Looks like a bad injury, knee got stuck in the field and then twisted with the momentum. Obviously in a lot of pain and being helped off the field.

Asif must be Amir's replacement if he's out for the series!

Very unfortunate what happened to Amir.

Looks like his knee is badly injured.

IF Amir goes out for the next match or both of them, Pakistan must make a bold decision and call up their BEST bowler.

It's M Asif who can replace Amir, and possibly even become the best performer.

Atleast won't be bowling in this match and might be out for max 6 months.

Doesn't look good.

I really hope Arthur and Inzi grow some spine, and show basic understanding of cricket/bowling.

Yes and hope they don't make an excuse out of stomach bug / food poisoning.

They guy has bowled 3 out of the 4 best spells of Qea 2016-2017.

That is just enough.

Won't happen. Imran Khan will come in. Going to be a tough tour.

atleast his bowling figures will not be further dented on this trip: Amir fans.

It's a sport at the end of the day and anyone can replace him, just hope Amir is ok.

should not have been playing this game anyway given his past performances.

Very unfortunate. Similar thing happened with Kohli at Mumbai a few days ago when his foot got stuck in the outfield. But luckily he was alright. There are few grounds where you should never do a sliding save. Non Asian teams are quite aware about these things unlike subcontinental teams.

Amir can bowl better then Asif with one leg.. Asif can't run to save his life.. extremely poor fitness " I HAVE SEEN HIM LIVE HE IS FINNISHED "he should not be mentioned for the national team when he can't bowl 2 spells in domestic, just hope Aamir is ok to continue

Perfect start to Aussie tour we are down for massive phainta here now.

I feel for Wahab and Yasir they have to take all the work load now.

Amir out for 5-6 months I think at least.

Seeing that reminded me Simon Jones who had his career ended on this very ground after falling.

Simon Jones did not have his career ended with that injury.

He was bowling extremely well in the West Indies/SAF and in the 05 Ashes, helping England reverse swing to victory.

It was at the Gabba when he fell and his career was ended.

Amir is back on the field! Lol @ the PP doctors who stated he will be out for 6months :))

No it was not.

He fell at the Gabba in 02 and he came back his last test was:

Last Test England v Australia at Nottingham, Aug 25-28, 2005

He got 5 wickets in the first innings of that Ashes match and went down injured in the 2nd innings.

Last edited:
for his sake he should have stayed off field Aussie roads may ensure this could be his last series for some time.

How can people give diagnosis on visuals only? No examination, no report, nothing?

If god for bid Amir is out for a bit - theres only one man I can see replacing him.... :asif

........or maybe selectors will stick with :gul or :irfan :13:

I was cheering when I saw him get back on the field, it was great to see. Hope the scans come out clear and it was just a minor thing.

It seems that there was a catch taken but not claimed off his bowling today. 40/2 would have been a fine effort given what the scorecard looks like now and could have lead to more wickets. Unlucky.

Thank God he's back on the field, losing him to injury would've hurt us badly.

Is this true?? when?

Blind haters crying as usual in this thread. He bowled beautifully. Thank God it's not a serious injury.

Thought he showed a lot of guts out there coming back after the injury.

He bowled well today, glad he seems to have avoided getting a serious injury.

The pride and glory of beloved pakistan, mohammad amir is the last of his kind and a dying breed; so honour him, glorify him and revel in his custom while you can.

He's not the last of his kind. There are actually some quality upcoming prospects.

Name one that can be the next Shoaib Akhtar

I don't know about becoming Shoaib but the fastest is Mohammad Zahid and he's genuinely quick. Among others are Ghulam Mudassar, Mohammad Irfan and Ehtisham. The latter two impressed the Aussie coaches when they toured with Qalandars.

I am wondering whether the exit of Waqar as bowling coach has hurt Amir the bowler along with the others.

There are some decent prospects out there but am more hopeful of finding the next world class spinner

I am wondering whether the exit of Waqar as bowling coach has hurt Amir the bowler along with the others.

Definitely, Waqar was and is a damn good fast bowling coach he was short listed a while back for the role of AUS bowling coach to it just goes to show how respected he is in the cricketing community. It's such a shame that he wont be with the team any time soon having recently served as the head coach he'd not take on the role as bowling coach because it would be a big step down and an insult to his ego

Why can't the team be proactive and have Rahat and Imran fake injuries. Bring Asif and Irfan in for the next twoo games.

Showed a lot of heart to come back after getting injured.

Many bowlers would have holed up for the day.
