If I were in YK's shoes, other than smiling all the time , I would put the Irish in, if winning the toss.

This is because Ireland are more likely to be bowled out cheaply trying to set a target than if they are chasing a lowish total if Pakistan happens to run into trouble (ala WC 2007)

What you're saying holds for every team except Pakistan. We are absolutely abysmal while chasing under pressure. Even in the New Zealand game, if they had 25-30 more runs they would have been all over us when fell

Ireland have a very good pace attack .. well at least their first two bowlers are good.

We need to play them with respect and aim for a target of around 150.

on the other hand if we were chasing we would have the constant pressure of making sure we're upto the DL par score at the end of each over, just in case the umpires pull the players off at any stage due to rain.

D/L always causes problem for the team batting second not batting first
and in a five over innings I would trust pak bowlers over batsman anyday

although I would have liked pak to bowl first as then it would have become 12-13 over games with us bowling them out quickly

Whenever you decide at the toss... you decide on the basis that you will play a full game. Right when you start overthinking you get into trouble... just like Younis did in the game against England.
