Looks like Sarfraz is trying to squeeze in a second spinner in sohail and shafiq. On this pitch, Herath could be deadly, right?
 
Sri Lanka have the upper hand for now but Pakistan can strike back in the last session

This pitch isn't slow like previous match and it has started turning already, this match is not lasting 5 days.
 
If Pak has any hope of winning this Test, they should shut off Lanka for no more than 320.

This pitch will not be easy to bat on Day-2 with Herath extracting turn. Pak needs to be at their best when they come out to bat tomorrow.

match is over bro, was lost with the toss, and whatever tiny chances of a miracle performance were crushed with no off spinner on this surface...

deserved to lose this series, hopefully sarfaraz and mickey learn to select teams based on surface

its all over, I am not a negative person but this is just awful and we deserve it for brainless selection
 
Someone needs to take two quick wickets, so Pakistan can be top of the Lankans. Otherwise, Sri lanka is going to score yet another 400+ in this series...
Pacers need to pick the remaining wickets ASAP. We don't want Yasir Shah to bowl another 40 overs on Day 1.
 
It's just real poor management by the captain and head coach. There is simply no reason to play 3 pacers on UAE pitches. Spinners are the reason why Pakistan have been unbeatable in UAE so why would you change that much? Maybe if you have top class fast bowlers, you can make a case but playing a mediocre fast bowler like Wahab? There's just no reason for it.

Or if you really want 3 pacers, then take out Shan Masood and have someone like Ashraf/Yamin in the lineup and go with 2-2 with pacer allrounder attack. Just real poor strategy all around.
 
Wahab needs to keep it tight if he isn't going to be threatening the batsmen.

Lanka is half way there, if they bat for 70+ more overs in this innings, the series will be over
 
Lankans in no mood to score runs even against the gentle pies of Sohail and Shafiq.

Looks like they will be happy with a draw this Test and win the series.

Any good team would have dominated this Pak attack and hit them to all parts of the ground. Lankans are scared of taking any risk at this point.

Poor exhibition of cricket from both sides.

The only way a result is possible is if one of these 2 teams collapses again for under 150 in their 2nd innings like they did in 1st Test.

It seems to be the shrewd management put all their eggs in one basket to bank on just that, the selection of 3 seamers would have been justified if they can manage to bowl lanka out for about 300; it seems that's what they expected as well :yk2 Anyhow it's still poor stuff because Yasir is being run into the ground, after he is done bowling on this track he better be good at bowling leg spin with his left arm !

SL should attack the part timers in my opinion. Force Sarf to overbowl his main bowlers. But then again SL batsmen are just not that good i suppose.

I'm very annoyed of their childish mistakes. If you are going with 3 pacers and a spinner then you should know your pacers will deliver. That's why you are preferring pacers on a spinning track.

And now pacers are disappointing them. new ball is due and you have more faith in spinners than pacers lol. Then why you went with 1 spinner...? Could've dropped a batsmen and included a spinner.

I don't understand what they are doing. Perhaps still celebrating over CT17 win... ?

Mohammad Amir has literally told his captain to take the second new ball now.

Absolute shambles from Pakistan.
 
OMG! I don't know why but since he came back from his ban he is not able to take wickets in tests. His luck is negative perhaps. He bowls great sometimes but couldn't get any wickets...

Sarfraz Haris normally have small pot bellies. But shocked to see Azhar has one. Amir also looks little unfit. Sarfraz is trying to hide them by wearing vest. When they are tired all their tummies come out.
