Pakistan will have the best possible preparation for the 2019 World Cup

I have going through the future tour program, and it makes depressing reading for a Pak fan,never 18 months see quite empty

however there is one thing I noticed that makes me quite happy.

Right before the cricket world cup 2019 in England, Pak are scheduled to play England in England for a limted overs series that should start in May.

The CWC will start in on May 30th

So no excuses

Pakistan should have quite a bit of cricket till then. I guesst here will likely be a home series against NZ, maybe something with SA and plenty of ODI cricket.

You don't need to worry about adapting to English conditions, you can easily hit through the line here as the pitches have become so flat for limited overs cricket.

But its a great opportunity to hit the ground running in that ODI series in England before the WC.

We need to have sorted out our team combination by then - our main aim should be finding 1-2 quality pacers, an explosive opener and a hitter/finisher at 6.

What's gonna happen instead is the new Chief Selector in 2019, Haroon Rasheed, will recall Anwar Ali (average of 29 with ball and 21 with bat in 2019 Regional 50 Over Cup, already fifth domestic competition of year by February) Umar Gul (Had a good world t20 in 2009 in England) and Kamran Akmal (averaged 300 domestically, can play great offside drives) while dropping promising youngster (insert name here) after being selected but left out of all match day XI's for the just completed tour of SL.

The PCB will place great hope on team captain Umar Akmal and vice captain Hafeez.

They will arrive 1 month before the official tournament kicks off. They are scheduled to play 5 One-Day Internationals and a T20I against England. For me this is the opportunity of a life time. Having so much time and match practice under English conditions and then walking into the tournament whereas other teams will only have 1-2 warm up games.

Pakistan reached the final in 1999. 20 years later they have the biggest opportunity to write the wrong

That T20 is an unnecessary distraction, waste of time. Apart from 5 ODI, should play few List A match with County sides. Very good team for English condition, but still I think 2 batsmen short, at least - batsmen can't be groomed from domestics, while PSL may find few new kids, it's not sufficient to develop batsmen. May be an A team tour in 2018 with genuine contenders for 2019 open spots will be equally beneficiary. I think, BD A team has some tours in SAF & ENG next year - can be a triangular with Pom Lions .....
