PLEASE READ THIS THREAD BEFORE MAKING PICKS

The part 3 of Season 3's Draft of PCL #PSL has arrived, one of the most exciting parts of the season. Here the International players find out which team they'll be representing in the forthcoming season.

So this is how it works. Franchise Team Owners will take it in turns to pick players for their teams. One turn = one pick. The order has been decided randomly. Franchise Team Owners should state the draft number, name of the player they are picking and post in bold.

International Players has been divided into four different categories: Platinum, Diamond, Gold and Silver. There will be draft of each category. Each team will be picking one International player from each category.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - There is a limit to the number of matches each international player can play in the tournament. This includes the qualifiers, eliminators, final and other knockout games. This limit is set to FOUR matches for the Platinum/Diamond category International players,
and FIVE matches for the Gold/Silver category International players.

The draft order is as follows (snake draft as usual):

Multan Sultans
Lahore Qalandars
Quetta Gladiators
Islamabad United
Karachi Kings
Peshawar Zalmi

Action begins at 1 PM Pakistan time on 28th February 2018.

I’m available to start drafting. I am using my phone now so will be able to check every few hours.

I had a question regarding the starting XI composition.

How many of the overseas players and/or emerging players do we need to start in our line ups. Looking at our team, without drafting the 3 overseas players, I already have a starting XI.

Check the general rules and discussion thread. All details about the team composition are given there.

As for the draft, I don't have any issues with you picking now. But I would suggest you have a discussion about the pick with your VC and team members first. Also your VC had suggested not to allow anyone to pick before the official draft starting time.

A player once picked cannot be changed later.

It's a snake draft as usual. The order given in the OP will be followed for the Platinum picks, followed by the reversed order for the Diamond picks. Then back to the order in the OP for the Gold picks and then reversed order for the Silver picks.

If I may bother you once again, since international players are only allowed 5 games each, what are the total number of games this season so that captains can draft and utilize international players accordingly.

Also, we are only allowed 1 platinum, diamond and gold players each from the PPers drafted but with the international players we could be starting 2 platinums and 2 diamonds in our XI?

Each team plays one home game and one away game against every other team. That makes it 10 league games per team and then the knockouts.

I hope that is the format being followed in the real tournament. Please let me know if that is not so, we unfortunately don't get to watch it here in India.

And yes, you can play any two international players each game, doesn't matter if they are Platinum or gold or whatever. That will be in addition to the regular Platinum, Diamond, Gold PP players.

in the real tournament they allow 4 international players per match with 1 emerging player.
 
[MENTION=23911]Moh@n[/MENTION] everything looks good but you have to increase the limit for play offs or allow teams to select 6 players instead of 4 with max limit of 5 matches be the same.
 
the best way to go is to allow teams to select 6 international players. 1 from each Platinum and Diamond and 2 from Gold and Silver.
This will fix the issue. After first round when 4 players are selected form each category, the draft can continue with snake order for the last two picks in Gold and Silver categories only.

Well you can replace your international players with emerging players for a few league games and save them for the big games. Or you can choose to play only one International player for a few games. It is upto you how you plan it. Moreover you will be having a few PP players on high categories too.

If all captains feel the change is needed then I will be more than willing to consider it.

Well i thought we need to play 2 international players per match but we can save it accordingly. looks good then.
 
is it started already. I guess if captains are online then they can start selecting. Multan already picked theirs.

You can play him in knock out stage. He just means that you won’t make it to the knock out stage so it’s a wasted investment :msd

I think it would make more sense if the number of games of the Platinum and Diamond internationals is reduced to 4.

If a player isn't picked by anyone in platinum category, can we pick him in diamond category????
 
Platinum category players have higher Bat skill/Bowl skill numbers (as mentioned against the players) than Diamond category players so if you pick a Platinum again for a Diamond player, you effectively get two Platinum players [MENTION=142702]UN talkz[/MENTION].
