I am NOT forming expert opinions about our performance nor am I forming expert opinions about the PITCH when I haven't seen either!

People on other threads 'worried' about our fast bowlers - 'whats happened to them' they cry - without actually having seen a single ball they bowled.

They bowled FANTASTIC! In fact, they have been bowled into the ground in this test!

The way they scored quite quickly....they have almost (but not quite) made up for the 88 run 8th wicket partnership the saffies had!

Anyway....36 overs remaining (in reality about 30)....how many can we get?

I'll be happy with another 100 runs and the loss of no more than 2 wickets please.
 
What killed us earlier on wasnt the 50 or so runs SAF got that they sdhouldnt have - it was the time they took to get them.

With the start Pak openers have made - its almost nullifying that advanted.

Pak clearly showing positive intent.

That should be applauded

Hmm, so you're ridiculing his assessment of the pitch based on reports and you haven't seen it either?
 
Its not a bouncy pitch by any standards. Its a true pitch with decent carry.

According to reports, it is more bouncy than the last pitch. Here's a snip from cricinfo:

With the pitch offering more bounce, something South Africa's pace bowlers won't ever complain about, any total might make it difficult for Pakistan's batsmen. "There is more bounce here than in Karachi and that will help our bowlers more," concurred Prince. "Also it turned more than we thought it might on the first day, but again, as Pakistan have to bat last, that is beneficial to us as well."

By all accounts it seems it is bouncier than the Karachi pitch and it sounds like it has more bounce than a typical pakistani pitch.
 
that was a very very quick 50 for Pakistan. and the important thing was that they were playing proper cricket shots. keep it going boys!

Its relative...Karachi was dead. Lahore is more sporting, with something in it with everyone.

ps couldn't they have at least got some of their relatives to come in and make the stadium look less like a ghost town.
