Pakistan vs South Africa | Match 30, World Cup | Lord's | June 23, 2019 | Pakistan innings

Shoaib akhtar was saying that imam cannot play a cover drive. He has played 3 magnificent ones. Imam is not bad. His criticism should be stopped

How many cover drives before shoaibs comment and now a dropped catch because wide slip for imam

ICC should give remaining SA matches to other teams they are not looking interested to play at all...

These guys should be ashamed of themselves. Playing for themselves. They’re trying to save themselves. Why didnt perchee show intent in the previous matches? Now that he sees people throwing stones at him and he plays aggressively. Shameless.

Hahahah are you serious?

Perfect! :91:

SA looks out already. Their faces tell the story, these two have taken the game away from SA. Pakistan already won this congratulations to all of PP :)

Lol. He plays a drive after playing so many matches and you’re proud? Shows how low our standards are. I stand with Akhtar on this one. Imam is the most 1 dimensional player, especially for an opener.
One dimensional or not, hes still more reliable that all the other jokers that bat around him(babar excluding).

MMHS - back on the topic of 10.30AM starts at Lord's and the 1999 WC final. There is one major difference from then and today - the pathetic nonswinging white Kookaburra whereas 99 WC featured the rock hard white Dukes that kept its shine for longer.

I think, PAK pair has batted exceptionally well also, and SAF has bowled poor. We can judge a condition after both teams have batted, but I am sure SAF (most teams) would have bowled here, but PAK pair has countered brilliantly, credit to them.

MMHS you got it a little bit wrong today, it happens with the best as well. Duke or no Duke Pak seem to be in the mode, Hope I don't jinx. Pak shoukd never bat second unless we find our own Kohli.

Actually it had more to do with the fact that India exploited his weakness better. The way he plants his foot and his head falls over he is weak against the full straight ball with even a hint of swing. Bhuvi executed the plan perfectly and had Imam hopping around like a headless chicken and then Shankar got him with the same plan first ball. South Africa have been poor in that regard so far.

Pakistani batsmen have scored 90% of their runs through boundaries. Just shows how weak rotation of strike is. Dry up their boundaries and see them panick

Yeah if they want to become elite batsmen they should give respect to good ball and looks to rotate strike

SA know they are out so they didn't bother.

This is where you need Sarfraz and Fawad playing at no. 3 and 4

400 is minimum from here. Is Pakistan peaking at the right time. Needs 6 straight wins from here. Possible!

No one has actually scored 400 in the WC yet. I wonder if people realise this before talking about scoring 400 or 450?

Fakhar plays with hard hands with hardly any use of the wrists. He'll always find it difficult to rotate strike

There is a big reason why our batting collapses. They don't know the art of strike rotation and lack patience to play big innings

Whilst boundaries are been scored, to many dot balls been eaten up inbetween. Should really be 10-15 runs here.

Atleast he shows intent. Doesn’t play selfishly. The likes of Shehzad play with hard hands, hit shots to fielders, can’t rotate strike and don’t even show any intent.

Let the game run :) I can always be wrong.

It's not about Dukes ball, you have to use the condition as well. I think, these machine stitched balls are hard coated varnished, hence in first few overs doesn't swing at all and if it doesn't seem, poor length will be punished these days. But, above all PAK pair has batted extremely well, and batted with a positive intent.

not good from the openers far too many dot balls in last 3 overs & RR is below 6 now way to ruin an extremely great start.

First time Shaheen playing at Lords. Hope he doesn’t struggle with the slope.

I also wonder if people are a bit educated about facts and figures before burping out senseless facts and looking like jokers on social forums ...

Atleast one instance i remember when team india scored 413 in 2007 world cup against Bermuda !! ( There may be more , maybe lanka scoring 400+ against kenya , and even other teams )

He's a decent bowler.

Not really averages 35+ I don't consider that decent. When Amir's bowling averaged touched 30 in ODI's he was called the worst bowler in the world so I don't see how this guy with a 35+ average can be considered decent.

We tend to get stuck. Need to keep the scoreboard ticking. Look for those gaps and run those singles and doubles. How difficult can it be? Just rotate strike
