Sangakarra would be great if he can accept the role. That guy has great insight into batting and is a shrewd character. Sanga as the head coach, ian pont as the bowling coach, any former baseball guy for fielding coach. There should also be a dietitian and a psychologist as part of the setup.
Make Rashid Latif the coach.
His analysis are impressive.
His patriotism is undeniable but at same time he does not hesitate to identify where opposition team perform better.
He will make sure PCT learns from even the opposition skills and strategies
and then make Basit ali assitant coach![]()

They can hire Bradman if they wanted to but won’t make a ounce of a difference to these incompetent clowns. It’s the same cycle every 3-4yrs.
PCB needs to take a long hard look at how it operates too.
He will not accept.
Lol why would he accept?
Mahela Jayawardene would be my first pick. He understands the Asian culture, and probably knows our players inside out given the million series we've played vs Sri Lanka in the last few years.
He was a tactically shrewd captain, and was a batting coach for England, as well as an IPL team coach. He also understands how to use specialist spinners unlike current management, and has played cricket in the modern era.
PCB needs to hire few Level 2-3 batting coaches (Proper batting coaches, I heard Basit Ali & Aquib Javed are Level 3-4 Coach!!!!) for junior level. National coach is more of a mentor - should be working with seasoned pros.
Few years back I created a big laugh here at PP, when I mentioned that BCB has hired at least a Dozen junior level batting coaches from SRL, who are working with U13 & U16 boys mostly. I think, now that's the only way to bridge the gap that has been created over decades long negligence & mismanagement. Batting is a methodical, process oriented job, a skill that's developed through system - don't think PAK has enough domestic resources for that.
Recently, I was reading an "expert" analysis in a FB page, written by an idiot; who has given lots of credit to Rhodes & Mackenzi for our batting, with lots of punch words & cricket jargon - as if through some chu mantar these two have touched the batsmen and they have changed their batting game, approach to batting & shot making ability!!! Lots of credit to both guys, but batting skills don't improve overnight unless fundamentals are strong and there are some basic platform upon which a top coach can build.
Like it or not, next few years of PAK cricket will be quite low - this is given, and don't tell me that you were not warned few years back. Only scope left is sacrifice a WC (PAK won't do jack in 2023 either), and prepare for 2027 WC, which is likely to be played in AUS or SAF - the start should be to focus on U19 players (genuine, PCB has to adjust buffer according to official age. 1-2 years is fine, but 5-7 years are killers) and develop them systematically - teaching proper batting techniques, and bowling fundamentals. Otherwise, already the mood I see in PP, if the nation as a whole becomes hopeless with cricket - that'll be the end of it.
Do you think we should stop supporting the team?
Because they've been mediocre for the past 10 years and are probably getting worse.
There is no more talent to look forward to either.
Dean Jones seems like a natural option. He has expressed interest in the past and has already worked with many of the contemporary players in PSL.
Apart from the Champions Trophy, the Arthur and Sarfaraz combo has been a flop. They have been particularly disastrous in the Test arena, and in the last 12 months, they have been humiliated in Limited Overs apart from picking up some cheap wins in T20Is.
Both need to go along with other freeloaders of the coaching staff like Flower etc.
Imad can be a decent captain but the fact that he is in and out of the team does not help matters at all.
Fakhar is a tullaybaaz and I fear that his days are numbered as well - especially once Mickey leaves.
Get an Australian coach or an English coach from the county circuit with innovative mindset. If Pakistan has to go for the South African mercenaries again, then Gary Kristen would make a good coach. This in conjunction with the arrangements with the English counties to train upcoming talent and revamping domestic cricket structures will yield long term dividends; but people should be ready for a tumultuous reign in the short term.
There’s one guy that comes to mind who has the cricketing know how and can get the Pakistani players disciplined and playing with aggression, if he’s willing to get involved in coaching that is - a former team mate in Sheffield Shield of our Prime Minister who could personally call him and convince him to take on this challenge - one thing for sure , that bloke takes no nonsense and will separate the men from the boys in this team.
If any of the above throw there hat in the ring then they need to be given assurances from the very top that what they say goes. No ifs/buts they can get rid of any trouble makers faster than clinking your fingers and everything sanctioned by the people at the top. Player's will then realise that running to media or creating clicks will have no impact. That is the Only way forward for this team.tom moody

shan bond
Mohsin Khan just resign from his post.
He is our Future coach
He believes on motivation and game planning
He wil make our mediocre players ATG with his planning and motivation.
Imad is useless, He should be out of current Team Squad.
He has achieved very little as spinner.
Pak head coach - Dean Jones
Pak batting coach - Mohammad Yousaf
Pak fast bowling coach - Waqar Younis
Pak fielding coach - Steve Rixon (if possible to get him again)
Pak wicket keeping coach - Atiq uz Zaman
Hypothetically how would Misbah be as coach. Dont think he'd be much of an ego trip and isn't a hugely controversial figure .He was a decent player and a good record as captain. Pair him up with a Babar captaincy perhaps?
I know that he is associated with Kings XI Punjab and he resigned as the head coach of New Zealand in recent time and might not want to take on this full time job but if somehow PCB can get MIKE HESSON in, that will be a massive coup. He is a fabulous tactician and helped New Zealand cricket massively in finding the position that they find themselves in.
Pakistan need a tactician not the rediculous cliches speaking jazba, janoon, deleri non sense.

Ian Chapell?
I was thinking of Steve Waugh, actually - the kind of chap who has the cricketing experience and personal qualities to teach these kids a thing or two about professionalism, mental toughness, and fighting out on the field. He would not take any crap from anyone - be it from players , selectors or anyone else and that’s the kind of character you need as coach for Pakistan team.
In some ways Waugh is similar to Imran Khan himself and Ian Chappell incidentally in their roles as captains of their countries, with their no- nonsense approach.
Michael Clarke
Gary kristen or mike hesson.
Urdu press reporting that we are in talks with andy flower. Gary kirtsen ruled himself out of england job, he doesn't want to do all three formats.
