I still think that Akmal has what it takes to open the batting. I like to see Malik and YK batting the middle order 'coz they are both excellent runners between the wickets so they can turn 1s into 2s etc.

However, I feel that if Salman cant make a decent score today, we might be seeing Farhat for the 2nd ODI

the major difference btw the aussies and us...even if the aussies loose they dont change their attacking nature and come out all guns blazing from ball 1...where as with pakistan soon as they start loosing they start adopting the defensive approach..not the right way to go.......for goodness sake we bat down till no 8 (rana is a perfect batsman if he were in my team i would send him as the opener....
