[PICTURES] Rumman Raees ruled out of remaining PSL 2018 due to knee injury [Post #17]

That reminded me of how Simon Jones got injured, and that kinda ended his international career. Hopefully it's not as serious.

He's got away with serious injury Alhamdulillah. Strong source on twitter

Hopefully it's not as bad as it could have been.

Seen footballers tear their knee ligaments in such incidents.

From ISU management :

Rumman Raees has no ligament damage to his knee, he only suffered internal bruising. He is currently bed-ridden, but it's expected to be fit in 10-14 days.

No replacements are being looked at the moment.

They dont believe in replacements, they didn't go for replacement for Hasnain as well.

Great news.

Wish him full recovery ASAP!

The reluctance to get replacements from every franchise is a bit weird. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Losing Rumman Raees will be a big deal for Islamabad United.

Forget Islamabad, losing him would be a big blow for Pakistan. I'm glad reports are stating the injury is not serious. I would hope he misses the PSL and focuses on staying fit for Pakistan. This is a crucial 12 months in limited overs cricket, and Pakistan need to keep their core players fit, ready and playing international cricket.

There is no point of expanding the squad soo much that you have to kick him out next season

Islamabad has got a great pool of players currently. They dont need to get anyone from outside.

they have amad butt and steven fnn.

Bigger problem is Sharjah ground. I the manner in which the soil came out when Rumman's knee hit it tells me that more injuries are bound to happen there.

Rumman has been officially ruled out from the remaining PSL tournament last evening.

Errol Alcott, the Islamabad United physio has been in discussion with the knee specialist who has reviewed Rumman here at Saudi German Hospital, and they've concluded that while he has improved a lot, his knee is not holding upto the heavy load on landing impact on the knee whilst bowling and that he should take a rest to recover completely.

It is important to ISLU that the general well being of its players and their future success in their cricket endeavours is maintained , so while we are disappointed for Rumman in not being with us for the remainder of the PSL 3 tournament , we know getting him to rest is the right thing to do. We wish him the best of luck for the rest of 2018.

Too injury prone, this guy.

Important T20 player for both IU and Pakistan. This probably means he's out of the WI series too.

Chance for Shinwari I guess.

He's still injured it seems, no place for him against Zimbabwe.

It was reported that the injury wasn't serious, I wonder what the hold up could. Maybe its worse that what was expected.

Was a horrific fall - thanks to substandard outfield in Sharjah

He's not played for 8 months - I'm hearing that the cowboys known as doctors are messing things up for yet another Pakistani cricketer.

Better send him to the UK, just like other players had to do when all was lost.

That's cause there's no concept of sports medicine in Pakistan. Heck, the "doctor" aren't even doctors. It's mostly physiotherapists trying to do doctor's job.

Sports medicine is a well developed field in USA and UK, sadly there's not even a single accredited training program for sports medicine in Pakistan. It's not even recognized as a speciality.

We need this guy back and fully fit in the limited overs side. He bowls well with the new ball and old ball. Yorkers, slower ones, cutters, he has a lot in his armoury.

Rumman Raees' first game in 8 months.

After suffering an injury during PSL 3, Rumman had been out of action for 7-8 months, he played his first game today. Interestingly, he apparently played as a specialist batter and score his maiden LA half century, yet did not bowl a single over. Anyone has any updates on why he didn't bowl today?
Mods kindly move it to the relevant thread.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that wasn't Rumman Raees...

I would not trust CI scorecards for Pakistan domestic cricket.

You're better off checking PCB. http://www.pcb.com.pk/quaideazam-cup-one-day-201819/match/31957.html
