PCB forms committee for revamping domestic structure

In a surprising move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to again revamp the game’s domestic structure, and in this regard it has formed a head-less five-member committee, having no official from domestic departments.

Last year, the PCB revamped the domestic system, the major part was the introduction of the Champions Cup, inter-collegiate tournament and a few other events, but omitted National One-day Cup (regional event) and national junior boys’ and girls’ events.

In an astonishing move, the boys’ junior tournament was postponed all of a sudden after first day’s play of the opening round had been completed. This tournament has not been held so far.

Meanwhile, the PCB in forming the said committee kept its policy of changing the role of some individuals.

Data analyst Bilal Afzal, who was included in the first seven-member head-less national selection committee and has no experience of international cricket whatsoever, has been mentioned as adviser to PCB chairman in the notification on the committee.

Former Test fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who was also included in the same selection committee and later enjoyed the newly-created post of the Pakistan team’s senior manager and now acting as director of the Champion Cup events, is also part of the committee.

Ex-Test pacer Aaqib Javed, a national selector who recently quit as the national team’s interim head coach, is also included in the committee.

PCB chief operating officer Sumair Syed and president of the Lahore Region Cricket Association Khawaja Nadeem are the two other members.

Interestingly, PCB director domestic cricket Khurram Niazi and senior general manager Junaid Zia are not part of the committee in any capacity.

DAWN NEWS

Tbh all the 5 mentors the PCB hired are Badniyat and happy to take a hefty paycheque. They are being paid an extraordinarily high amount from the board per month i.e. Rs 5 million, an amount for which the PCB has every right to demand exclusitivity to Pakistan's domestic cricket.

For this amount, the mentors need to be fully devoted 24/7/365 days to Pakistan's domestic cricket taking overall charge, responsibility for the coaches, support staff and players under their regions and the domestic sides, the U19 teams and womens teams.

But you see these mentors roaming around the world fully free to pursue their other endeavors, taking on commentary, sports analyst roles during ICC events. There should be a parliamentary inquiry, investigation into all of this.
mentors are for the team squad not for doemstic infrastructure.
The infrastructure comes under the director of domestic cricket.

In PCB there are the front jobs and than there are the jobs that the public doesnt see and the person working in those position can quietly do anything.

Nadeem Khan, brother of Moin Khan, has been the the Director of Domestic cricket now, and for years this is what this guy has been doing. But because Media doesnt know this, he gets away with such things.

They should have 30 teams and increase it by 10 every year and have no limit of ages either so if you're 40+ you should still be able to play and earn a living.

So your own leaders have disappeared when PK needs them. Not a word against Modi. As I said to you and I will repeat these guys are all anti PK. PK need leadership and it ain't getting it from your criminals
What were you expecting the official to give like sultan rahi type of badmashi speech which imran khan gives in his jalsas?

The darpok imran khan handed back indian soldier after feeding him tea 🤣🤣🤣

Nadeem Khan was moved a while ago to Director of High Performance. Currently a guy called Abdullah Khurram Niazi is Director of Domestic Cricket.

However he's not on this committee to revamp domestic cricket so God knows what's happening to him.
