Well there’s the fact that the players and officials will already have a tight schedule as it is. Apart from that there are a hundred different issues like what happens about supporters who have travelled some distance to watch a game having paid the full price of a ticket and can not come the next day? Or what about the TV sponsor who have paid for the entire match but do not have time the next day to show the match; How will it be broadcasted then and obviously the sponsor would want their money back if the rest of the match is broadcasted on a diffrent channel.

Sure, but whats the good in NOT having the match. That doesn't solve anything. People who came overseas, wouldn't they rather watch then not. I mean if they can't then thats fine, but still. So I don't get what you're saying.
 
oooo that good...tape cricket is fun...before we put a team together we used to play tape cricket every sat .....

btw hard tennis ball is a an indian thing ...its basically a heavy tennis ball but u dont tape it...it doesn't get smacked around like the tape ball and you need to time the ball to hit good shots....and i dont find it fun to bowl with....no swing etc

yea we play with indians and its mad boring, but thats all i got

live in new brunswick area...i went to rutgers so live around there....played in MCL this year ...was my first full year...couple of us friends..mostly pakistani put a team together this year...our record was 4 wins and 8 losses out of 16 games....i guess not too bad....

i took 16 wickets in 11 games so that was fun....

115? Thats way too much! I am not worried, but isn't it supposed to be proportional? But then again, they're going to fit the factor in of wickets. Because its shorter, so its more runs.

Of course all the fans would want to watch the match, but all I am saying with such a tight schedule for the players, officials and sponsors, delaying the match even a single day would cause too many problems and is hence neither sensible nor possible to do.
 
Still raining man....its 7.40pm, apparently its not that heavy but its constant.
 
the rain is still on according to sky sports david gower.....the rain is not heavy but it is still there....it is coming very consistently....cut off time is 9:21 which is absolute latest we could be on the ground to do 20 overs

The rain is still coming down at Cardiff, and boy is it tipping down. The covers are very definitely on, and they won't be coming off for a while. There are a few groundstaff standing around by the covers, hands in pockets, apparently resigned to the fact there's not going to be any play any time soon.

There's a cut-off time of 9.21pm (BST); that's the latest they could start a 20-over innings and the match would stand. Obviously if they do come back on at any stage, Pakistan would then face a revised target, but we can't tell you what that would be yet, of course. But what we can tell you is that were they to play just the 20 overs, the target then would be 115.

We'll bring you more updates as we've got them, but until then you've got plenty of time to check out our features and news on the site.

the problem with pakistan team in WC 2003 was that they seemed to loose the early initiative by not thinking correctly...i mean we could hav easily won the matches against Aus & Eng

Australia were 95-5 when symonds blasted our a***** coz waqar spread the field out... also england were 165-6 then collingwood played beautifully bcoz again waqar spread the field out.. and then there was lack of communication among players as well

a) it could swing around alot under lights
b) Ball could get wet easily and be hard to bowl with or even hit!
 
Guys according to weather.com the consistent showers are 90 plus percent likely until 10PM....so I don't really think this rain is going to end soon and England probably got a nice reprieve. This site is usually very accurate

I think if rain doesnt come again we wont start till about 2030/40 at earliest.
 
I recon game will be 32-30 overs a side now with pakistan needing 125-30.

This is my prediction and not confirmed!
