What's new

Pakistan vs New Zealand | 2nd ODI | Abu Dhabi | Nov 9, 2018 | New Zealand Innings

I'd much rather have Hussain Talat than Hasan Ali in UAE

Amir
Shaheen
Faheem
One more fast bowler that isn't Hasan Ali for World Cup.

Perhaps an Amir yamin who can bat as well and can swing it also. But he can only bowl 5-6 overs. Has the potential to be murdered at death.

doesn't sarfraz know how to manage the bowlers? your best bowlers didn't even bowl full 10 overs and you got Hasan Ali getting spanked...

when have you ever? dont you tend to vanish when the team is doing well?

Last time I vanished after Asia Cup and came back when we beat Australia in the second Test. If I wanted to rub it in, I could have used those two weeks to my hearts’ content.

Wicket probably is griping more than last game, with dew on it Southee should get some seem movement here; 220 definitely is a fighting total for their fielding. Kiwis will miss Santner today.

To be honest i think NZ have a chance with even 200 here. Shaheen's bowling is saving some grace for Pakistan. Otherwise they would have reached 230 here.

Lately i am not enjoying the discussions on this forum. Rather than discussing about cricket some posters have made it an ego issue and are here for point scoring.

Bhai jisko jo bhi pasand hai let them enjoy as long as they are not offending you. We agree that you guys are great cricket experts now please let us enjoy and discuss game.

What finds Pakistan has had in Afridi and Abbas. I think because of the focus given to Amir, some gems in Pakistani cricket were discovered a bit late (like Ali, Abbas could have debuted earlier)

Shaheen is only 18 years old, My God this guy will be exciting to watch in English conditions.

Forget bumrah. Even bhuvaneshwar never went for so many on that Dubai pitch let alone this used Abu Dhabi track. Hassan needs to be rested.

Bhuveneshwar is an under rated death bowler i think.

Don't forget we screwed up a chase in 2009 versus Australia B chasing 190 odd.

Anyway this was dumb captaincy by Sarfraz. Hafeez has already bowled 10 overs and Faheem and SSA - the best bowlers aren't completing their quotas because sarfraz brearley kept giving overs to hasan. No way you can defend such captaincy.

If we do win then its nothing to do with good captaincy or bowling by rookie Afridi or our fake all rounders (Shadab, Fahim, Hafeez, and Imad) but down to two factors:-
1) Sarfraz luck that he lost the toss
2) Law of Averages

Shaheen is the only bright spot in this team. The challenge for him would be to avoid the typical Pakistani curse of tapering off after making an instant impact.

Bhuveneshwar is an under rated death bowler i think.

He has been very bad in the initial overs so people usually overlook his death bowling (and sometimes rightly as his overall figures are still very bad

Pakistan would not beat any of the Dhaka teams in 50 over Cricket. Fact.

Common we are not that bad!!!!!Even Hong Kong can beat most of the Dhaka team. Surely we are better than Hong Kong. There is a big difference between international team and local team unless they are from Australia, England or India.

Abbas debuted at the right time after 2 wonderful FC seasons which showed he was a greatly improved bowler

Could have finished Afridi's over. Pathetic captaincy by Sarfraz

Faheem is an all rounder and isnt a death bowler, would have gone for plenty but poor from Sarfraz to again making the same mistake and not give Shaheen his 10 overs. Imad bowled one over too many here.

Shaheen could have had 2 5fers but thanks to the best captain in our history he couldn't.

Great yorker there by Hasan. Needs to hit it like that with more consistency.

88mph too.

I will only breath easy when we have hit the winning runs lol..Boult will be dangerous and so will southee..

Yet, you still won't spare us from this injustice and go take up another sport or better yet, another country.

Proof that even the most whiny of people here also know deep down, that Pakistan is going to make its fans proud come the World Cup. InshAllah.

How good has The Shaheen been? The find of the year and yet another credit to Inzamam ul Haq.

Cites how good Shaheen is but picks his World Cup XI with him as 3rd man with Junaid in the XI.

Before you start telling others to take up other sports or move countries I request you to take your own advice as your deluded as it gets, so stick to your local sports in the North American Continent where you reside thanks!

Sheheen has grown up and matured as a bowler in a matter of months. He is bowling like he has been playing for 10 years now.

Hasan Ali has regressed. Bowling like Dinda.

Faheem is an all rounder and isnt a death bowler, would have gone for plenty but poor from Sarfraz to again making the same mistake and not give Shaheen his 10 overs. Imad bowled one over too many here.

Imad should have bowled more in the middle overs.

Up until the 37th or 38th over he had only bowled 3 overs.

Shaheen is the only bright spot in this team. The challenge for him would be to avoid the typical Pakistani curse of tapering off after making an instant impact.

Amir also started well then faded away so I am not too confident about him.

I like the Pakistan team - much more than some kebab sellers who shout louder than their station would merit on this forum. But, the truth is Pakistan are a terrible ODI side. With 200 up, NZ are *FIRM* favourites to win this game. Although I hope Pakistan do.

Its unfortunate that Shaheen couldn’t get a fifer in two consecutive matches

So if I play against NZ and keep losing I'll win the 10th game? Thanks

Wow..just woke up to this score. Shaheen 8 wickets in 2 games. What a champion bowler he's turning out to be

Pak shod win this handsomely. Team can bat unto No.10 and target is in their comfort zone

Bitter truth

210 to win..gonna be a hard chase as this pitch looks very slow and stodgy...

But they can afford to see off boult and tuk tuk the rest..no need to take any major risks..
