[PICTURES] Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (2019/20) | Round 1 | 14th-17th Sep, 2019 | Matches Thread

First time I'm really looking forward to the Quaid-e-Azam trophy. Should be more competitive than before, and finally easier to get behind a team, since it's based in regions.

So after the group stage, will there be semi-finals or just the final?

Maybe these domestic will actually start getting some viewership and attendance with fairly strong and competitive rosters.

Does anyone know why Mohammad Hasnain hasn't returned to Pakistan for QeA (he is still playing in CPL).

Bowling attack is really poor, I guess this tournament will weed out the trundlers who normally get exposed at international level.

If Sami Aslam and Shaan Masood don't score hundred here then they shouldn't be playing for Pakistan again... Proper Phatta pitch

Alhamdulilah the camera quality has improved. But there is no scorecard and speed gun (but things slowly improve)

lol the scorecard appeared for a few seconds, and it said faheem ashrafs bowling figures was 0-34 but he hasn't even bowled yet

Waqas Maqsood looks trash, completely nonthreatening and no real plan or discipline. Hasan on the other hand looks threatening, but is bowling wayward at times.

Boring match with these trundlers

Hasan Ali is a trundler as well

He was brutally exposed when he played for Pakistan

Strong feeling that most of our domestic bowlers are the same. The likes of Sadaf Hussain etc will be exposed on these pitches, might not be around next year.

Good for Pakistan cricket, more and more players will be exposed and fans like us will be asking for their head if they dont perform...

Shan plays around it. Bad technique, trying to on drive a ball pitching off/4th stump swinging in. Good ball though.

Jeez that was a bad dismissal from Shan, might have seamed in a touch but the gap between bat and pad

This QeA trophy will act as a filter for the useless fast bowlers who only did well because of bad pitches and grays ball.

Decent ball from Waqas, but Shan made a mess of it, tried on-driving it, and head fell over. Should've gotten behind the ball and defended it.

I feel sorry for Babar. People will be quick to criticise his captaincy but he can't do anything if he has been given a bowling attack like this.

I don't think it's a good wicket at all.

The surface is soft and the wicket is built on loose base. For added grass, new ball is carrying, but I am afraid it'll get lower & slower by day 3. We might see a result here, but the cricket'll be boring and in 2nd innings % of LBW/Bowled should be significantly high. After first two hours, it'll be easier for batsmen to survive (read block on front foot), but cricket will in slow mo - perfect track for Azhar Ali.

Early season, and the monsoon isn't over yet, but if Aga Zahid has to justify his statement, lots of work needs to be done. Unless they relay the wicket block with rock hard base, it won't improve. Also, I see a bit of tennis ball like bounce, which suggests, the soil layer on top surface might be too thick - ideally it shouldn't be more than 6, may be 8 inches, but it's probably over a foot. Punjab has the best soil in south Asia for preparing wickets, still it's unfortunate that they are struggling for so many years. Atkinson prepared some of the best tracks in early 2000s on same grounds.

Lets hope Sadaf Hussain gets exposed to make way for Haris Rauf. Good to see that Musa has been given an opportunity. KPK should have picked Umer Khan though.

It is shambolic to see no matches being played at diamond cricket club, the best pitches in Pakistan. Poor from PCB

It’s a good pitch hope it spins later on.
Standard of batting though is worrisome. Poor techniques and lack of confidence is so evident

When everyone's been posting saying that the trundlers will be exposed but really the average batsmen are getting exposed first.

Useless batting. The average batsmen are being exposed. The patience of the batsmen is being tested and they are failing badly. Before bad performances were put down to bad pitches and the grays ball. Now that's not an excuse

LMAO. They bad pitches they said, the ball they said, the bowlers are trundlers they said. Or how about the batsman are just BAD, LMAO you've cut the players pay for this? There are less players playing for this? LMAO Pak cricket is going down the doldrums.

Disappointing staff so far - only 25 overs in a session with 8 being bowled by spinners and just 1 extra!!!! PCB should impose strict over-rate fine, because in PAK winter, max we can get is 330-340 minutes playing time.

When your U19 batsmen are getting smashed by Aghanistan then what do you expect?

That Afghanistan bowling attack is actually very good I mean they almost defended 120 against India. Such a cheap excuse and shows how much of failure people like yourself and those in PCB with the 'Vision of the Anointed' have been because they think they know better than they actually because looking at this system it is simply not sustainable due the lack of players playing and the very little PCB are actually paying them. The departments will be back sooner rather than later whether you like it or not.

My point is extremely important. Tell me how many batsmen of U19 2016 and 2018 WC have done well at first class level? None of them.

The quality batsmen isn't coming and it is very evident watching this match.
