Lahore March 18, 2017: PCB has full confidence and trust in the findings of its Anti Corruption and Legal Departments. The two departments and other officials involved in rooting out the menace of corruption in the game have worked tirelessly and with great sincerity and integrity since the spot fixing investigation began. Therefore it is disheartening and disappointing to note that a certain section of the media and some ill-informed cricket "experts" are busy speculating negatively about the spot fixing case despite the extremely sensitive nature of the matter.

We request the media to support us in the investigation and help it reach its logical end where justice prevails and PCB succeeds in the implementation of its zero tolerance policy against corruption in cricket. This is the first time in many years that such stringent anti corruption measures are being undertaken in the long term interest of the game. These need to be backed to the hilt by everyone in the national interest instead of picking holes and diluting the PCB's efforts to mount a strong prosecution of corrupt elements in cricket.

Trust them when their heads have been giving contradictory statements? Or when players CLEARED TO PLAY are charged for fixing later including one who apparently reported an approach? This has to be a joke from PCB trying to be superhero.

Bro the PCB are feeling the heat now. All players will be cleared inshAllah

Who are these players?

PCB needs to clamp down on its own staff talking to media

Shahzaib was cleared and is now suspended.

Irfan was 'being investigated' during PSL but was allowed to play. Now he is suspended.

Irfan wasi nvestigated and they likely didn't find anything so he was allowed to play.

If Shahzaib was indeed initially cleared, tha tdoenst mean subsequent investigations can not find him guilty.

For once ,we should be getting behind the anti corruption initiative because teh PCB is actually doing its job. My only criticism is that they have to stop giving out so much info to the media.

And you do believe if they don't have enough evidence or have charged unfairly, PCB is spoiling reputation of the players and could show how incompetent the board is.

I don't think anybody has the power to clamp down on Shahryar Khan and Sethi. If the main authority figures are so contradictory in their statements, then what do you expect from the other members of the staff?

I have no idea why PCB would do things just to spoil someone's career. And you are making a big scene out of such things. India banned Sreesanth with no court case or evidence shown. Symonds was banned just based on some indiscipline. I have only seen some Pak fans so defensive of any allegation. A private board has every right to ban anyone for life because of indiscipline alone and does not need to justify to anyone.

I have only seen Pak make courts and tribunals for fixing cases. Most other countries just ban players directly without any such circuses.

I laugh everytime PCB talks about corruption. Not reporting an approach is corruption but the millions swallowed by PCB officials seems completely legal.

PCB has an history of messing up things and when guys like Sethi are in charge should don't even know what manner to talk in media at what issue then how can you trust these people?

BCCI has also been defensive for certain players in IPL spot fixing, I think someone did mention that in this thread.

And why would PCB do that? It could be stupidity of the board trying to be a superhero to establish a better image by taking actions against it's important players even, I'm not advocating for anyone if someone is guilty punish them as per law of the game. But there must be transparency in any matter and you must know that transparency is a fundamental of public interest and fairness.

The problem is that the 2 men running PCB make statement after statement every day, usually contradicting each other and changing their tune every day.

PCB should concentrate on sorting those 2 out first.

Pretty much every player identified has been charged with something. I support the PCB in this. Of course players will have excuses (I took my wife's medication, I am being threatened by bookies, my mother passed away and I was mentally not in the right place). The ACLU job is to see past all this and ban the whole lot of them.

The irony of PCB telling/asking others to watch what they say is laughable.

Again, you have to show the evidence that these players have been charged unfairly. I haven't seen any such evidence so I can't comment.

You also need evidence that these players have been charged correctly (Except Irfan who has acknowledged).
