Only a thick person would believe that playing at home doesn't have commercial advantages and is not good for the well-being of the people because they get to see the players play live, that's a given. It is also financially better for the board and the morale of the players.

However, as far as on-field results are concerned, moving to the UAE has made no difference at all. We have carried our Test and ODI form from Pakistan into UAE, and blaming UAE for our mediocrity is ignoring the elephant in the room.

We might be better at home going forward from now, but the results of the last few years have not been hampered by playing in the UAE, they have been poor because our team has not been good enough. As simple as that.

We don't have individual brilliance because we don't have brilliant players, nothing to do with not playing in Pakistan.

It's funny how not playing in Pakistan hasn't negatively impacted us in Tests but has in Limited Overs? Why? Because it hasn't affected us the on-field results at all.

It is pure delusion and ignorance to believe that our results would have been better had we played in Pakistan instead of UAE. That's the whole point.

Our best Test ranking ever; No 2nd Position in ICC test rankings, came during Inzi's tenure from the 2004 to the 2007 season I believe. You claim that we carried that form forward ??? Have we we been ranked the same when we started the season in UAE ????? I don't think so your argument is pretty hollow when you do a like by like comparison.

Further to this Asif, before the Test in Karachi was never considered a threat in international cricket at all. Only after that performance did Asif actually raise his game and was starting to destroy line ups in post 2005. We can see this when he toured SL and NZ later where I think he averages in teens, If I am not too mistaken. How did he get that confidence by playing and competing in front of a home crowd. The match if you remember was in Karachi and that pitch was a batting gem since we set India a target in excess of 600 but the advantage of home kicked in and Asif just ran through India which had the Fab 4. Asif never looked back after that performance and by 2010 was considered ATG material.

This is just one of the examples that I've quoted here and I can state so many more its very surprising that a sane poster like you is making me spell it out for you that even performance wise its as different as the ground and sky; playing at home and playing at neutral venues.

Overall showing everyone how we really are 8/9 in all formats of the game
