Just seeing him on the balcony, he is not happy with the Irfan situation.
Keep your heads down lads when you're getting back to the changing rooms.
He only just realised what a big mess he has gotten himself into. Absolute rubbish team
you replace one unfit player with another one, blame is on you coach

This, basically. He is the one who decided to play Irfan. What does he want him to do? Stop being cramped?

Did Mickey Arthur select Irfan.. a coach can only work with the tools he has been provided
I can understand his frustration as no professional cricketer should have to keep going off the field as much as Irfan does.
Good to see someone having little bit of passion. It's shocking to see Azhar ali laughing on the field
Surely there must be a fitness process that should be followed before a player is sent?

He was given a 15 men squad with 5 fast bowlers.
Endy, usually your posts are pretty good. Here, I'm afraid you're not using your brain. It is not the coach's job to sift through who is injured or not. If you're a part of the 15-man squad, you're fit. A coach will operate under the assumption that whoever the selection committee has sent is fit (unless, he has picked up an injury on tour).
Irfan has been unfit for his whole career. Surely we expect Mickey Arthur to do a minimum of research about his players? Irfan has always been played despite his poor fitness due to the fact that he picks up wickets. That's also why Inzamam selected him. If Mickey doesn't like that, he shouldn't play Irfan and tell Inzamam so.
Your comment indicates to me that you have no idea what the role of a coach is. The research and whatever fitness checks there are happen at the selection committee. A coach will always work under the assumption that the 15-man squad that he has to work with is the best possible squad. Irfan wasn't just unfit, he was injured.
Irfan and Asad were rushed to England in 2010
Same results then.
Irfan does not travel well - he needs time to acclimatize. Other players have been here for Ireland games etc.

I'm sorry matey but this has nothing to do with acclimitising. The guy could barely jog after 5 overs? The wide ball he sent down was at 75mph. Even i can bowl that speed but land it properly with a bit of movement at 21 years of age. And i play club cricket for fun on a Saturday! For a fast bowler playing International cricket to do that is appalling while being paid for and having full resources such as NCA. We're a laughing stock.
Wahab and amir have bowl in the test series too,no point playing them in a dead rubber.
Pak selectors select irfan they should have select someone who can actually bowl 10 overs.
If he doesn't care enough about dead rubber to play his best team then why is he getting angry?
Your post is very bizarre. Nasser on air said that irfan last bowled in a competitive match in April. That was a t20 so four overs in about 4 months and then he's expected to get on a plane halfway around the world and bowl in a competitive match against one of the fittest and battle hardened outfits in world cricket. You have to be fair when commenting. Mickey is one of the best coaches in the world and certainly not a tool. The selectors have put the team in this situation and they are culpable and it's neither mickey or azhars fault. You can only go with the squad that has been selected.
We have way too many left armers.
Yeah because Irfan put a gun on Mickey's head to play him over the 4 fast bowlers and one spinner in the squad.
how is Arthur supposed to know irfan cant last 50 overs? Yes he does have history but surely its selectors job to make sure they are sending someone who is fit to last a full 50 overs

The only mugs here are Inzamam and Mickey Arthur who went with Irfan and had any expectation of him lasting a match.
Do they live under a rock to not know his injury record and how he is made of glass. Do they expect that as he gets older somehow things will work inverse with him and he will magically get fitter.
The fact is that Mohammad irfan is a con artist masquerading as a front line bowler who has been taking Pakistan fans and several Pakistan team managements for a ride for half a decade now

Saj don't you think his frustration was directed towards the selectors.
Like come on, all the guy asked was for fit fast bowler to join up with the squad and what they send him is a bowler who couldn't walk after his initial spell of 6 overs.
Fair enough Micky has only just joined up with the team and doesn't know players fitness levels, but surely the selectors should have identified that Irfan was never the right man to send as replacement especially as Irfan was dropped from the team initially for fitness issues.
After all the problems the ODI team is having, the last thing Micky expected was for the selectors to send a half fit bowler after he made it clear the bowlers they already had on the tour were not fit enough.

Isnt the MCG wkt a drop-in pitch these days ? or am I confusing it with some other venue ?
Yes, they almost all are in Australia now, and that's the problem.
If you look at the red ball Tests in Australia in the last two seasons, these are the First Innings scores that teams (apart from the West Indies) made:
2014-15
Adelaide: 517 and 444
Brisbane: 408 and 555
MCG: 530 and 465
SCG: 572-7d and 475
2015-16
Brisbane: 556-4d and 317
Perth: 559-9d and 624
Hobart: 583-4d
MCG: 551-3d
SCG: 176-2d
Enormous scores are being made on the drop-in pitches in Australia, due to the combination of slower than usual grassless pitches and the red Kookaburra ball with its inert seam and tendency to go soft after 20 overs.
I was at the Gabba Test between Australia and New Zealand ten months ago. The most notable feature was that Trent Boult and Doug Bracewell were too short to get anything out of the pitch, whereas Josh Hazlewood was tall enough to get disconcerting bounce.
The only Pakistan bowlers tall enough and quick enough to bowl such a "heavy ball" are Wahab Riaz (who is borderline too short), Umar Gul (again borderline for height) and Ehsan Adil and Mohammad Irfan who both have suspect stamina.
Trent Boult is a highly skillful bowler, and the fact that he had bowling figures in Australia with the red ball of:
29-3-127-1
8-0-61-1
26-2-123-2
19-2-77-2
.....makes me strongly suspect that bowlers like Mohammad Amir cannot succeed this summer, apart from in the pink ball Test.
Taking the coach of Pakistan is always a super hit or you will be at the bottom of the pit. Probably he has realized what mess he himself got into and why others don't want job of coaching Pakistan. It can destroy a resume and can become a big negative impact.
Till now, he failed miserably. In test, Pakistan is strong without even a coach.
0 - 4 mickey as if now.
its nt like others didnt want it
This actually makes a lot of sense.Compare it to other boards. It is countable in fingers.
It is just basic logic. With the domestic setup, senior culture, and outside interference will always hinder the job of a coach in PCB. Even if you see a a remedy, you may not go ahead due to factors not related to cricket.
Then comes results like these. But when your tenure is over, in the next interview, it'll reflect in the resume. The next board won't consider what difficulties you faced but what were your results were.
Mickey probably took this job because he had something to prove after the disaster in his last position.
It is either a do or die for him.

Not sure what kindve person mickey is. Is he gonna stick around for long for his resume to get damaged to improve pakistans team, or is he going to resign early and give up on the team.
Hard to judge whatmore with this because he had 2 chuckers at his disposal, so we never know if whatmore would have resigned early if 2 cheats weren't in the team, Pakistan would have easily replicated these performances, worse in tests as Ajmal was key in test wins.
Yes Ajmal was cleared in the past, but that actually shows how incompetent the system in place was for the rule.Saeed Ajmal has been cleared by the ICC and Hafeez will undergo a test soon
Once again, this style of posting shows deep seated bias against Pakistan and is absolutely deplorable.
