What's new

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka | 2nd Test | Dubai | Oct 6-10, 2017 | Day 4

Anybody remember that ad from our bachpan

"Chai chahye"
"Kaunsi janab"
"Lipton hi tou Hai"
"Mmmmmm la jawab"

Why can’t other batsmen play around him. The guy has some limitations and we all know though though he’s come along way to over come them. The other batsmen need to play with some intent and look to score at least 3 runs an over while Azhar can be your anchor. But the problem with this batting line up is that they all go with one pace which is snails.

Intent can’t make up for lack of ability.

Nigel Llong seems to have a soft spot for Pakistan.

Not really. He gave a no-ball to Pakistan [Wahab] yesterday when he was clearly inside of the bowling crease, and also warned Wahab about running onto the pitch. Yet Gamage hasn't been warned as of yet.

Isn't the difference between to two being Kashmiri tea is pink, and Pakistan tea is the normal colour?

Kashmiri tea is called noon chai because it contains SALT while as normal chai, lipton chai or coffee all contain Sugar.....

yes Kashmiri tea is pink in colour

I read your post as “what’s the difference between Pakistani team and Kashmiri tea” :))

Never mind.

I think gamage has been warned as well and he had quite a harsh no ball called on him but fair enough .

that number is high :yasir
i bet its probably in single digits

Man that's normal thing among older generation here.... u gotta believe it.
younger generation generally take around 6-8 cups.... this is a huge difference and its mainly becoz we eat a lot of junk foods

Azhar is world class.

i have a feeling we'll get close and then lose it in 2nd session tomorrow

At least Misbah is somewhat well set with a strike rate like this. Masood on the other her hand...

The tea that people call Kashmiri tea in Pakistan isn’t actually a Kashmiri tea. Kashmiri tea is salty coz we put salt in it rather than sugar but the the one they serve in Pakistan has sugar in it.

That was the first ball of this series I saw live..... spectacular crowd in. Test match cricket zindabad

:salute

I didn't see the first 3 days - it has to be either one of worst bowling performance by PAK in 1st innings or batting by SRL in 2nd. This wicket can't be 500 & 100 track.

Golden boy Babar and Kaptaan better show up in this innings.

Bobby needs to score 50+ otherwise be dropped.

Sarfraz better not get a 20 (25). It's all good to play at a good strike rate, but you should score more.

I expect Shafiq to score well though, his fourth innings score is decent.

Azhar Ali is one of my favourite cricketers, adjusted his defense against herath in this innings, shows his hunger to continue learning, not a lazy cricketer like some

Not letting us forget Misbah

Possibly. But with lakmal also injured now, Pakistan's chances look very good now. The pitch is also quite ok to survive and score rubs on.

Herath is kind of a bowler who you have to constantly attack or else he will eventually get you.

Coming from kashmiri family I assure you that we feel insulted if someone serves us kashmiri tea with sugar

As long as you're 'aggressive' and you have the 'intent' you don't need to score. Those are the only two things you need to be praised. :afridi

Yeah that's true but I think they can handle him this time. Just a feeling.

You should always expect a mental block from Pakistan team after getting skilled out for 100 plus in the first test chasing a meagre total. They have to fight their own daemons alongwith Herath.

no!!!
kashmiri tea must never be sweet....its original name is 'noon' chae (urdu letter noon)
noon short for namkeen
must be served with salt

Yeah that is what my Kashmiri friend told me that Kashmiri tea is salty.... and I was like whaaaaaa... everytime I had Kashmiri tea in Karachi it was crazy sweet

Yes it is Salty.... Kashmiri tea doesn't contain even a pint of sugar

Pakistan's batting these days makes a run rate of 2.5 look like world class. I understand blunting the new ball but our batters blunt the ball for 70 overs and then resume the process of blunting the second new ball.
Shan is 10 off 64 balls. That is hopeless.

Khuda ki kasam Shan Masood is probably the worst opener in world cricket today... The only person who gives him any competition is his partner Sami Aslam

I guess things get modified to suit local tastes. Like most popular lassi in Lahore is salty... but in Karachi salty lassi isn't very popular, you have to specially ask for salty lassi. If you don't you will get sweet lassi.

Man it is painful watching guys like Masood and Aslam bat. Scoring at a slow pace is fine but at least have some intent to get some runs.

I once had an argument with a caterer who served kashmiri tea at a wedding
I found the tea to be sweet but he refused saying he would never dare to add sugar while serving green tea in kashmiri family wedding
Turns out he used everyday milk powder which iteself is sweet hence ruined the taste

Azhar needs to pick up the strike rate on this phatta against bowlers who are mediocre at best. Aside from Herath ofc.

20 overs and only 31 runs

This is how we are going to win this Match?

shan masood 11 runs after facing 70 deliveries
understandable if you go on to score big but i highly doubt that shan is capable of doing that

If and it is a big IF... Pakistan go onto win this match would it rank as one of the top ten comebacks in test cricket? Its not common that you concede 200+ lead after first innings and still win
