Really sad. I've seen my share of dirty planes after a long flight but the images here are truly shocking.

PIA should impose a hefty fine on the passengers and repeat offenders must be put on a no-fly list.

Airline staff had their hands full Wednesday after passengers on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight thoughtlessly left behind piles of trash in the plane.

The PIA flight back from London was delayed because the plane had to be deep cleaned, a PIA spokesperson shared.

Pictures of the mess left behind by the passengers are being circulated across social media.

PIA has its fair share of problems as an institution but the passengers come onto flight with an attitude that everyone else is beneath them. Many passengers come on wanting to fight with the staff, tear apart the plane and even fight with other passengers. There is very little consideration given to the surrounding environment.

I have had several bad experiences with PIA that are solely down to passengers not wanting to control their kids, thinking that the seats are recliner seats and pushing them all flight, or just general bad behaviour. One notable event is going to the bathroom ( with my stuff on the seat) and upon coming back finding my stuff on the floor and the passenger sitting beside me asleep and using my seat as a resting place for his legs and feet.

Unfortunately, this has then become a catch-22 situation where they have by default anticipated that passengers are going to be rude and adopt a confrontational attitude to even the most basic request.

Find a different airline to fly with folks.

Worst plane and people to fly with
If I have to visit Pakistan I use emirates

That is Pakistani people in general. They have no concept of cleanliness especially in public spaces.

You will see people throw garbage in the middle of the road and spit everywhere. If you are in Karachi that spit will be red because of paan.

There is no concept of proper disposition of waste. In fact you will rarely find trash cans in public spaces in Pakistan because the entire place is viewed as a trash can. You can throw waste wherever you want.

Fly Qatar , Emirates , Turkish etc. only ever flew PIA once, never again, the rude staff and even ruder passengers mixing together is a recipe for disaster

Both partiets are to be blamed;

The supplier’s lack of proper service is shocking. When you finally come to your seat, the flight could be one hour delayed and no information are given to the passengers. Often a VIP is late and the whole plane has to wait for him.

PIA have had monoply on flights from many countries abroad and they have had decent earnings but all the money have been vanished because of corruption. That money should have been invested in better facilities for the customers.

And many customers never follow the rules and regulations. That is a big challenge in our community. We are just looking for bargains and our own benefits no matter which field.

There is so much to write about on this topic and this also put good people in a bad frame.

The passengers who did this should be put on no-fly list with PIA. People need to learn not to behave like animals. PIA is not the best and has its own issues but this behavior cannot be justified.

You can just imagine the state of these people's houses.

Absolutely disgusting.

I don’t know why some posters are panning PIA for these sad pictures. They are not a decent airline anymore, but this mess is created by the passengers, majority of whom are Pakistanis.

Pretty disgusting!

I recall being at Manchester Airport when a friend of mine was flying to Pakistan.

He was waiting in the queue for his flight to check in and I was nearby.

What I saw that day was an eye-opener - people trying to push in, people fighting in the queue, people throwing all sorts of rubbish on the floor including food, people fighting with staff. Worse than animals!

Believe me, their houses are completely fine. If they do this in their houses then they have to take the cost and time themselves to clean it up so they will never do this. This will only happen on other’s properties and on the streets.

I dont blame the people who litter in public in pakistan....

Over the years i have many foreingers and students do the pr tamasha of cleaning certain areas of the city and try to promote clean environment, but those are just foolish pr stunts.

If you want to keep places clean, install dustbin. Install public garbage bins.

The govt and city authorities dont place garbage bins. Even if they do place a bin the public areas it would be a single bin covering a whole football field.

There are probably rats in there too. Naya Pakistan everyone:13: British Airways was so clean when I visited Pak so very recently:mv

This is true.

It depends on where you're flying to though, most flights I've been on to the gulf had mostly Indian people especially from the south and it wasn't a different story, just add the scent of coconut oil and spices and it makes for a nauseating flight.

Most of my experiences via PIA on international flights have not been good. Even worse are Pakistani male passengers, they misbehave and try to take their chances with the Pakistani airhostesses something which they will never dare to do or even try with a gori airhostess. Plus Pakistani men fight with each other over very trivial minor things which they will not dare to do if there was a gora passenger on board.

I think it is mandatory to have police, law enforcement and maybe army soldiers on board PIA flights to guard against unruly passengers

Sheer ignorance.

If they were fined, they would soon stop this type of junglee behaviour.
