This is quite ironic. During my bachelors what i saw was that you can just submit a plagiarized report and outs of 10 teachers, you only have 1 teacher who cares to do a plagiarism check. Adding citations to your work was something no student did, I would probably be the only one...

Citations, refrences and research are something that are taught in Canadian schools from very early on. Infact, you start learning this from middle school.

In Pakistan, even in bachelor programs students dont know how to do citations and dont even care to do them.

Also, I have heard that faculty than tends to supervise researches at master and phd level, they force you to add their name their name to the research and often they want you to cite their work in your research.....

So seeing the reality, this report means nothing to me

I'd be interested how the citation score is measured, because there are many journals who will accept basically any research, even if it is very flawed.

Says the child who only posts negative news...

Listen to Dr Pervez Hoodbhoy regarding the standard of Pakistani universities and how HEC chairman Dr Atta Ur Rehman continues to destroy Pakistan’s tertiary education system through corruption and incompetency.

I will.
If you can post something truly positive

interesting. Atta ur Rehman is hailed as the next best thing after bread in Pakistan.

Nope. He is involved in a lot of corrupt practices. He runs a science university and allocates funds for his university from the HEC budget for research.

Majority of the funds are unaccounted for and the research done there is of little value and only exists on paper. A number of scholars held a meeting with PM Imran to tell him about these practices but PM chose to ignore them.

It’s ok to be upset that Pakistani universities are getting better. No world beaters but it is still something positive. THE is a very reputable source. Do a bit research on who they are. I consider their words over yours as I can clearly see anti-Pak bias in what you always write.

I worked in the HE sector for many years and THE is a very reputable source. Also improvement in this area is good but research is where it counts. Teaching improvement is good no doubt but you need to improve in research to see real change. Overall not bad but still many million miles to go.

The big problem in Pakistan is the base and primary education which is very poor.

do you think its possible that Pakistan can adobt a course work based system instead of an examination based system in Pakistan primary education?

I am studying in the German education system. One thing I can tell you is that here every student gets equal attention from teachers and nothing like in a Pakistani class where only a handful of students are understanding the contents and the rest of the students are lagging behind. Here German teachers are very hard working. And group work and giving presentations are the core basis of certain subjects.
German education equips you with lifelong skill sets.
