Oh well Afridi has his chance to stay at the wickets now!

I believe we should drop the mighty Younis Khan from the ODI team and play Fawad Alam in that no.3 position. Or better, play Misbah at no.3, put Fawad at no.5 or 6. Younis is a liability with the bat nowadays, he just cannot score in ODI cricket!

Malik at 3 or 4 for ODIs, it's his best position. He only moved from there because Imran started spouting nonsense about how you must be a specialist batsman to play there. It made no difference that at the time Malik was our best ODI batsman, whatever Imran says, Imran gets.

Malik and Misbah should look to get to the 40th over with the Required run-rate at around 6.5-7.0 RPO. Afridi and Tanvir can be handy for finishing off the game. All depends on these two now

Forget it....
Misbah's gone! :6:

assasin gone!
now I can relax
i never mentioned it again, and he still got out!!

Ishant takes out Misbah. Probing delivery outside off that straightened off a length and Misbah stabbed it to Dhoni. He was trying to run it down to third man but ...

the ASSASSIN got assassined !! :16:

We had to lose some time, remember it's been a glorious run these past few months, the like which we never achieved under such giants as Imran, Wasim, Javed, Inzi

Oooops...Afridi likely to get out anytime.!42.3 kph through bteween keeepr and wide slip.

I am one of the biggest supporters of Younis on this forum. He is a proper batsman and the thing about proper batsmen is that they can play in all kinds of conditions and situations. I would always prefer someone like that to be in the team because you never know what the situation might be. If we had Younis Khan still to come at this moment everyone would be more relaxed. Younis might not score all the time but I would expect more from him then someone like Afridi batting which might be entertaining but rather short.

Afridi is a bowler too.. so what are u trying to say?
to classify as an all-rounder, his batting should be better

And he doesnt seem to care about anything, such a selfish player when batting. I think he'll be out after scoring 1-2 sixes

Hmm. I agree, Malik should go back to where he was at his best as a batsman. I dont care whats the batting order, I just want Younis out of the team and Fawad in. Fawad has been wasted down the order, he is no hitter. This is the perfect opportunity to try Fawad, if only our captain had the guts to drop Younis!

On one hand we have over sensible, too calm and dozey Ant.
On the other side we have the mad, aggressive and always fired up Beast

could this be the winning combination???????

Like, Malik should imagine that the fielders are standing where the gaps are, and then hit his shots, because he seems to be wanting to give the fielders back the ball

He hasn't performed. His ODI record is abysmal at best, therefore he must be dropped. Specially when we have an adequate replacement for him. Fawad is young, has performed admirably in FC cricket and is a more than decent middle-order batsman. Why not give him the chance rather than hoping YK finally hits form in ODI over and over again?

Man, this is going to be a royal thumping.

this is a lethal combination..don't know whether for us or for the opposition tho. :10:

Chawla's the man, he's either gonna finish us off or get smacked!

RRR is only 7 - still in there.

That's not the problem..
The problem is the wickets in hand..
After some time, we'll need to hire some batsmen from the Bangladeshi crowd..

An average of 24 at a strike rate of over 100 is perfectly fine for someone that comes in at 7 tbh.

It's when the 24 average consists of one good innings in 10 that it becomes a problem.

But that one good innings consists of a 100 or more in it, and the rest contains ducks... So let's just hope this is that one inning

malik edges it for 4 - malik should have come no 3 in a chase of this nature or afridi should have opened - malik is such timid captain...

I want us to win but we dont deserve to

110/5

Things look pretty bleak, but could change in a few overs if Afridi gets going. Its a big if going by his current form, but he's like that.

after having played 260 (!!!!) ODI, its not good at all. Even if it was consistent

I think Malik will now play his usual inning of 50 odd not out in a loosing cause.

For an all-rounder? Yes it is. Just a shame that his worshippers start thinking he's more than he is and the inflated expectations start weighing on him.

boring or playing likee 10/11

as long as they bat to the 40th over, thats all we need

If that happens then we could easily have a chance. It is a tough ask bu that is exactly what they need to do.

Still in the game chaps. RR is decent - just need to hold wickets

Keep holdin wickets and anything can happen after 40 over if these 2 can play that long. Inshallah.

From cribuz

Afridi is still ready to take a few risks. Let me remind you that Shahid Afridi has faced a lot of questions for not having played sensibly when his team needs him the most, we have seen him throwing it away in crunch situation and that too at grand stages like a Twenty20 World Cup. Sticking to the natural instincts is no wrong but one needs to mix caution and agression.

Some people live on Mars...

So far they both are playing sensibly. Hopefully they can keep it up.

watching the game on internet

I am watching it on
ourcric.com

just in case someone still wants to watch.
In my opinion, it is in the losing causes that our team needs all the support. anyone can cheer up or be a fan of the team when they are winning. having said that, it is good if they win once in a while against a good team.

so what, today the game got of their control, we'll meet them again in the final and get even.
