A discussion on another thread got me thinking about smooth, beautiful bowling actions.

Shane warne should be there for right arm spin in my opinion. Have not seen a much smooth or cleaner bowling action than him for spinners.

Left arm fast - Wasim Akram.

Right arm spin - Shane Warne and for an offie, Swann.

Left arm spin - Underwood looked good and Monty.

I second that. His action was actually quite smooth.
 
I don't understand the obsession with Akram's action. Yes, it was great, his quick arm speed deceived the batsman and it helped him generate pace but there was nothing necessarily "beautiful" about his action. Everyone has there opinion and I respect that but I personally think his action wasn't smooth and nor was it synchronized or repetitive. Every time you could spot a minute difference.

Everyone has his own definition of beautiful, so they are talking about their own perspective.

I've always found Shoaib Malik's offspin oddly aesthetically pleasing.
 
I always thought Mohammad Sami's had a nice bowling action.

Unfortunately the actual delivery was rarely as good lol

Imran Khan at his best had an awesome run up and action that many have tried to emulate. Other then that I liked that of Zaheer Khan and Abdul Qadir. Akram's was terrible and partly responsible for him having severe back problems throughout his career. Vettori had a good one for a spinner as well.

M. Akram had most beautiful bowling action across all types of bowlers.

LAF/M by action was C. Vaas.
 
Michael Holding and Dennis Lillee as well had good ones.
