared with

Now is Younis just bowling for fun...
OR Geoff Lawson thinks that he can bowl 3-4 overs to give the team balance by fitting in another batsman in the team.

Honestly 5 specialist bowlers in ODIs are a little too much.
