What is the height of Naseem Shah?

Is he shorter than Amir?

he looked abt two, three inches taller than salman butt who is 5'8 i think, so pbly 5'10, 5'11, height shouldnt be a problem for him if he increases his pace a bit and maintains his control. looked very measured today.

I'm pretty sure he's 5'11 or 6'0, but he's only 16 so he could grow.
I do not think he is more then 5-10 maybe even 9.5 but definitely he is taller then Hassan Ali. However it's his skills that stand out the action is beautiful and bowls with a lot of control.

Ashfaq, Adil fightback keep Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alive.

Lahore, 22 September 2019:

An unbeaten 92-run partnership between Ashfaq Ahmed and Adil Amin took pressure off Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as they were 97 for two in their reply of Sindh’s mammoth 476 for nine on day two of the four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi.

Right-arm medium-fast bowlers Sohail Khan and Tabish Khan struck early in the second innings of the match to reduce the visiting party to five for two before Ashfaq and Adil weathered the storm.

Ashfaq batted on 28 from 75 balls and Adil, who hit nine fours and a six in the 98 balls he faced, had 63 runs next to his name when the stumps were drawn on the second day’s play.

Resuming their day on the overnight score of 254 for two, Sindh lost wickets at regular intervals, thanks to Sameen Gul (20-7-50-3) and Adil Amin (28-1-81-5). Omair Bin Yousuf, adding 41 runs to his overnight score, hit a 298-ball 174 with 18 fours and three sixes. Captain Asad Shafiq scored his career’s 43rd first-class half-century with a 154-ball 81 that had seven fours and a six.

A solid century by Fawad Alam put Sindh in control of the innings. The 33-year-old hit an unbeaten 100 from 138 balls, embellished by eight fours and a six, and knitted an undefeated 108-run stand for the last wicket with fast-bowler Mir Hamza (15).

Sindh were awarded four batting points for being at 355 for the loss of seven when 110 overs of their first innings were completed, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got two points.

Scores in brief:

Sindh 476-9d, 148.5 overs (Omair Bin Yousuf 174, Fawad Alam 100 not out, Asad Shafiq 81, Khurram Manzoor 40, Saud Shakil 25; Adil Amin 5-81, Sameen Gul 3-50)

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 97-2, 31 overs (Adil Amin 63 not out, Ashfaq Ahmed 28 not out)

Umar, Imran lead Southern Punjab’s fightback

Quetta, 22 September 2019:

Umar Siddiq and Imran Rafiq put on an unbeaten fourth-wicket stand of 110 runs to lead a fightback for Southern Punjab against Balochistan in their four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match on Sunday.

Replying to the home team’s huge first innings score of 500-9 declared in 130.5 overs, Southern Punjab ended the second day at the Bugti Stadium on 161-3 in 41 overs. They still trail by 339 runs.

The left-handed batting pair of Umar and Imran pulled their team out of trouble after they were reduced to 51-3 in the 15th over.

Umar, who was unbeaten on 67 and had smashed nine fours and a six, and Imran, 56 not out with the help of 11 fours, batted when the stumps were drawn on the second day’s play.

Southern Punjab suffered early blows when they lost captain Shan Masood (6) and last match’s double century-maker Sami Aslam (20) with just 37 runs on the board. Things worsen for the visitors when Sohaib Maqsood (10) was run out before Umar and Imran steadied ship.

Umar Gul and Yasir Shah were the two wicket takers for Balochistan as they picked up a wicket each.

Earlier, Balochistan added a further 153 runs for the loss of five wickets to their overnight score of 347-4 before captain Imran Farhat decided to declare their innings.

Azeem Ghumman, who began the day’s proceedings on an unbeaten 143, was the sixth batsman out for a well-played 163. The right-handed opener’s 10th century in first-class cricket included 16 boundaries. He stayed at the wicket for 520 minutes and faced 336 balls.

Ammad Butt scored a boundary-laden 54 batting at No. 7. He hit nine fours and two sixes. Bismillah Khan (32) and Yasir Shah (31) also added useful runs.

Left-arm spinner Mohammad Irfan was Southern Punjab’s leading wicket-taker, claiming five wickets for 131 runs. This was his 15th five-wicket haul at this level.

Balochistan earned five batting points for scoring 400 or more runs in 110 overs. Southern Punjab got 1 bowling point.

The match continues on Monday from 10am.

Scores in brief:

Balochistan 500-9, 130.5 overs (Azeem Ghumman 163, Imran Farhat 117, Imran Butt 66, Ammad Butt 54; Mohammad Irfan 5-131, Bilawal Bhatti 2-104)

Southern Punjab 161-3, 41 overs (Umar Siddiq 67 not out, Imran Rafiq 56 not out)

Northern forced to follow-on in Faisalabad

Faisalabad, 22 September 2019:

After pilling up an impressive 433 all-out in the first innings, Central Punjab squeezed Northern to 114 and enforced follow-on on the second day of the four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy second round encounter at the Iqbal stadium in Faisalabad.

Resuming their innings on 369 for five, the home side got bundled out in 107.5 overs.

Captain Azhar Ali, the overnight batsman, added 45 runs more to his score to register a 262-ball 155, embellished with 13 fours.

Left-arm spinner Nauman Ali and right-arm fast-bowler Musa Khan accounted for Central Punjab’s four and three wickets respectively.

After the culmination of the first innings, Central Punjab bagged five bonus points while Northern accumulated three.

Northern’s batting failed to find feet from the onset as Ehsan Adil and Zafar Gohar had uprooted half the side by Tea with just 59 runs on the board.

The visiting party’s woes continued and they were all-out for a mere 114 in 60.3 overs, which added three more points to Central Punjab’s tally. The highest score of the innings was 17.

Northern, on Monday, will start their second innings with the deficit of 319 runs.

Scores in brief:

Central Punjab 433 all-out, 107.5 overs (Kamran Akmal 157, Azhar Ali 155, Saad Nasim 31, Rizwan Hussain 30; Nauman Ali 4-104, Musa Khan 3-78, Raza Hasan 2-94)

Northern 114 all-out, 60.3 overs (Raza Hasan 20, Nauman Ali 17, Umar Amin 12, Umar Waheed 12; Zafar Gohar 4-36, Ehsan Adil 3-15, Bilal Asif 2-13)

Gohar must have to be damn unlucky if he can’t make the SRL Test series, should have been in ODI leg as well. Bowling beautifully with an inward drift towards right handers, that Waquas ball could have done many top orders.

Do you think Misbah will give him a go as he was not in favour of Nawaz inclusion in test squad even when he was a captain.

Once again Saad Ali (1) and Saud Shakeel (25) dissapoint and is Saud Shakeel an all-rounder or a batsman or bats really low in the order

Naseem Shah currently bowling and his first deliveries had good carry to wicket keeper and looks like decent pace (wish they had a speed gun)

Probably the best suited Pakistan bowler for the upcoming World Test Championship matches in Australia.

Of any Pakistani.

Kamran Akmal at his very best, jumping away from the ball and sticking out a hand to grab it.

Central Punjab beat Northern by innings and 100 runs

Faisalabad, 23 September 2019:

Central Punjab registered a comprehensive win over Northern in the second round of the four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match at the Iqbal Stadium as the Azhar Ali-led side beat Umar Amin’s men by a whopping margin of an innings and 100 runs with a day spare.

Northern began their second innings when the play resumed today after being forced to follow-on on Sunday. Their batting fortunes, however, did not change as they were skittled out for 219 in 66.3 overs.

Off-spinner Bilal Asif was the main tormentor as he picked up four wickets for 57 runs. Slow left-arm Zafar Gohar added three more wickets to his tally to return seven for 123 in the match.

Hammad Azam (38), Haider Ali (33) and Waqas Ahmed (28) were prominent scorers for Northern.

Central Punjab bagged a total of 24 points – five batting points, three bowling points and 16 for an outright win. Northern take only three points.

Central Punjab will travel to Quetta to play Balochistan in their third round contest, beginning on 28 September. Northern host Sindh at the KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Scores in brief:

Central Punjab 433 all-out, 107.5 overs (Kamran Akmal 157, Azhar Ali 155, Saad Nasim 31, Rizwan Hussain 30; Nauman Ali 4-104, Musa Khan 3-78, Raza Hasan 2-94)

Northern 114 all-out, 60.3 overs (Raza Hasan 20; Zafar Gohar 4-36, Ehsan Adil 3-15, Bilal Asif 2-13) and 219 all-out, 66.3 overs (Hammad Azam 38, Haider Ali 33, Waqas Ahmed 28, Musa Khan 27 not out; Bilal Asif 4-57, Zafar Gohar 3-87, Ehsan Adil 2-15)

Southern Punjab under pressure against Balochistan

Quetta, 23 September 2019:

Southern Punjab were struggling to avoid defeat at the hands of Balochistan on the third day of their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy first-class clash at the Bugti Stadium on Monday.

The visitors were tottering at 132 for three in 33 overs in their second innings, with Umar Siddiq and first innings centurion Imran Rafiq batting on 26 and 16, when stumps were drawn for the day after being forced to follow-on..

Overnight 161 for three, Southern Punjab were bowled out for 308 in 94.4 overs in the first innings. That was in reply to Balochistan’s only innings of 500-9 declared.

The Shan Masood-led side needs 60 more runs to make the home team bat again.

After a solid 84-run opening-stand between Shan (45) and Sami Aslam (37), Southern Punjab lost three wickets in quick succession which reduced them to 97 for three.

Test leg-spinner Yasir Shah dismissed both the openers to have figures of two for 46.

Earlier, Imran Rafiq, who was 56 not out overnight, completed his third century in first-class cricket to help Southern Punjab cross the 300-run mark in the first innings.

The left-handed batsman remained not out on 110, facing 239 deliveries and hitting 19 fours and a six. He stayed at the wicket for 345 minutes.

Umar Siddiq failed to add to his overnight score of 67.

Imran stitched a 92-run stand for the seventh wicket with Bilawal Bhatti, who cracked 11 fours in his 57.

Balochistan’s Mohammad Asghar, the slow left-arm, returned figures of three for 41, while Umar Gul, Taj Wali and Yasir Shah took two wickets each

Southern Punjab and Balochistan earned three points each from the second innings of the match.

Scores in brief:

Balochistan 500-9, 130.5 overs (Azeem Ghumman 163, Imran Farhat 117, Imran Butt 66, Ammad Butt 54; Mohammad Irfan 5-131, Bilawal Bhatti 2-104)

Southern Punjab 308 all-out, 94.4 overs (Imran Rafiq 110 not out, Umar Siddiq 67, Bilawal Bhatti 57; Mohammad Asghar 3-41, Umar Gul 2-31, Taj Wali 2-50, Yasir Shah 2-126) and after follow-on 132-3, 33 overs (Shan Masood 45, Sami Aslam 37, Umar Siddiq 26 not out; Yasir Shah 2-46)

Lahore, 23 September 2019:

A gutsy century by Ashfaq Ahmed, his second in as many matches, saw Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to 296 for six against Sindh before the third day’s play had to be called off due to rain at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi.

Resuming his innings on 28, with his team on 97 for two, the 32-year-old batsman scored 113 off 257 balls, 15 of them going for fours.

His overnight partner, Adil Amin – who finished with 70 runs from 127 balls – added only seven more runs as the 111-run stand between the two for the third wicket came to an end.

Ashfaq, however, held the other end for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and stitched a crucial fifth-wicket partnership worth 97 runs with all-rounder Zohaib Khan, who was not out on 70 after facing 149 balls.

With 21 runs from 41 balls, Umar Khan was the other unbeaten batsman before the day had to be ended.

For Sindh, slow left-arm Kashif Bhatti took three wickets, leaking 99 runs. Right-arm medium-fast Tabish Khan, who had taken one wicket yesterday, added another wicket to his tally.

Scores in brief:

Sindh 476-9d, 148.5 overs (Omair Bin Yousuf 174, Fawad Alam 100 not out, Asad Shafiq 81, Khurram Manzoor 40, Saud Shakil 25; Adil Amin 5-81, Sameen Gul 3-50)

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 296-6, 107 overs (Ashfaq Ahmed 113, Adil Amin 70, Zohaib Khan 70 not out, Umar Khan 21 not out; Kashif Bhatti 3-99, Tabish Khan 2-65)

Hopefully Omair can score big again, we are in desperate need of a quality test opener and this guy has potential.

just shows how useless our bowling is at the moment. If you can get wickets here then you should be considered for test cricket inmho.

Match drawn.

Southern Punjab 381 all out. Adnan Akmal 82, Aamer Yamin 61. Yasir Shah 5/104.

Balochistan are 37/0 and need 190 to win. Probably won't be enough time.

That was a good battle between Balochistan and Southern Punjab.

SP needed to bat out just enough time to deny Balochistan a win.

Sindh v Khyber Pakhtunkhwa end in a draw

Lahore, 24 September 2019:

All-rounder Zohaib Khan’s unbeaten 244-ball 110 helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secure a draw against Sindh in the second round match of the four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at the UBL Sports Complex.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, however, collected three batting points for being at 300 for six in 110 overs. Earlier in the match, Sindh had secured four batting points for crossing the 350-run mark in 110 overs in their first innings.

Both teams bagged two bowling points and five points for drawing the match.

Their only wicket to fall was Khurram Manzoor (4). Omair Bin Yousuf, the centurion of the previous innings, and Saad Ali batted at 34 and 40 when both captains shook their hands.

This goes down as the second consecutive draw for both sides.

In the third round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which commences on 28 September, Sindh travel to Rawalpindi to face Northern at the KRL Stadium and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in what will be an away game for them, play Southern Punjab in Abbottabad.

Chief Destroyer, what do you make of Ehsan Adil? Rate him? Been a bit on and off past few seasons but if he carries on performing he might be on the plane to Australia but I don’t really know what to make of him.

Don't like him. He's mentally weak and always drags the ball to the right. He struggles to keep his body on a straight-line path.

Zafar Gohar has out performed Yasir. Yasir shouldn't be taken to Australia, they should just have Shadab in the playing XI as the only spinner, and if needed then Zafar can also play, Yasir will be a failure there.

You are absolutely 1000% correct: it is absolute insanity to take Yasir Shah to Australia.

The spinner will play at Brisbane and Adelaide almost entirely as a specialist batsman.

I’d go for Shadab Khan, but after that either Zafar Gohar or even a roller like Imad Wasim.

Yeah Shadab has shown a lot of potential with the bat and has good technique. He has played a couple of match saving knocks already in Test and ODIs. If he can improve more and given a chance, he can be a middle order batsman.

Look agrees about Yasir poor performance in Australia but shadab, but he is not good enough to be playing test cricket in Australia as leading spinner
