As we have a similar thread for BBL it is only fair that we also have one for BPL

I will start with 2 names in this prestigious league

1/ Sahibzada Farhan 7 matches, avg 18, SR 122
2/ Maaz Sadaqat 5 matches, avg 18, SR 119

So they were the intent merchants labelled as the next big thing , let's see what their advocates have in their defence

We wait for their response, let's hope 2x sixes against Bumrah are not quoted for the zillions time.

Because nobody cares about this low-grade league full of shady owners and a history of not even paying the players the money they were owed
So that makes Farhan's performances irrelevant I guess? What logic..no wonder you like 2 chikkay Farhan and *hokli.

BPL has sh*t pitches. Even Hasan Nawaz is a goat spinner on those pitches.

Main matches are being fought over 120 totals. BPL and BBL are not even remotely comparable on the basis of player performance.

More excuses. Farhan on any and every kind of pitch has a ceiling of 120 SR.

I actually think he's a pretty flawed player but I would still take him any day of the week over the 114 strike-rate King who gets offended and hurt when better batsmen show him his true place and tell him to stay at the non-striker's end.

Is that why his T20I SR as an opener is 130+? 🤡

Maybe your viewing ceiling is 120 alongside Babar and Rizwan and thus you can't see above.
Only when you include minnows. Excluding, it is 127:

Excluding his bashing of club level bowlers from SL it is 118:

I am being kind by leaving West Indies there. Against SENAI (England he has not played) avg 25, SR 115:

Do you want me to show stats of Babar as an opener?

Rizwan is a keeper and won a WC semi vs NZ and a WC game vs India. Farhan's ceiling will be 2 chikkay against Bhumrah.
Good to know how high your standards are. Winning two matches in tournaments we didn't even win. Btw, what happened after that in the big final? When Pakistan needed their GOAT T20 opener to step up and deliver? I'll give you a hint...

BBL is the greatest T20 league on Earth. All other leagues are inferior to BBL. It is very professionally run.

BPL is low quality. I agree.

Pitches in Sylhet were good. Mirpur is low standard wicket to play t20s. BPL is lacking proper organisation, proper visionary taking the game to each division with proper plans.

Yes. I agree with you.

I think Chittagong pitch is also good for T20. It is very flat.

They should use other grounds too (Bogra, Khulna etc.). I don't know why they don't use more grounds. :inti

I know quality of BPL isn't very high and posters are rightfully pointing that out.

But, despite the low quality and various issues, BPL regularly manage to attract big names.

This year, many Pakistani players are playing. There are also big names playing, such as - Mohammad Nabi, Chris Woakes, Kane Williamson, James Neesham, Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan etc. I know they are old and washed up but these are big names.

In the past, major players who played in BPL were --> Sanath Jayasuriya, Chris Gayle, Narine, Pooran, Steven Smith, David Warner, Brendon McCullum, Faf Du Plessis, Shaun Tait, Brad Hodge, Shahid Afridi, Andre Russell, Pollard, Darren Sammy etc.

Main purposes of BPL are to generate some revenues and identify T20 talents for the national team.

Anyway, Pakistani players regularly play in BPL and it is very much appreciated. Even Ramiz Raza commentates in BPL regularly I believe (Aamir Sohail and Waqar Younis were also past BPL commentators).

Hopefully under the new bcb president and new next gov, Bogra will be back, saw news on Barisal stadium getting renovation, need other stadiums in Khulna, Rangpur, Comilla, Coxs Bazar sorted.

Pakistani players not doing well in any league is actually a bad sign for Pak Cricket as the talent seems to buckle under any sort of new environment. Don't know why our so called fans are enjoying failures of our own players.

Ironic, my standards are a thrashing of our rivals in a WC and a WC semi win....your standards are smashing some SL club bowlers and some "chikkay" in a losing cause.

Corrected it for ya:
How many ICC tournaments has Farhan won? What a clown post calling a chase against India low pressure! I am sure you thought 120 vs India in T20 WC 24 was low pressure as well.

Babar has won an ICC Trophy btw defeating our biggest rivals and smashing them by 180 runs. Come back when Farhan hits a few match winning "chikkay" in ICC tournaments. Even Asia Cup would be ok. For now he is scoring at 123 SR in BPL so you can rest easy.

Yes Babar played a leading role in that ICC tournament win with his best of 46 and 133 runs across five matches. Btw how many big matches and finals has he lost since? I guess the USA match doesn't count as a big match. You can keep obsessing over Farhan all you want, won't change the fact that Babar has been a bum with the bat for years now. The simple reality is that he is a mentally weak, overhyped batter who despite his talent hasn't done or achieved anything meaningful in years. He has been on a downward trajectory since 2023 and has only gotten worse with each passing year. Rather than making an effort to improve his weaknesses he is content with coasting on his name and that makes him a lazy and mediocre cricketer. I had alot of hopes from him and was willing to look past alot of it, but everyone has their breaking point. The only thing worse than Babar are die-hard fans of his who look past all the obvious facts and numbers because they like watching 6 second TikToks or his cover-drives or whatever.

But don't worry, you will get your wish. I think there is a very good chance that Babar will be playing in the BPL next year, so maybe you can finally do your Babar v Farhan BPL comparison.

It is not so bad a league. Much better than the fake leagues and yeah it can attract big names.

Main disappointment in my eyes is that there is not any major breakthrough Bangladesh star to my knowledge, also picks of overseas can sometimes be better they have some low quality Pakistan players for example.

But the league is unnecessarily criticised by some people who paint it as doom and gloom.

Those who paint it as doom and gloom criticize it for their dislike for BD. Nothing to do with BPL. LOL.

Anyway, they can be ignored I guess since their criticisms aren't constructive in nature. :inti

Anyway, BPL is one of the oldest T20 leagues in the world. It started in 2011 I believe.

Some criticisms are valid like the ownership can do better and be more professional but we gotta appreciate these leagues that run independently without fake cash injections from Indian capital . For BPL to keep standing firm and attracting good players is testament to the good work done.

Correction: it started in 2012. :inti

Many leagues have come and go since then. SL have had 2 leagues. SA have had 2 leagues.

BPL (despite many issues) have managed to stick around. 14 years. Still going.

Agree.

There are definitely rooms for improvement. Pitches need to be improved specially.

Sydney Sixers Instagram account is under attack by Babar paglus. They are everywhere, on every post.

So Farhan racks up 185 runs at 20.55 average and 118 SR in the BPL, and nobody bats an eyelid. But when Babar Azam had a tough BBL season, suddenly he’s “selfish” and “slow”?

Funny how standards shift when it’s Babar at the crease.

Hypocrisy at its peak

and Babar faced better quality bowlers in foreign conditions where has this clown was batting in one of the worst leagues in more familiar conditions facing BD bowlers. well when his resume is filled with achievements like hitting two sixers against bumrah in a a losing cause, one cannot expect much i guess

Let the ususal agenda based poster do some bhagra... All they remember is those 2 sixes where he played run a ball knock.
