It has been a day and PCB have not uttered a word. Just goes to show their incompetence and how they are never prepared for any situation. I highly doubt if they have any anti-racism policies in the first place.
Did the PCB do anything when Malik said Sammy doesn’t look like a Pathan?
Bhai wait karlou I am sure something will come out beige the 3 odi they are probably discussing internally before announcing something, also waiting to see ICC stance on this
you are pretending as if this is your first time coming to Pakistan.

For once, I feel everyone is going overboard. Why telling ****/kallu is disgraceful - i dont get that... At least iin subcontinent - gori (not gowri) / krishna are very much in use. They are not meant to offend. Yes they identify a person by skin color - so wat?
What you described is who a racist is.For once, I feel everyone is going overboard. Why telling ****/kallu is disgraceful - i dont get that... May be they are in process of forming 10-12 member inquiry committee - they'll need former cricketers, judges, psychiatrist, linguistic experts, diplomats, historians (expert of SAF's Apartheid period), sociologist and may be a media person as well in that panel for first assessment ....... then 2nd panel, more like a jury board for the trial and then comes judgement panel. It'll take some time na bro.
why?
He doesn't.
These are two very different kinds of statements
Because he implied that because of his skin colour he doesn’t look Pathan, why is it even necessary to say that?
What if Sammy really is a Pathan and has melanism?
Both are related to skin colour, the only difference being that Sarfraz mentioned phel... mother.
I am British born myself, majority of my close friends and associates are none pakistani, having spent most of my young age mostly within my own community, I have realised we are always quick to claim the race card whether the P word is used or not. We also quick to refer to others thru there skin color we seldom have any understanding or realisation towards being politically correct
Pathetic from the PCB. They should have at least released a statement apologising and saying they will be taking action against Sarfraz.
and why should they do it? the person who did it apologized. Now its upto PCB and his employee sarfaraz how they punish him. If ICC wants to punish they can.
Some people think Sarfraz comments are racist. By PCB doing nothing and staying silent , people will think they don't take rascim seriously.
Well to be honest, the South Africans and the ICC had no idea what happened and didn't even whisper about it, only the Pak media, ex players and fans highlighted the issue aggressively enough for the proteas to start wondering what happened here
The Australian board is probably the only one that gets offended instantly by its players. Other boards usually are lazy and wait till the ICC reacts on on field issues.

PCB have released a statement and have criticised the actions of Sarfaraz.
Looks like he will be sacked soon
sack/suspend now, not later
This part of the post just gives me hope that sarfaraz won't be captain. “Sarfaraz is one of the most respected cricketers in the world. However, captaining Pakistan is a massive honour and any hurtful remarks by any cricketer, let alone the captain, are not acceptable to the PCB."
But guess what... They are PCB. They don't care about other people.
Nothing wrong with the word black. Mountain out of a molehill.

Hey that person is black - nothing wrong
Hey blacky, come here - racist
its between pcb and Sarfaraz. As I said ICC can do what the book says or Match Refree decides If PCB is taking the professional approach to deal with this close door anything wrong?
PCB is doing what any board would do, that is to defend their captain. Whether you like him or not, for PCB he is still the captain of the Pakistan national side.
Those Indians who are slitting their wrists over this should remember how many times BCCI has backed Kohli despite his utterly pathetic antics on the field.
I have nothing against sarfaraz but this this the pcb history as i recall it:
Wasim,Inzi,Musy,Waqar busted for smoking weed on a beach in grenada in windies - pcb did nothing
inzi beat up a spectator (yes i know it was the organizer's fault for allowing a megaphone, but that doesnt excuse violence against a fan) - pcb did nothing
match-fixing stuff - pcb did nothing against the big fish
fight in a nighclub (mohammad akram, saqlain mushtaq) in south africa in 2004 (?) - pcb did nothing
spot fixing trio - pcb did nothing
doping by akhtar (and now shehzad) - pcb did nothing
sharjeel ahmed - pcb plans to have him ready for the world cup
Waisay back on point, I spent last night thinking about how poor non-english languages are for nuance when talking people of color. I dont if it the same in Hindi.
In urdu people use Siyah Faam for black (Which is a literal translation, i.e. of dark hue) or habshi (This one is offensive, but used colloquially as in habshi halwa -which is a mithai - habshi literally refers to Abyssinian slaves)

The icc ONLY intervenes when they think a board is doing nothing. If the board takes action, lile aus did with Smith, ICC does nothing.
The professional approach would be to inform ICC that PCB has things under control. There is no need for ICC to even do anything if PCB was trusted . This just makes the PCB look weak and that big brother ICC needs to always take decisions on their players.
Most Boards would have kept quiet and dealt with it quietly behind closed doors with the ICC.
However, not the good ol PCB, who have to put their foot in it every time.

Weren't you advocating for the PCB to deal with the issue immediately with full force?
For the past 24 hours, all we have heard is... “PCB should be proactive”.
As soon as they take some steps to do so, the narrative seems to have changed to, “the PCB should have been proactive but not like this”.

PCB should have atleast called back Sarfraz from the remaining ODIs in SA and waited until the next series. Will PCB or Sarfraz not feel ashamed to go for toss tomorrow against a team whom he just racially abused? Being an Indian fan where BCCI set high standards, all these looks so bad from outside.

I was born and brought up in Pakistan and still live here. I am aware of our attitude towards racism. However, as an organisation, PCB needs to have clear defined policies and should educate its players on its significance in today's world. Hopefully, this incident will serve as a catalyst.
