Pakistan vs New Zealand | 2nd ODI | Abu Dhabi | Nov 9, 2018 | New Zealand Innings

Poor from Sarfaraz, no justification to not bring spin in when that 2nd wicket fell

In ODIs Sarfaraz is just waiting for things to happen, rather than thinking fast

Hasan Ali cant move the ball an inch on these surfaces. Bit like a bowling machine

Pakistan can not chase more than 200 and New Zealand is already batting at 6 rpo
so we are out of the match

Looks like both Hasan and Fakhar have nothing to offer. Failing like no tomorrow.
We don't have not even 1 single proper batsman in the team.
Most of them are minnow basher.
Imam surprisingly fight to stay in crease.

Whats the point of forcing a wicket out of pacers, they might get but on this wicket when you have 3 quality spinners why not utilize them

Faheem has been keeping things tight. Maybe we should select more of these "fake" cricketers. Abdullah719 :))

Hassan has leaked more runs in two overs than Faheem has in five

This is the difference between top quality batting line ups and a mediocre one like Pakistan's. Even when they are losing wickets they are still looking to score, transferring the pressure and momentum in the process albeit due to some trash bowling from Hasan.

Not necessarily. Under lights, it may swing but if you see that period off, the ball might come onto the bat better . Key is to not lose wickets to boult in his first spell.

Agree. Hafeez is a walking wicket to any swing even if that was from Angelo Mathews. He is an opener who can’t play the moving ball even at 110kph. If they lose 2 wickets then third wicket is for free taking which is hafeez’

I see a 20/3 again in the first 10 overs

When you are not choking them with spin on these wickets when 2nd wicket fell what else do you expect

NZ is just to strong for us.
And there is no much difference between previous and current PCB set up. So no hope for us. We will have to satisfy with some fluke win here and there against top teams.

So powerplay was stopping Sarfaraz to try spin??? Even Eng sometimes bring in Moen Ali inside 10 overs even in eng

Loosing and opposition being strong is another matter but atleast they should do some homework and make right strategies

Amir, Shaheen and Faheem might be the best bowling attack going forward if Hasan Ali continues this regression. Been impressed with Faheem's line + lengths and showing signs that he could make this XI on bowling alone even though I'm not convinced he will be a prolific wicket taker especially against top batsmen.

Indeed poor captaincy from Sarfraz yet again. If we lose this series this badly his time as skip is coming up soon.

Brought Hafeez in too late.

Hafeez would have castled Worker in the first 5 overs.

Totally, and such tactics are what you expect from Sarfaraz. I dont know what he has been doing, its like he is a different captain in T20s and ODIs.

It can also be due the fact that he is doing this based upon CT win plan, but should realize the wickets were completely different

Not a bad idea to play with 3 ODI with NZ A team. We might learn something.

They wont teach you basic common sense and tactics unfortunately, which we have been lacking big time in ODIs.

We got Bng 12/3 in Asia cup and let loose from their. Same thing happened in the last match twice, second time was when NZ was 210/7

Not sure if these are Mickey's plans. But he usually has issues comprehending Asian conditions. The reason we have been poor in the UAE since 2016 in general.

Yes we might win or loose but I wonf change the stance that captaincy and strategies were not upto the mark inside first 10 overs

Really feel for hasan here. He's not bowling that badly but these slow pitches are making it difficult for a 5'9' fast bowler to have any impact.

CT Final:
Bowls Hafeez in the powerplay on a nice paced English wicket and gets smashed for 2 boundaries in that over by Yuvi who superb player of spin.

This match:
After 2 wickets down and knowing Worker's vulnerability against spin he brings on Hasan Ali in the powerplay overs and holds Hafeez back on a slow wicket with the ball gripping on to the surface.

Sarfraz is tactically clueless and has no idea what he is doing.

Sarfaraz is captain in the middle, I dont know mickey will say anything if he would have bowled Hafeez or Imad inside 1st 10. Yes selecting 1 spinner against Srl in UAE could have been his call. But in this match Sarfaraz has 3 spinners in the ground.

Sarfaraz looked tactically pretty strong in T20s but turns out he doesnt transform it to other formats more often than not.

Mickey is obsessed with pacers so the plan might be to give most of the new ball to the pacers which is not smart knowing the ball doesn't really swing for every pacer in the UAE.

It will be exactly the same as last match, around 250-280 total and then practice time again.

Babar opening the batting, Imad opening the bowling and Shaheen coming first down was working in T20s why change that when you know that conventional strategies are not working in OdIs

Atast, we could have had this wicket inside first 10 overs

And Hafeez strikes. Did I not tell you?

Hafeez would have castled Worker inside the first 3 overs of the game. Poor captaincy Sarfraz.

Better late than never. One can't help but feel this wicket could have happened earlier if Sarfraz wasn't so tactically inept. Should have bowled a lot earlier.

Result of this match isnt gonna change my stance on poor strategies naked to the eye and repeating the same mistakes again and again for almost a year now.

I like Sarfaraz, his passion and his energy but cant support him when he is doing it wrong

That AUS-SAF game was so entertaining that after a long time it brought the memory of old sweet days - score between 225-250 used to make almost every even contest in AUS a nail biter.

Here, this game also can turn into similar score card, which probably is only positive of UAE :).

If bowling action isn't any concern, then against 2 lefties, I think Hafeez should be the first man to take the new ball.

Some Sarfiz basherz in action :yk

I like everyone who plays for Pakistan so nothing personal. He has been letting the partnership to be built very easily on certain occasions. There is no excuse of not bowling Hafeez or Imad inside first 10 overs

NZ's best batsman of spin Latham on the crease now. Need to get him asap otherwise another 260+ score on the cards.

Easy to criticize on each and every ball sitting behind the keyboard and thinking only we know the correct strategies.. Baqi jo ground mai hain wo bewaqoof hain :)

I agree but what do you think is the reason of not bowling hafeez or Imad inside first 10 overs. Especially when your old strategy has only lost you matches througout the yeaf.
