In the last 15 matches in Australia, England couldn't win any matches. At best they could draw few matches.

Aus has been super dominating team at home in the last 7-8 years when opposition is not India. Since 2018, Aus has W/L of 20 against all oppositions except India. In the last 15 matches in Australia, England couldn't win any matches. At best they could draw few matches.
England needs to stop dropping in Cannon fodder like Jake Ball, Chris Woakes, Jack Leach and so forth. What needs to be done is being done, a battery of pacers + maybe one okay spinner for SCG, and not just the traditional 80mph wonderful swing bowler that only works in Eng/SA/NZ but actual 85mph+ pacers. English legends (Root, Stokes) are gonna be desperate for a big series in Australia too.In the last 15 matches in Australia, England couldn't win any matches. At best they could draw few matches.

Next Ashes can be a perfect chance to Eng to do well and win the series in Aus. At least win some tests and draw the series if not win. Aus will have team legends on wrong side of 30s by then. Eng is looking good with new set of bowlers and Root/Brook are in top form. Everything going for Eng.
If Root scores couple of tons in Aus, it will go a long way in Eng doing well. It will also cement his legacy in cricket.
Agree with that. Battery of pace with 85 mph+ pace will be far more effective than swing bowlers with 80 mph.England needs to stop dropping in Cannon fodder like Jake Ball, Chris Woakes, Jack Leach and so forth. if the Ashes down under is ever to be competitive, it's this series
Yes, he needs to play better, but it has to be a team effort. Without that Eng won't win series.Root need to play better than ever in Aus to win the series. His ave is 36
Depends on the bowling. Currently aus batting is in shamblesRoot is missing the ashes trophy in Australia.. Can he win it this time???
They won’tDepends on the bowling. Currently aus batting is in shambles
If England can't beat this AUstralia which could have potentially lost to India despite India's oldies presence then they should be ashamed of themselves.Sorry, Joe.. but only India has the mental strength to beat Australia in Australia.
It is always recommended to know facts before making big claims. Last 4 test series result between the two teams:-Nothing really to prove to a side you’ve recently beaten 4-0, 3-1, 3-1
Indeed, the only 2 genuine rivalries in Cricket are Eng Vs Aus, and Pak Vs Ind - the rest of these rivalries are fabricated to appease the insecure.Whatever anyone says about new and manufactured rivalries etc, the Ashes has always been the pinnacle for England-Aus players. Maybe for about 15 years in the 90s and early 2000s, it became a bit meh for the Aussies, but since 2005 it’s all about the ashes again
England made a fantastic decision to try their bench strength in the last game vs India. Nothing really to prove to a side you’ve recently beaten 4-0, 3-1, 3-1
I think even England has moved past their failure to win the series. He is still coping. It is always recommended to know facts before making big claims. Last 4 test series result between the two teams:-
2-2 drawn
4-1 India won
2-2 drawn
3-1 India won
Overall: 11-6 India ahead.
That is BS theory some spread for coping lol. Especially Stokes is particular about winning every match everywhere. They trounced NZ in NZ. obliterated pakistan in pakistan before industrial fans came into picture.England should be very disappointed if they dont win. They treated every single series as preparation for the ashes down under.
Australia's batting is alot weaker now. Starc, Smith, Khawaja, Lyon are all nearing retirement, there isnt a better opportunity to win a series in Australia
We’re talking about in England. India haven’t reversed a defeat there for a long time. England are not bothered and the evidence is their team selection for the final match. It is always recommended to know facts before making big claims. Last 4 test series result between the two teams:-

Looks like that Oval game has left you lot scarred or something lol.
Sure England didn't care.. only that they still they managed to send out a man with a broken shoulder with an arm sling to help them win the game. I wonder why they did that if they're not bothered.![]()
They left the decision to Woakes and Woakes is definitely not a shoe in for the ashes, so he wanted to get some brownie points too. It is the Ashes after all, Chris desperately wants to be on that plane.
I’d love to tell our Indian friends that England tried to fight tooth and nail, but you need to be honest with your friends - it’s all about the Ashes. It’s always all about the Ashes
That’s the whole point - for him it was worth the risk. If he doesn’t make the ashes squad, what’s another few months of rehab."Chris Woakes was so desperate to get on the plane to Ashes that he had to risk getting injured for months and missing cricket by coming on to bat with a dislocated shoulder" . You need to proof read your posts before hitting that "post" button.
You guys got all hopeful and trigger happy when you thought India would lose 4-1 (and then 3-1) and when that didn't transpire , it's been a hilarious cope fest and it's painfully obvious.
I think even Ollie pope, Stokes have moved on lolThey left the decision to Woakes and Woakes is definitely not a shoe in for the ashes, so he wanted to get some brownie points too. It is the Ashes after all, Chris desperately wants to be on that plane.

Yea agreed they are both rubbish and slow coaches and we are not afraid to admit it. We want more, we demand more, we’re not cheerleaders. Our fast bowling is the worst it’s ever been. With friends like Sultan who needs enemies, as for hitting 140, remind us what speeds the Eagle and the beautiful bowler operate at even in 4 over stretches.....
Those in glass houses and all that again....
Yeah. They have set up with Australia in mind and have been building up to this moment for a long time.England should be very disappointed if they dont win. They treated every single series as preparation for the ashes down under.

How many times have I heard about Indian bowling peak, let's see...starting from Kapil to Srinath to Zaheer to Ishant to Umesh to Bumrah...Yea agreed they are both rubbish and slow coaches and we are not afraid to admit it. We want more, we demand more, we’re not cheerleaders. Our fast bowling is the worst it’s ever been.
Our standards are much higher.
But this is the best India have ever had in terms of bowling era. This is your bowling peak and you have bowlers struggling to hit 140. That’s the real embarassment

Voice of True fans can be heard on youtube videos. Akthar said something like "There are so many collapses. We have been collapsing since 1947" lolThe real embarassment is losing left right and centre to the likes of Bangladesh West Indies and getting knocked out of a World cup by a bunch of NRI Indians in the US. It's not winning or even drawing a single Test match in Australia for 3 decades running and having a 20-0 losing streak (again..not even a single draw) in SAF-AUS-NZ , the 15-1 WC record against your biggest rivals etc etc etc..

Even WI fans of the 80s wouldn't have had this level of arrogance lol. Empty vessels more noise or whatever.
Nothing better than sitting down and watching the Ashes starting at midnight.Indeed, the only 2 genuine rivalries in Cricket are Eng Vs Aus, and Pak Vs Ind - the rest of these rivalries are fabricated to appease the insecure.
It can only be considered a bonafide rivalry if both sides see each other as rivals, sadly for India, Australia sees and breathes only one rival, England. (India is seen as a cash cow).
Looking forward to the Ashes, and I'm also taking the plunge with a TNT PAYG subscription - just not looking forward to the women's commentary!![]()
Better commentators (apart from the women), better analysis, no cringe wannabe commentators trying their hand at “wit” or “vit”.
Nothing - just don’t enjoy listening to their commentary. Personal choice. What's wrong with women commentators in cricket ?
I don’t quite know what point you’re trying to make - I’m probably the harshest critic of the current Pakistan team. The real embarassment is losing left right and centre to the likes of Bangladesh West Indies and getting knocked out of a World cup by a bunch of NRI Indians in the US. There’s plenty of Male commentators I don’t enjoy listening to aswell - Harsha Bogle, Rameez Raja, Dinesh Karthik etc etc.
What’s it to you anyway. I mean you can like who you want. I’m glad you’re so interested in my preferences, but frankly who are you?So you don't like female or desi commentators, got it. No worries.

Spot on.Nothing better than sitting down and watching the Ashes starting at midnight.

It’s just good to see both England and Australia trying their hardest and not preparing for the next Ashes. This is where you get to watch the best English and Aussie players. Awesome!
Poor little teenda, nearly every record of his has an asterisk!Spot on.
Being in IT I often burn the midnight oil, and the Ashes down under will be the perfect backdrop! Though the last thing I want to hear is a nagging wet wipe commentator who’s pretending to have faced a 90mph bouncer in her life.
Fun fact : It was a woman who first scored an official ICC double century in an ODI - Belinda Clarke - 229* in 1997 vs Denmark. Of course only possible with the boundaries about 50 min in, but it wasn’t Tendulkar who scored the first double century in ODIs.![]()
It gets worse for the cult of Sachinistas.Poor little teenda, nearly every record of his has an asterisk!
First to a double century in ODIs…well actually a lady did it before he did.
So called hundred hundreds - oh yea the 100th was against a minnow…and errm in a losing cause!
Series vs India was just practise for the Ashes.Clearly Ashes is most important for England and Australia. Not the series vs India which will hurt Indians.
The fact that Jofra was even brought back for this series is proof of how seriously England were about practicing for the Ashes. Got him some much needed match practice.Series vs India was just practise for the Ashes.
Stokes and Jofra rested for final teat just goes to show what they think of India.
You will never in your Sunday dreams see Stoke and Jofra sit out vs Australia.
In fact, I would go as far as saying the final test was a stick and carrot move by the ECB. The carrot being the draw of course.
Got the monies, to hell with BCCI!![]()
I would say England played this royally, almost Queen Victoria style. The fact that Jofra was even brought back for this series is proof of how seriously England were about practicing for the Ashes. Got him some much needed match practice.
Jofra proved he is available for Ashes selection. They would have never risked Jofra cold in the Ashes.
England played this expertly.
Clearly Ashes is most important for England and Australia. Not the series vs India which will hurt Indians.
I think y'all have mentioned this about 900 times now this month. Never seen such dedication to putting out a message.
As i said even Stokes, Nasser, Atkinson have moved on lol This has caused enormous pyshcologocal damage to some
You may not know, I'm quite a busy person and don't have the luxury of time like some others, such as @ Rana who manages to post 900 RizBar related messages every month. That being said, could you assist me in finding the remaining 899 posts?I think y'all have mentioned this about 900 times now this month. Never seen such dedication to putting out a message.
Never seen a bunch of more immature and insecure fans.SRT still living rent free in the minds of hurt PPers a decade on from retirement.....
More than the lack of centuries it is the average that is surprising. closer inspection reveals out of the 25 dismissals 17 dismissals were either by edge to keeper or slip. (10 to keepers). Seems like he is fishing a lot in Australia.

He has issues against bounce. I know he can manage. His staple shot is dab to third man much like it is for Kane. Both are risky shots in Australia. You can't play with angled bat. You have to play square of the wicket than straight bat or angled bat. More than him Brook is likely to score more. Just a guess.Don't know but I have a gut feeling, this will be his best Aus tour
Averages count more than centuries. An average of 35.68 in Australia is very, very poor for a high quality Test batsman.
Every run will bring him closer to knocking off the most overrated batsman in history off his pirch.Don't know but I have a gut feeling, this will be his best Aus tour

Apart from Archer, who is very injury-prone (might not play more than 2-3 Ashes tests), the rest of the English pace attack does not look penetrative enough to me for Aussie bouncy pitches. Wood is another bowler whose career has been riddled with fitness/injury issues. Bowlers like Tongue and Woakes might thrive more in the seam-friendly conditions of New Zealand + England lacks a quality spinner. Spinners generally do well in Sydney.
You'd be better off advising those insecure Pakistani trolls.GUYS, PLEASE READ THE TITLE OF THE THREAD AGAIN
