And they say KP can't play left arm slow.

Would love to know how the conversation continued?

Pietersen to be offered honorary Pakistani citizenship now. We love a little foreign appreciation.

Shastri got owned by KP. Also he has a very bad habit of bringing IPL into discussion even in intl games.

I dunno if this is true but Shastri is such a BCCI shill. I hate watching the BCCI broadcasts.

Can you name a country that doesn't like getting appreciated?

Not interested in other countries, but I see too much eagerness in mine when it comes to importing appreciation and validation. I can understand the PSL vs IPL insecurity, but this really is nothing to talk about. My last post in this thread, would have preferred to ignore it altogether to be honest.

Shastri does get big paychecks I think , justifying the income

Just two grown up men and achievers having a casual on air chat. No one got insulted or owned or slapped or buried. Fans are probably reading too much into Shastri being against PSL mentioning as well.

Above all yet another instance of Pakistanis not being at peace with their good product and seeking reactions from Indian side, good or bad.

Any video?

What were the actual quotes?

KP will have his match fees deducted by the BCCI for uttering the forbidden "P" word

You guys are not exactly bombardered with foreign appreciation, so just welcome the little which comes your way.

This thread has more replies than the IPL match thread. What happened? Is it boring already? IPL fans can post 100's of posts to defend it but are struggling to post anything in the match thread lol. :misbah

I think its fake.

I saw this on facebook aswell, but some one commented that this is not exactly what KP said

Any video of this actually going down? Facebook memes are not the greatest evidence especially with the proliferation of fake news.

Having said that I met Shastri at Heathrow airport last year and he was a bit of a douche. He posed for a picture but didn't even bother looking at the camera. Love seeing him getting put in his place.

It is easy to see why no one liked him in the England dressing room, he is a strongly opinionated cry baby. Umpires made couple of bad calls he was keen on destroying their umpiring careers. I don't see him in commentary box next season and he shouldn't be there.

really? who? when? where?

I spent a fair bit of time around KP during the Adelaide Test, as I had breakfast in the same little lounge as the Channel Nine team.

He is incredibly similar to Tony Greig. He's charming, he makes fun of himself and he makes himself available for pictures, autographs and chats with the public all the time.

But he's also a guy who is really insecure both as a man and as a cricketer. Some elite sportsmen like Viv Richards or Cristiano Ronaldo practice intensely to be the best. KP feels like he always has to prove he's good enough. And he will always help out youngsters coming into the team, but is more likely to be upset and to bite back when seniors criticise him.

So he is thin-skinned in a very similar way to Donald Trump. But he's a genuinely nice guy.

He's actually one of the nicest men in cricket.

How long did you speak with him

Lmao all this anger over barely 30 sec conversation

Match: SRH vs RCB

Shastri: Kevin Pietersen, you've been part of this format, you played in the Big Bash recently. Do sides really believe they can get 50+ in the last 4 (overs)
KP: Problem is yes ...........They're not scared of 15 off the last. We played a game recently where we needed 60 off the last 4 overs in Sharjah, couple of months ago, last month actually. And we chased it down with an over to spare.

At this point, Yuvraj smashed a 4 and the conversation shifted away. And that was it.

A conversation which never happened?

Shastri not using the word PSL (he used the term 'another T20 league') in his recent article looks to have offended a lot of people.

I think this is fake (i might be wrong). I say this because I definitely heard the part live where KP talked about how QG chased down 200 with an over to spare against LQ in Sharjah but I don't remember Shastri asking him about BBL and KP saying "I'm going to talk about PSL". Mind you I only watched a couple of overs after KP talked about the QG and LQ match. If this conversation happened later on in the match, I don't know. However in the immediate moments after KP talked about the QG/LQ match, no such thing was said by Shastri or KP as depicted in the meme.

Shows how big the IPL is that every line by the commentators is closely followed and discussed.

Fair comment!

When does the IPL start?

Obviously it's not broadcast here in Australia as it's as universally unknown as the PSL, but I'd be keen to follow how De Villiers does. It's usually around this time of year, isn't it?

Don't care for ipl at all but man you have some sour grapes in your lunch box

Pakistanis sure do love cherishing over the fake stuff. :amir2

Its a common trend here in Pakistan, fake it and believe its real... one of our most political party's leader thrives on fake news mainstream media that gobbles it up happily

Wow, was this on PP. as far as i know this was fake news. I watched this match live and certainly don't remember anything being said about PSL. If anything related to PSL was mentioned I would have visited PP to see the reaction. May be KP referred to a game in PSL, but certainly Ravi didn't get owned the way it is being made out to be.

By the way Junaid is one bitter man about IPL. Looks like he has to suffer through it for 2 months every year :)

Kitne bure din aagaye... Fake news is being cherished

:) of course i could be mistaken about it as it is incredibly difficult to remember everything that happened. But if something like that had happened I would have come here to PP to see the reaction :)

It happened because I remember watching a video

But masala has been added. KPs intention wasn't to put down ipl and neither was Shastri trying to avoid topic of bbl

From what I remember KP just talked about a PSL match in Sharjah so yea the scenario is made up

Nothing fake about it. I remember watching it live when pietersen said it, but don't get the big deal about it either way.

It wasn't fake at all. I remember watching the video as well. However all those clips of it seems to be have been pulled down (copyright issues)

I remember I saw something along similar lines (a video of this entire thing) truth be told it didn't actually happened as its being depicted in the OP.

AFFAIR I think they were talking about chasing totals down and KP referenced a PSL game. That was about it. I don't exactly recall the extact convo but KP did mention a QG game to make a point.
