Atta Ur Rehman and Asif Mujataba were convicted fixers I think.
Rashid Latif was given more than adequate chances. Otherwise how can you explain 100plus ODIs and almost 50 tests.

Rana Naved was given so many chances that he didn't deserve. He kept his place for 3 years on the back of just 1 ODI series in India. Economy rate of 5.5 in those days was akin to 6+ these days.

Imran Farhat played more than double the games he deserved actually.

Of these only Saleem Elahi is one I agree with and maybe Kabir Khan and Arshad Khan

I would add Asim Kamal, Sadaf Hussain(never even got to play a single match), Aizaz Cheema and Zulfiqar Babar(both were picked way past their prime), Azhar Mahmood(in tests),

asim kamal,, fawad Alan. Wasti was a more of 7 day test match player. Too slow for test matches even. Imran farhan, Iqbal were parchi players

Many of the players you listed either had plenty of chances and played a decent number of games for Pakistan, or were clearly not good enough for the international level and were cut off quickly. And somehow you missed the unluckiest of them all, Fawad Alam.

Only going by players I have seen.

Saleem Elahi
Sami Aslam(I think he was dropped way too early)
Fawad Alam
Asim Kamal
Hammad Azam
Sohaib Maqsood
Amir Yamim
Mansoor Amjad
Fazl e Akbar
Asad Ali
Tanvir Ahmed(had great stats, was dropped too early then bought back when it was too late)

Team doesn’t have a wicket keeper cause I couldn’t think of anyone. Sami Aslam is a part time WK I think, so he can keep.

Asim Kamal was not unlucky. He was a limited batsman who progressively got worse and failed to impose himself. Nothing more than an average middle-order batsman, and his FC proves it as well.

He was no different to Asad Shafiq. If Shafiq would have been dropped forever by 2012-2013, people would also be naming him in this thread.

Hammad azam

Misbah Ul Haq as a Youngster

Mohammed Ramzan from Faisalabad just played one game for Pakistan.
scored 10478 runs in first class with 25 centuries

From the original list I think Shahid Nazir and possibly Hasan Raza were unfortunate.

Some of the others received a fair go or it became obvious they weren’t good enough very quickly.

Asim Kamal
Fawad Alam
Tabish Khan
Salim Elahi
Hasan Raza
Imran Nazir

Sadaf Hussain
W Wasti
Md Zahid...

On the contrary I think Asad Shafiq and Malik were luckiest 2 play so many matches

Taufiq Umar deserved a longer run instead of being shunted out for mediocrities like Salman Butt and Imran Farhat. He knew where his off-stump was, and when he stood up to the South African pace attack of Donald and Pollock, I thought we had our replacement for Anwar in Tests.

Sadly it never worked out.

Asim Kamal
Fawad Alam

That is literally it. People are otherwise naming average cricketers who probably could have had a few more caps but were never going to make a difference for Pakistan in the long term.

There has been a merry go round of bowlers for the last 20 years bowlers while batting talent has been non-existent. Mostly everyone who even remotely deserved it has had their chance.

Despite Sami Aslam being extremely boring & slow you got to admit he was hard done by the management he did performed decently in all those away tours of Eng, Aus, NZ in 2016 & 2017 didn't deserved to be ousted like that he deserved more chances

Saud Shakeel
Umer Amin
Saad Ali
Tabish Khan
Sohail Khan (Initial Years)
Zafar Gohar
Zulfiqar Babar (Was Wasted in Domestic Cricket)

Toffee Kumar failed in almost every opportunity he got. But was talented as the South African tour showed..

arshad khan
kamran hussain
aamer yamin
zulfikar babar was only given a go on his last legs
abdur rehman
ayub dogar(played only one test in 2014 i think)
cheema (only given a chance on his last legs)

Raza Hassan? came in with a bang during the t20 World Cup , then disappeared after injuries and some misdemeanours.

Few people have named Saleem Elahi here, as an LOI player he was pretty decent and should have been given a few more chances. his short test career was due to his poor technic against pace and bounce when he wasnt playing on flat wickets.

Fawad Alam and Asim Kamal are the obvious ones.
