Sky making a crass comment about a terrorist attack
What crass statement did he make?..from when condemning terrorists and dedicating victory to the victims of terror attack from his own country a crass statement?..Are you supporting those terrorists?..

First let’s agree this. Do you want to debate like a rational person or do yo want to simply mouth off about what you believe regardless of context? Once I get your reply ill tell you.

First let me tell you I'm not here for the debate..and not discuss political things which country is right or wrong .
I'm more curious to know what you find crass in his statement..As a statement, i felt, his statements were assertive, selective in words with no direct or indirect attack on Pakistan people or its soldiers..Even in ground, except for avoiding handshakes, there were no demeaning behaviour by Indian players that has anything to do with the war ..so please clarify what you felt crass..

Ok. Saying we stand with Indian forces and the victims of pehelgam. I think there is no place for this on a cricket field in front of a packed stadium in front of the country with whom they are at war effectively. Yes he can think and feel whatever he wants away from that arena. But in that arena it is a politically charged statement and that’s exactly why sporting bodies refrain from political actions and statements.

Now tell me why you disagree in a rational way if indeed you’re a thinker.

Whatever the verdict, one thing is clear, Bhartiya board, media and janta need to boycott every single Pakistani player. 3rd grade players with an equally bad attitude, we won't miss out on much.

And what about the hygiene of Pakistan players who had to shake hands with Indian players in the past? Do they not matter on a humanity level?

SKY skipping handshakes with fellow professional sportsmen is the most classless act I have witnessed by a cricket player.
That was in poor taste, but were instructions passed on. The fun celebration however was totally a personal choice, and seemed to celebrate a terrorist attack like many posters do here quite openly.

You wouldn't be worried about that if you actually took a look at where your players come from. Might even be a slight upgrade.

First..standing with pahalgam victims- there is nothing wrong in saying standing with terror victims or dedicating the victory to terror victims who are mourning their personal losses..in past there were many such instances where sportsperson have addressed on terror attacks and mourned the loss of lives..so there is nothing wrong or crass about the statement.it only assures to the victims that the sportsperson care about them and respect their losses..

Second- dedicating victory to Armed forces- Armed forces not only does war things, they also does border security, eradication of terrorists, disaster and emergency management, social welfare..etc..they dedicate their lives so that we Indian sleep peacefully..As per Indian govt statements, nowhere it was mentioned as war with Pakistan, it was a precision attack on terrorists bases in pakistan which killed conspirators of Pahalgam attack( again here, I'm not going into the debate of whether it is true or false, which should be discussed seperately)..as it is so dedicating the victory to Armed forces for all their sacrifices and services in general with no mention of Pakistan as a statement is valid and nothing against sportsman spirit..it will be politically charged when there are any direct or indirect references to war or Pakistan like how Pakistan players did in the field..

As per me, as a statement, his words are more to address the indian diaspora who are questioning the match than to do with Pakistan..Its very well crafted statement and nothing crass about it..

That’s a real horror take.

Ok. You just illustrated my point beautifully. Thank you.

However airplane, machine gun celebration or showing 6-0 is very classy act..playing sport is the sportsmanship..skipping handshake is the most decent thing a sportsperson can do to the country with conflict..Even Ukrainian tennis players did the same against Russian and Belarus players at Wimbledon..no one raised sportsmanship or questioned them..their sentiments are acknowledged..many such instances in the past across sports where sportspersons refused handshakes..

Those are classless acts too, that’s the whole point.

No..what you said was skipping handshake was the most classless act..so according to you is what Pak players did was less worse than India not giving handshake..No sports force Players to do handshake for the sake of it..it should be voluntary and not symbolic..within your country, if 2 players are having personal conflict, and they have to play each other in a sport, they will play each other, but you can't force them to shake hands and resolve the conflict for the sake of sports..hope you understand..

'Dhoni, Kohli Also...': Sahibzada Farhan's Justification To Plead 'Not Guilty' At ICC

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan reportedly name-dropped Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni in his International Cricket Council (ICC) hearing over the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s complaint that he made ‘provocative gestures’ in the Asia Cup 2025 super-four clash between the teams.

Farhan hit a fifty in that game, which his team lost by six wickets. To celebrate the milestone, he pretended to fire a gun at his teammates in the dressing room. It was criticised as distasteful in India, with many feeling that he was referring to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in April, which was blamed on Pakistan without any proof, after Suryakumar Yadav dedicated India’s last win over the Men in Green to the victims.

According to PTI, Fahran told ICC that his gun-fire celebration was ‘a traditional way of celebrating in his ethnic Pakhtun tribe’. According to other reports, he said such celebrations are seen during joyous occasions in his community, including at weddings. He’s now said to be facing a fine ranging from 50-100% of his match fees.

Dhoni and Kohli have indeed made the gesture before. In 2005, Dhoni held his bat like a rifle to celebrate his second ODI hundred against Sri Lanka in Jaipur.

Kohli did it in 2024 during the IPL during a match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings. PBKS batter Rilee Rossouw had celebrated his milestones by miming gun shots in the air before, and Kohli replied with it by gesturing holding a gun with his hands when Rossouw got out.

Cricket isn’t the only sport where celebrations like this draw criticism. In the US, where gun violence is a huge issue, such gestures are even banned.

In India, the question was more about the timing of the gesture than anything else. So it needs to be seen how the BCCI reacts to it.

The teams will come up against each other again this Sunday when India takes on Pakistan in the final of the tournament. The games have already been more heated than ever and the emotions that a final brings might add more fuel to the fire.

Justice served I’d say.

All three (sky, Farhan and Rauf) were wrong. SKY’s act of no handshakes was the most classless and coming out of this episode he looks like the biggest loser out of the 3 idiots in my humble view.
