Good on Inzi to get the Rahat in the squad, upcoming youngsters like Amir, Hasan, Shaheen can learn a lot from the phenom

I’d swap a pacer for Nawaz, otherwise this is a great 11
Pakistan had wonderful chance to play all young team to experiment, because its WI who got beaten by Afghanistan comfortably.

Players can be selected on PSL performances but cant be dropped when they have performed ok at international level.
Ahmad Shahzad's last 8 T20I innings:
19, 44, 27, 22, 89, 43, 39, 53,
Total= 336 runs in 8 inns
Agree with this, it will be better once Malik is booted out and a pacer replaces him in the XI. And then Imad replaces Nawaz.Would've had Farhan and Zafar over Shehzad and Rahat.
I would've also added Yamin and perhaps Maqsood as well, given that it is a home series.
Haris dropped, but with his fitness he shouldn't even be playing T20s.
Overall, not too bad though.

Rotate the pacers around.
Have Shehzad warm the bench throughout.

Only one proper spinner, though?
So Badree has confirmed that he will be in the WI squad.
Samuels,Fletcher,Walton and Rayad Emrit all have also visited Pakistan for PSL matches in the past.I think they will also be in the squad.
But all of that was a long time ago. Hardly any in last 10 years or so.
by 2023, that squad might end up winning WC in India.
Won’t the current squad do this anyway?
I don't have time machine and obviously my post should suggest that I don't think so. Otherwise, "change" isn't suggested - why fix something that's not broken?
What do you think?
We will if Hafeez, Malik, Azhar, Shehzad, Imam etc aren’t there![]()
That's the root cause of most problems, trust me. Let me explain, you'll agree; though this thread isn't appropriate for this discussion - team is selected, therefore they need to be supported.
Previously (for me, it's the Imran/Javed era and partially 90s when Wasim was in charge), what happened is that PAK used to break almost every record by age. Reason, this guy Khan was a bit fascinated with young people.
I am writing from memory, may be you can check - every batsman that debuted in that era were officially just above teenagers, may be few a bit further - I believe Amir (Sohail) was the oldest debutante at "official" 23. Take a random pick - Malik 18, Rambo 22, Shoaib 21, Mainul Atiq 21, Rizwanuzzaman 21, Inzi 21, Saeed 22, Fazal 18, Ijaz 17, Muztaba 19, Qasim (Omer) 20, Shahid Saeed 21, Haider 22, Moin 19, ..........
For bowlers, Khan Shaheb... Aquib 16, WY 17, Wasim 18, Jafar 19, Ata 17, Kamal 19, Zakir 19, Mushi 18, Maqsood Rana 17, Hafiz (Azim) 19, Jallauddin 19, Tahir Naqqas 19 ....... after Khan, for few years Wasim had the same taste as well - Razzak 17, Nazir 19, Zahid 20, Nazir (Amir) 19, Saqlin 19, Salim Elahi 17, Shadab Kabir 18, Kabir Khan 19, Malik 17 .... Wasim always had to compromise as his own backside wasn't clean, still he tried.
The idea was simple - the system is capable to produce raw material but it's not proficient enough to brew perfect blend. So, bring them raw and green - show them the outer world outside their shed how far the sky is, give couple of years opportunity to roam round at the highest level - those who can see the light will end up as Wasim, otherwise Salim Jafar (that guy Jafar was 6'4"+, could swing new ball as good as Wasim and he was faster than Amir - unfortunately made by glass with origin of Chinese made ......).
And it worked perfectly - kids coming at tender "official" age of 18/19 - spend 1/2 years at the highest level - by 23-25, some of them became wold class, by 29 international veteran, by 31-32 lose appetite for Internationals and by 35 retired from all sorts of cricket.
In last 15-20 years, that definition of "youngsta buti" has changed as that debut age has shifted from 16-23 to 25-35 ....... BUT, UNFORTUNATELY that "official age" still is remaining with an asterisk and within inverted comma in MMHS's posts - that's the mother of all problems. On top of that, last 10-15 years PAK has been led by "not so ambitious" Captains, rather Captains who would love to be surrounded by own people to protect his chair - hence that average age of the side has moved from youngest Test squad to oldest Test squad.
Even you can fix majority of the problems around PAK team and I am writing it here - use a chainsaw to brutally chop out everything obsolete and make the average age of the squad "Officially" 25, with 2, max 3 players over "official" 29 and at least 1/3rd in "official" teens - it'll end in a nose dive for few months, may be a year or so, but by 2023, that squad might end up winning WC in India.

It's not very professional to leave it this late before naming a team.
On another note, I hope tickets are close to sold out.
They have to find players who can tour. Board has offered WI players 25K for touring Pak. Now the negotiations will be going on. They should be able to announce it today or tomorrow...
I know, but still, I would have thought they would know who they're sending 3 days before the first game. Nevertheless, I hope the team is named tonight.
Looks like it will be a windies c team

Good opportunity for Talat to start his career with a bang.
