[PICTURES] PSL 2025 Draft - Discussion Thread

Silver picks are the ones where I think nepotism plays the most role.

Won't be surprised if Faham & Talat hussain's son get picked

Platinum picks of first PSL draft in Dec, 2015.

Shane Watson, Andre Russell, Misbah-ul-Haq
Shoaib Malik, Shakib al Hasan, Sohail Tanvir
Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Darren Sammy
K. Pietersen, Sarfraz Ahmed, Ahmad Shehzad
Chris Gayle, Umar Akmal, Dwayne Bravo

PSL instead growing it has becomes very low level league.

Maaz Sadaqat has been picked.

Likely to open with M.Haris.

Inshallah

Unfortunately Bobsy will likely not allow that.

People: High Ali, do you want Mitchell, Hendricks, Kane, Rassie?

Ali Tareen: oh no baba I have too many right handers, I need more lefties babaaa

*goes on to pick only right handed batters and one bowling all-rounder in Bracewell

Sultans retained the wrong players

Muhammad Ali
Abbas Afridi
Khushdil Shah
Iftikhar Ahmed
Usman Khan

These 5 were worth retaining. The rest could have been released and they could have picked a much better squad.

Why Rameez jr not picked by LQ in emerging? Ideal replacement or someone who can play ahead of Rishad

A reporter suggesting to the PCB to do away with this tender culture for broadcasting and organizing the PSL draft and to instead pay top dollar to foreign companies. Pakistani local companies are habitually unreliable and not up to it.

Ali Tareen had said this. Because PSL comes under PCB and PCB is under government. The law says you have to accept the cheapest bid when you do tender.

I was excited to see this morning who was chosen for the drafts but i feel a tad dissapointed to see who was NOT picked.

So how do the supplementary play? Only if players are injured or have to go away?

I’m pretty sure they can play without any conditions. I remember Billings was picked in Supplementary and he played every game for LQ

Some reporters are saying the PCB is considering rewarding the existing psl franchise owners by rewarding them going forward and willing to grant them perpetual rights to the franchise and to do away with the franchise fee culture so that they can improve profitability and be motivated to increase their investments in the franchises. New franchises however will be required to pay a fee for a couple of years.

Seems Karachi Kings are the biggest winners of the draft. Will be interesting to see how they blow it this time.

Seems like some Serie A type plan, will be not long when some franchise go bankrupt and is wiped out unlike football clubs who can start from Serie D or Conference league

Multan’s supplementary picks:

Jonson Charles and Shai Hope

2 more right handlers. What have the Sultans been smoking in this draft?

Multan’s 3 overseas batters:

Bracewell
Charles
Hope

This is so depressing. Especially considering all the yap their owner gave in the build up!

Aamer Azmat always picked by Multan predictably

Most overrated ‘power hitter’

Note: Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi have reserved their picks from this round.

Note: Sam Billings was picked by Lahore Qalandars using 'Right to Match' against Islamabad United.
