Usman Sahib said:I believe we should drop the mighty Younis Khan from the ODI team and play Fawad Alam in that no.3 position. Or better, play Misbah at no.3, put Fawad at no.5 or 6. Younis is a liability with the bat nowadays, he just cannot score in ODI cricket!

Usman Sahib said:Malik and Misbah should look to get to the 40th over with the Required run-rate at around 6.5-7.0 RPO. Afridi and Tanvir can be handy for finishing off the game. All depends on these two now
SameerM said:doesnt he have to face 2 balls to be out twice?
i never mentioned it again, and he still got out!!Dhonifan said:assasin gone!
now I can relax

to classify as an all-rounder, his batting should be betterSameerM said:Afridi is a bowler too.. so what are u trying to say?
Hmm. I agree, Malik should go back to where he was at his best as a batsman. I dont care whats the batting order, I just want Younis out of the team and Fawad in. Fawad has been wasted down the order, he is no hitter. This is the perfect opportunity to try Fawad, if only our captain had the guts to drop Younis!Big Mac said:Malik at 3 or 4 for ODIs, it's his best position. He only moved from there because Imran started spouting nonsense about how you must be a specialist batsman to play there. It made no difference that at the time Malik was our best ODI batsman, whatever Imran says, Imran gets.

He hasn't performed. His ODI record is abysmal at best, therefore he must be dropped. Specially when we have an adequate replacement for him. Fawad is young, has performed admirably in FC cricket and is a more than decent middle-order batsman. Why not give him the chance rather than hoping YK finally hits form in ODI over and over again?MCMLXXXII said:I am one of the biggest supporters of Younis on this forum. He is a proper batsman and the thing about proper batsmen is that they can play in all kinds of conditions and situations. I would always prefer someone like that to be in the team because you never know what the situation might be. If we had Younis Khan still to come at this moment everyone would be more relaxed. Younis might not score all the time but I would expect more from him then someone like Afridi batting which might be entertaining but rather short.

On the other side we have the mad, aggressive and always fired up Beast
could this be the winning combination???????

Big Mac said:An average of 24 at a strike rate of over 100 is perfectly fine for someone that comes in at 7 tbh.
It's when the 24 average consists of one good innings in 10 that it becomes a problem.
after having played 260 (!!!!) ODI, its not good at all. Even if it was consistentBig Mac said:An average of 24 at a strike rate of over 100 is perfectly fine for someone that comes in at 7 tbh.

Absolutely right.SameerM said:boring or playing likee 10/11
as long as they bat to the 40th over, thats all we need

Afridi is still ready to take a few risks. Let me remind you that Shahid Afridi has faced a lot of questions for not having played sensibly when his team needs him the most, we have seen him throwing it away in crunch situation and that too at grand stages like a Twenty20 World Cup. Sticking to the natural instincts is no wrong but one needs to mix caution and agression.
Agreed.Big Mac said:People saying this is boring need to lay off the Sunny D
