He's our best ODI bowler, at number 6 in the ICC rankings. He's got a wrist injury at the moment which is limiting his batting but he's the most explosive batsman in the world. He's one of our best fielders. That's why he's still in the team.
We certainly can find a better spinner than him. We should do that, and consider dropping/resting him.

Yes good stuff, wrist slitting is back :D

Lets get those knives out and that blood gushing boys, thats the way
No one is wrist slitting. There's no way Hong Kong are going to chase even half of this. Everyone is just mighty pissed that we expect to see a 300+ score, and we are reduced to watching poor youngsters battle it out. Good for them, shame on the experienced ones.

Oh and a note, I'd watch a Mohammad Yousuf cover drive over a Shahid Afridi six anyday.

We really do have the ability to make ordinary teams and cricketers look like world beaters :(

We've probably already got enough runs to win this game, but really the battings not been too clever.

I bet they would struggle to defend a total under 200.. So someones gotta get a century here or a good 80 or something...

I don't see a difference between Afridi's batting and that of Umar Gul!!!
There is... Gul can manage to score 20+, while afridi at the moment cant

Right. I am panicking right now

iZeeshan said:
Ok I'll rephrase that.

I am not longer an Afridi-worshipper.

You know what ensues.
I think there has been an oversight, someone forgot to tell you

THERE'S NO WAY OUT

:|

talk about dropping Kamran for form, what about the honorary goat killer himself

Boy am i grateful that i am still stuck up in office.. Otherwise i would have had to watch this ridiculous game.

I don't think we can, actually

He's been our best ODI bowler for ages now, not just the best spinner in our team, but our best bowler. Theres nobody who is as consistent as him at bowling in the middle stages and picking up crucial wickets at a relatively meager economy. His batting will be back

So you think there is someone who is one of the best ODI spinners, playing domestic cricket in Pak?

U suddenly dont want afridi in the team anymore?

U removed ur signature, but if i remember correctly, he was in your playing XI squad, and above that, he was the captain :P

Sarfaraz and Fawad should be used to this sort of pressure, they've been part of very weak u19 batting line-ups where they have had to dig their teams out of a hole all the time.

Also it's a good opportunity for them to get some time out in the middle

Wateva !

:afridi <-- This guy is a JOKE.

Sarfaraz is the one i'm really backing today, he's our ticket out of Kamranville.

Fully agreed. Mansoor Amjad can provide plenty with the ball, and is more then competent at batting.

:))) :))) you're right Eas, this wrist slitting is hilarious!!

not a word before the match, but anything out of line in the match and its instant execution :)))

DId I say that? I don't think I did. He needs a rest or a drop or something, but not out permanantly. Even if it hurts our bowling. Something is seriously wrong with him and I 've been patient for a while. He doesn't even go "Six and out" anymore. Its sad.

Read what I just wrote.

Is the pitch unplayable or is it the resumption of normal service from our batsmen ????

Mansoor Amjad, as I mentioned before, is a very very handy player.

Its a minimum 400 pitch apparently! Flatter than the flattest pancake you've ever seen!

absolutely incredible

seriously i'm now enjoying this

this is becoming an exciting match - it's not going to be as easy any more to win this - will make for better viewing

great stuff :D

Was lookin forward to see him bat a long innings - Fawad was slightly at fault, but it was always going to be tight.

There might be one, who can TURN into a better ODI spinner if gives as many chances as afridi....

And besides, there arent many ODI spinners who perform well. I could name them: Murali, vettori, hogg, razzaq, power, and afridi.

That really sticks it in the gut! To think we could have seen a brilliant display of batting and we are degraded to this.

Pak 167-7 off 29.2

Well deserved drinks for the PK/BD ex-pats

Sometimes you take a day off and you regret it.

Today is one such day.

hmm wheres kamran akmal when you need him...he couldve gotten atleast 20 runs against these jabronis

An opportunity for Tanvir now.

We keep hearing that he has the potential to become an all rounder - lets see today.

That too by a team who are playing an international match after 4 years! :)))

Couple of things guys.

Cut out the spamming of illegal links and cut out the bad language - thanks

This is a shame.

A bunch of club-cricketers are beating us....

161/7, i alsmost cant believe it.

Is this the worst ODI performance for PAK alltime?????

This is brilliant, now we have an entertaining game :D

Guys, take it easy

Our batsman fell to some careless shots, this batting innings is just the wake-up call we needed. Everyone knows we start off slowly, I expect us to beat India again on Thursday or whenever the game is. Some people are acting like this is the World Cup final and Hong Kong have Bradman padded up, waiting to bat

I just hope Tanvir rotates the strike and gives Fawad Alam ultimate time to paly.

dont ya think ireland was worse

The pathetic thing is that they won't even complete their overs.. What was it.. Another Younis failure... Butt i heard was out on duck.. So our heroes from the final score zero the next match

Beating is a strong word.
See we may have believed an ultimate buffoon in rameez when he said its a flat pitch;)
Still, i dont think Hong Kogn have ever scored above 150 in a ODI.

He must be enjoying his time off, maybe playing with his brothers dropping catches in his backyard.

Pakistan pulling off a Pakistan.

ohh can u plz tell us about ur batting
just say they're poor plz

it ll b hard for HK to chase.
but only if 1-2 players can get in (just like against Ireland happened in WC), anything can ahppen

as these guys don't play on real pitches

younis made 67. Does younis and butt have to perform all the time, baqi log cholay bechany aiyen hain?

I think pakisatn will easily make 200 and will win the match, so hold your horses guys.

HK couldnt score 167 even if they had 100 0vers and 22 batsman to get it.

But thats no consolation for our batting - should have crushed these minnows

i hope you are right

I think in the midst of all the 'slitting, it is importiant to remember that the Hong Kong side has actually played very well. Encouraged by the early wicket - they have moved from there, with good consistent bowling, not allowing any batsman to break free and change the momentum.

surprisingly good!

Ireland worse? Only 2 of HK team played international cricket. They are club cricketers.

Yes, the setting in ireland (we didnt go to the next round in the WC) made it look even worse

Sometimes, you erect a full-scale tribute dungeon honouring the world's only ODI double century resplendent with two hundred vigil candles, surrounded by full scale photographs and thirty eight television sets with footage of him on loop and you regret it.

Today is one such day.

Isnt this is complete different team????

Pathetic display absolutely unbelievable, the ability of Pak batsmen to self destruct
