Seen during the 2nd T20I - Sarfaraz Ahmed's yawns are now gaining legendary status!

But jokes aside, for an international sportsman to be showing such sort of disinterest - during an international game is very odd and bordering on the unprofessional.

I know it sounds harsh and depends on person to person but looks very odd and is not becoming of a sportsman playing at this level.

HAHAHAHA he has a knack for yawning at the worst time.

Actually in psychology yawning is not only associated with the lack of sleep. It is also associated with lack of interest in a situation. For example if a friend starts discussing something long with you in which you have no interest you have chances to yawn to show your disinterest. Yawning is a natural phenomenon and it is quite an interesting topic to research.
In the current test and T20 series, I think he yawned due to lack of interest. However, I feel he genuinely yawned due to lack of sleep in the World Cup game against India. It is quite normal to have a sleepless night before a crucial match.

I don't know what the issue is? Is he out on the field playing?

Who says Sarfaraz isn't consistent - 1 picture in Tests, 1 in ODIs and 1 in a T20I :P

Yawning is a reflex. Mute point

Atleast cover your mouth if you are about to yawn...

Generally a yawn seems to show disinterest in anything.

For a Pakistan player to be disinterested in how his team is playing is a little off-putting. Maybe he's been there and seen it all - no idea why he is so bored.

I dont think Sarfarz yawning is more down to lack of sleep rather than lack of interest. He needs help if I am being totally honest.

Picture 2 and 3 are no big issues because he isn't playing those games was benched so it's not an issue

However picture 1 is were the issue is at

World Cup match your the captain and your playing India and you yawn like that so everyone can see that's not good if he had to yawn should have just used the wicket keeper gloves to cover his face

After looking at the pictures in OP.

Yawned in an ODI World Cup match - Tick
Yawned in a Test Match - Tick
Yawned in a T20 Match - Tick

At least Sarfaraz Ahmed can now say that he yawned in all three formats of the game. :inti

Unprofessional lazy behavior.

Thank god he does such acts now sitting as a waterboy, if he was doing this as wicket keeper behind the stumps would had been insulting just like last time.

Itni to tameez honi chaiye kay moun par hath hi rakhlein.

I think it is just thta. Sarfraz is a very unpolished individual who even after a long run as captain, wasn't really able to groom himself.

This is an issue with most of our new players but due to the lack of cricket at the school/college/university level, it is to be expected.

PCB needs to spend time and effort to develop some personal grooming courses that should help these guys develop a nice personality and present themselves impressively to the world.

To be honest, I havent stopped yawning after seeing Saj tweet.

Joking aside, just the sight of any professional yawning during any professional activity is a no go for me.

In a radius of few metres, Yawning is contagious.

Ridiculous criticism. So what he yawned. Everybody yawns and unfortunately the camera picked it up and all these fans and haters jumped on him. I’m no fan of sarfraz but come on now - Let’s keep the criticism to what matters and that’s batting, wicket keeping and captaining.

He’s on the bench...

I think the yawning maybe a nervous reaction sometimes, but Sarfraz looked like a lack of sleep for whatever reason.

More important Safraz was getting very unfit, looks like he is leaner now but Rizwan is better keeper.
Currently Sarfraz maybe can play as batsman as others don't seem to make big runs. Aside from Babar, Rizwan and Shadab who all seem to contribute.

Lol
Some international cricketers were known to take a nap during the game...literally whilst waiting to bat...
This is cricket after all

I guess this is only getting attention because he was yawning in not even in the middle of a India Pakistan World Cup encounter :))

I mean I can’t think of more unimaginable times when someone can yawn.

Someone yawning sitting idle in the dressing room is no biggie but I guess that incident has kind of made him the captain of Yawns Lol.
Poor guy. Can’t even do the most basic human reflex now without the fear of being ridiculed.

I guess Maxwell and Smith are also lazy because they yawned lol. It’s almost like yawning is natural and doesn’t make someone a bad athlete.

It is cricket at the end of the day and not football or basketball. It does not require constant intensity from the players.

he was captaining against arch rivals. You can't compare with someone sitting in dressing room waiting for his turn. He'll of a difference.

Conjecture: Could be a medical condition with Sarfaraz - you don't start yawning while running around for no reason.

Things like sleep Apnea can make people sleep during crucial meetings.
