What's new

Pakistan win the final game of the series by four wickets

Very nice shot from Malik coming down the ground to the spinner.

Should've cleared that short boundary though :P

May be time for Morgan to pull Dawson off bring on the seamers try and get a breakthrough then get him back on. I don't think hes bowled that badly at all.

agree unless you lose early wickets - which happens a lot for us.

Actually, that'll always be the case. But, that doesn't mean a complete shut down of scoring. Also, these days, I have seen teams keeping asking in check, if that ends in all-out inside 35 overs, so it be.

Sarfaraz this sarfaraz that! Seriously .. guy averages 50ish in the series at a high strike rate .. he is an accumulator. . Only player in the team who can rotate strike .. granted, he's not a hitter .. slogger .. he can't hit sixes .. but I'd rather have a player who can make runs at an average of 35 40 at a strike rate of 85 than a player who will make 20 at 150 .. the amount of stick he cops is unbelievable.. 2 of the most highly regarded Pakistani cricketers across the cricketing world (sarfaraz and misbah) get incredible amount of stick from our own fans .. crazy! Really is! .. we love afridi .. we love sloggers..

Indeed, a lot of people wanted him gone for Rizwan who's a much inferior player of spin.

Its a good start, need him to convert.

It's funny how playing Malik during the middle overs is having its effect. Mickey must be regretting putting Malik at 6/7 before during the death overs.

Shot of the day from Malik. Even though he was beaten in flight and didnt get to the pitch....

Really Pakistan can lose from anywhere, but really shouldn't now.

Hopefully these two will play till less than 75 needed and then I don't think Pakistan can lose.

Damn we've became that bad even Indian fans have forgot how a Pakistan LOI win looks like and want to see it. :))

it's a shame that Malik didn't get to face too many overs of Moeen and Rashif at 6

Malik is the ultimate troll. Will score a 50 in the last game of the series and cement his place for the next series. I'm torn between winning the match and wanting to see these TTF's fail. Would rather have Rizwan score a 50 in this match than Malik...

If a walking wicket is your definition of a modern ODI player than only god can help you.

A walking wicket? Sure he hasn't made big scores in some games but Shehzad and Hafeez have always been walking wickets.

Dawson gifts have been a serious boost to Pakistan.

Heres where temperament comes into picture.

130 runs in 23 overs is seriously doable.

Suleiman , there is still hope. Don't worry. :malik

This is why Malik should not have played

That being said

He was coming in at 6?

When really he's a 4/5 batsman

He didn't bowl too badly. Was getting revs, fooled the batsmen a few times.

Its just that these two play spin really well, and they were going after him.

We can still lose from here lol

Possible but this game puts you in a chance to win.

The old formula of 250 runs is just a BS approach to get a respectable loss.

Pakistan needs to memorize this template and keep picking players (or throwing them out) based on how well they can execute what has been done till now.

Anything is possible as long as Malik is there.
In Malik we trust

Lol Shobby haters in hiding!:)) Suleiman freelance_cricketer

Satisfied with the chase so far but we need to show this against better bowlers rather than their bench players or debutants

This is the kind of game Pakistan should play.

Modern cricket.

Gives you a chance to win.

Bro, this was the game in 1975 as well. Those days, the context was different, so this 302 would have been 222; but the formula of chasing was always same. The major change in ODI is in 1st 15 overs, but the likes of Javed, Lamb, Gower, Deano, Azhar, Border, Martin .... all played like this from No. 4 & 5 in 70s & 80s as well. Now, the boundary has shrunken, 2 balls, better bats, lighting fast out field - so you see lots of boundary. But in late 80s, Javed had 9 or 10 consecutive 50+, most of them chasing & some not out. Only change would have been in 90s that most of them would have batted as opener or No. 3.

The standard game PAK plays now days was obsolete in 1975 as well.

Can't believe some people here actually wanted that flop Rizwan to replace Sarfraz

Superb sarfaraz continues to impress ....

And with that couple , finally a fifty for shoib Malik in uk...

It's not surprise to see Malik doing well at 4 considering his best era as batsman came at 3 under Inzi in ODIs ... He's a guy who needs time at the crease before he gets going and he is showing that today.

Be wary England , sarfaraz has got his favorite shot , sweep against fast bowlers out..

Wow we are never 186/3 after 30. Wow wow wow
