Patron's XI v Zimbabwe | FC Warm Up | Karachi | 14/01/2008 to 17/01/2008

I enjoyed this line:

Developing a deadly, swinging yorker, Sohail almost had Maruma and Brent lbw but edges saved both batsmen at the last minute.

awful, sarfaraz dropped 2 catches of shoail khan bowling......

Glad to see Samiullah doing well. Hope sohail and samiullah will get selected

Maruma, however, not only defied the fiery pace of Sohail and the movement of Samiullah, but also managed to keep the scorecard moving at a lively pace.
I love this :D

^^ The guy clocked 86 as his highest, i don't think it will be over 90 even if he has increased his pace over time. This guy is surely an Indian like monsee said.

86... ? I thought he was supposed to be 86mph off a few steps.
Surely he should be 90mph+?

Hein...I said that about the reporter (being an Indian) not the bowler and also I was talking about Samiullah being an 76-78 MPH bowler :20:

And why is there no hope for someone who have 'Increased their pace over time' but still not being able to go 86 to 90; is it so difficult to achieve?

IMO we should give all these guys a run. Sohail, Samiullah, etc. I highly doubt we will lose a single game to Zimbabwe, and playing for Pakistan will help these players' confidence.

As expected a comfortable victory for the Patron's XI.

Its difficult to judge just how good a performance it was by certain players, as they were playing against a team that isnt much use really.

However its pleasing to see the likes of Nasir Jamshed, Naumanullah, Fawad Alam, Sohail Khan and Samiullah turnig in good performances. These youngsters are the future and will no doubt be given their opportunities in due course.

Thats a Waqar Younis type comment, right there :D

Naumanuallah is on the wrong side of 30 to be called a youngster and Samiullah isn't that young either!

I meant the reporter being indian, as well.

and if he was a 90+ bowler then we would have heard a lot about it. However there was no such news about the guy being a 90+ bowler. But i hope im wrong. :D

Good to see the PAK youngsters totally outplaying a former test team but having said i am also a touch disappointed by ZIM because now they have the players(Taylor, Taibu, Price and a few other young batsman) who can at least do well at the 1st class level.
