This is terrible captaincy by Malik. Why not bring the long-on and long-off up and force the Zimbabweans to hit over the top? Taibu played two pull shots over the top and both of them weren't timed. Malik should have noted that and brought in the fielders. Masakadza with that kind of bat lift will also struggle to loft the ball cleanly. I just cannot understand Malik's defensive captaincy at the moment
 
man I'm afraid another 120-130 runs here Pakistan might struggle to chase.

Wow, this is pathatic, we have absolutely no fire in this attack. Even with Gul and Asif I don't think it'll be enough.

Taibu gets his half century, and Masakadza gets is past his previous career high, 80.

Err...what? I think you missed 'at the moment', which means right now and in this match. I am aware of what he has done in previous matches and I am not talking about them in this thread

Yeah, I would hope so, we have a pretty strong batting line up and they should be able to do this. But it's still sad that they are in controll at the moment.

I can understand him trying out defensive tactics against better opposition like South Africa and India, which have batsmen who have the ability to clear the boundary effortlessly time and time again. But I dont understand his tactics against these Zimbabwean batsmen who have shown no sign of attacking the bowlers by playing lofted strokes

With a good charge at the end, they could get to 265 or so. Pakistans bowlers have really really let us down - especially Samiullah and Rao, they were very very poor. Time to draft in Sohail Khan ASAP.

Tanvir seems to well every time he plays against new opponents, but then seems to fade after the get used to his action.

u can't judge a bowler by how well he does against the zim tail ..

his first spell was outrageously bad for a guy of his experience ..

30+ matches with a 35 bowling average ... that's quite poor by for a specialist ODI bowler !
 
another pathetic display from Pakistani bowlers, fielders, and the Captaan Saahib but Pakistan will win it with the bat again and then Malik would be on cricinfo saying how good his team is improving.

Alright, this should be no problem for our batsmen, especially against this bowling attack. We did, or atleast Tanvir did a good job near the end.

Butt needs to be dropped from limited overs cricket, other than against India he's totally useless. If he does score it's so slowly he puts pressure on his partners

I just hope that captain supremo can do one thing right today and ensure that sends out aggressive batsman e.g. Afridi and Misbah ahead of himself to really put the message across to Zimbabwe that they mean business but, I am 100% sure it aint gonna happen.
