[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Expectations from Maryam Nawaz as Punjab CM

@emranabbas it's a matter of national interest and even PTI who has suffered so much from the hands of Generals has raised their voice and support for country , so why not NS and MS who are part of the nexus should come up front and give their opinion
They didn't what your going to do about? Tell me

What's your issue? If they spoke or not

Who are you? Nobody cares what you think
They lead a party with at least 17 seats. Thev in govt( whoever they got there) they should put PK before their friendship. Do you not think that is the least those guys that voted for them should expect.

What just a basic statement will do what.
Resolution and a statement are two different things. I understand you follow PTI so you think twitter posts as something of a communication.

A resolution is passed by every single member of the national assembly, meaning that every person of the govt, be it opposition or in power backs that statement. That statement needs to be proper made so that nothing of a false pretence is derived.

When your country is in the state of national security, you dont go around making dumb tweet like Imran used to do.

Does not matter who I have affiliation with what's it go to do with you

Atleast I don't take my mum and sisters to pti jalsas to do a special dance item for murshad imran khan like you

WoW. Got to hand it to you. Your die hard stance for the Poodles is no joke.

You are stooping to all levels, which is on show.

I don't care if I get banned you lot got me involved in this hun apni maa chudwa

So what if NS and Maryam nawaz didn't put out a tweet why are your mum and sisters getting a tingle?

Tell Papa and Fake Nani to show Bravado. The Nation is waiting

The World Leaders communicate to the public through twitter. Just a plain fact. It's not our fault that you guys are functionally illiterate and can't even get basic messaging across.
Twitter is where narratives are shaped and public perception can made or changed. Off course diplomacy is done through unofficial and official channels but when you have an ex PM not condemning an enemy, why should other govts do so.

Lol twitter is not an official communication channel for govt genius.

Its for communicating to the masses thats all and is managed by a marketing agency.

This is a national security concern. You dont sit on twitter for this.

And u jahil, imrans twitter acc was not being used by him personally. He had hired a team for it like most politicians do.

You have to be very naive and a trump/ik supporter who thinks statement on nationality security should be made on twitter.... lolll

Or we can talk about the bhen that you like, the one that tells she has porn videos of everyone. Are you happy that she has the porn videos and watches them. Not my words, her words
Let's not forget the shortage of condemn in the areas where pti jalsas take place you happy with your mother and sisters going to such jalsas?

Is this a national security issue? It seems like you still dont understand the point
So he broke PK law for what reason? And I didn't ask to put national security on twitter. You can find words that aren't going to create more heat. That's the problem you guys are functionally illiterate and don't understand that there is a level you can use to send messages without adding heat.

But back to this
Why has SS broken PK law to tweet? What's so important here? Could he not also just write letter?

Your claiming its not important and then I show you it's very important. To illustrate my point i showed the PK PM breaking his own law to tweet Trump. Why would he do that if it isn't important. Any ideas.

CM Maryam gives nod to Air Punjab, set to launch in ‘a year’: Azma Bokhari

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari on Saturday said the provincial government had approved the launch of its own airline named Air Punjab and that it would begin its operations within a year.

The Punjab government had floated the idea of Air Punjab in November 2024 after the federal government’s failed attempt to sell the national carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Bokhari said: “Pakistan is ready to operate its first provincial airline, Air Punjab.

“The approval for it was given by [Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz] sahiba in a meeting a few days ago,” she added.

“This service would begin in a minimum of eight months and at the most, a year.”

Sharing further details, the information minister said four aircraft will be acquired on lease immediately for Air Punjab.

Noting that airlines in Pakistan were required to operate domestically for a year before initiating international routes, Bokhari said Air Punjab would be “ready to provide its services in a few months”.

The Punjab chief minister has ordered the completion of the formalities of licensing and leasing, according to Bokhari.

“No one had even thought of launching their own provincial airline,” she added.

Bokhari noted she wanted to share two “major good” developments about Punjab with the public for many days but the recent situation in the wake of the Pahalgam attack had delayed it.

Announcing the second plan, she said, “Pakistan’s first bullet train, which will operate from Lahore to Rawalpindi, will take the [travellers there] in two hours and 20 minutes.”

The minister added that CM Maryam had accorded approval for the bullet train as well.

The Punjab government would collaborate with the Pakistan Railways for the bullet train, Bokhari elaborated.

“Chief minister sahiba has also sought a plan for a high-speed train for six other routes in Punjab, including Lahore to Shahdara and Narowal; Lahore to Raiwind and Kasur; Pakpattan to Lodhran; Sheikhupura to Shorkot; Shorkot to Sargodha via Jhang; and Lala Musa to Sargodha via Malakwal,” she explained.

“The Railway department would be completely revamped in Punjab.”

Pakistan had been looking to offload a 51-100 per cent stake in debt-ridden PIA to raise funds and reform state-owned enterprises but a sole bid of Rs10 billion for a 60pc stake — much below the government-set minimum price of Rs85bn — stalled the privatisation process.

Subsequently, on Nov 1, 2024, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government ruled by the opposition PTI said it was ready to purchase the loss-making national flag carrier.

A day later, former prime minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif stated his daughter, CM Maryam, had sought his counsel on whether the Punjab government should acquire the PIA or establish a new airline.

Nawaz had suggested the airline could also be purchased and rebranded by the provincial government as Air Punjab.

However, the Punjab government had immediately clarified that it had “no intentions” of being party to the highly publicised bidding process to acquire the PIA.

The job of the CM of Province is to make sure it deals with issues of its residents. Punjab is deeply agrarian society and all the resources should be used to develop and improve productivity. Instead we get this unelected woman looking to fool people with gimmicks.

Punjab CM Maryam assails PTI for polluting ‘brains of youth’

At a time when the nation needs unity among its ranks in the face of Indian aggression, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz does not seem to be willing to spare the PTI and continued bashing the party, though indirectly, for “polluting the brains of the youth”.

Addressing a laptop distribution ceremony here on Wednesday, the Punjab CM reminded the youth of the fate of those responsible for May 9 rioting.

Indirectly referring to Mr Khan, the CM said: “If someone asks you to open fire on the men in uniform...make petrol bombs and set the public property on fire, don’t listen to them. Those who did it (May 9) are in jail and their future is dark. Even the terrorists who are residing outside the country with their children, want to sabotage Pakistan. You don’t have to become their tools.”

In an indirect reference to Imran’s nephew Hassaan Niazi, she said the youth should not support those who hooked the army uniform to a stick and waved it, giving a wrong message.

Distributes laptops among students, launches 2nd phase of Honhaar scholarships

She asked the youth not to be afraid of what is happening on the borders. “There is tension on the border, but you don’t have to be afraid. The youth should give message to the army that they are standing by them,” she added.

She urged the youth to work for the country’s welfare beyond their political association and added the 65 per cent of the country’s population comprises the youth which has the country’s future in their hands.

On the laptop scheme, she said it had been relaunched in Punjab after eight years.

“The students will be given 13th generation Core i7 laptops for the first time,” the CM announced.

She also launched Honhaar Scholarship Phase-II Programme. A laptop scheme has also been launched by the Punjab government for 5,000 students from other provinces. The e-portal of the laptop scheme has been opened for the students from Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

After the students from Punjab, 3,136 students from KP will also get laptops, besides 938 students from Balochistan, 517 from AJK and 410 from GB.

Under Honhaar Scholarship Phase-II, 20,000 scholarships will be given to the students from two to five years and from 3rd to 8th semester.

Scholarships worth more than Rs120 million will be given to 3,121 students of 27 government colleges, six medical colleges and universities of Lahore division.

Under the laptop scheme, laptops were distributed among 14,000 students of Lahore division.

Laptops were given to the first and second semester students of 13 government universities, six medical colleges and 27 higher educational institutions.

It's very unfortunate many PTI supporters appear to be either anti-Pakistan, pro-India, or neutral in the current conflict. It's also evident that Imran Khan has deeply influenced the youth, to the point where their loyalty to him seems stronger than their loyalty to the country.

But can you blame them when the establishment which includes the military and the incumbent government that is controlled by crooks have raped the country?

I completely understand but establishments will change over time, but Pakistan will always remain. We can’t betray our country just because of internal issues. Right now, Pakistan must be our top priority everything else can be addressed later.

Establishments haven't changed in over 70years, since the creation of Pakistan and so there comes a time, especially with the new generation having access to information and being connected to everyone, when people say enough is enough...
You have to ask yourself, who has done more damage to the poor people of Pakistan, India or its very own establishment?

Well, that’s entirely your choice if you choose to be pro-India and anti-Pakistan, then honestly, Maryam isn’t wrong when she says Imran Khan has influenced the youth to turn against their own country. You shouldn’t feel offended by it in fact, you should own it and be proud of being pro-India and even seek for options to migrate to India.

Its not about being pro india..
Surely you have the capacity to understand what I'm trying to say here?
Nationalism, true nationalism, is about protecting and growing your own country and protecting its people, so ask yourself how Nationalistic are the establishment and its criminal stooges such as Maryam Nawaz?

@cricketfan24
If the terrorist attack was done by the establishment, and I hope it wasn't, then your point of view sort of makes sense now.
i.e. it falls in to that narrative where some people saying it was done to unite the country behind its army and government.
If this is the case, then it makes even little sense why people should get behind rulers that are unpatriotic and so far removed from being nationalists...

Hating Pakistan just because the establishment is corrupt makes you no different from them. Your argument falls apart there. Supporting India and turning against your own country because of internal issues doesn’t make you a reformer it makes you a traitor.

I'm guessing you're a PTI supporter, and honestly, your whole narrative seems pretty biased. It also sounds like you closely follow and echo voices like Imran Riaz Khan, Shahbaz Gill, PT1Only and others. Maybe if you look at it as a neutral it will make more sense to you.

Who is hating Pakistan?
It's the complete opposite.

Surely you can see that?

I'm supporting whoever breaks the establishment hold over the country and brings justice to the people of Pakistan...

These views were the same prior to the formation of PTI and will also hold true after the complete destruction of the PTI..

Do I care about India as a country: NO
Do I want India to go to war with Pakistan: NO
If there was a war who would I support: Pakistan

But this doesn't mean that the establishment and cabal of crooks running the country have done far more damage to its people then any foreign entity

That’s your personal view, but many PTI supporters don’t share the same mindset. That’s exactly where this conversation began you were defending that stance by putting all the blame on the establishment, which came across as if being pro-India is somehow justified, even to the extent of supporting India if a war breaks out.

Which PTI supporters do you know. The PTI supporters i know hate the Generals and that will not change. We support PK as we have an honest leader that is patriotic.
As far as I can tell this whole thing is drama to get popularity for criminals that run PK. No country that is close to war would ever put Atta Tatta as its spokesperson or have Khwaja Asif as its defense Minister.

If there was any doubt where their loyalties lie( $$$$), the doubt has been eliminated. This is a crooked family that has money abroad and makes its decisions accordingly

CM Punjab orders free treatment of patients returning from India

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the authorities concerned to provide free treatment to the patients returning from India.

During the current tensions between India and Pakistan, the Pakistani patients were sent back from India without completion of their treatment. The CM on Monday directed the health authorities to ensure free treatment of all such patients.

“The patients returning from India will not be left alone under any circumstances,” she said and issued directions for the best treatment of those needing kidney and liver transplants or those suffering from other critical diseases in the province. These patients, who were receiving treatment in India, had to return to Pakistan after the Indian government revoked their visas.

Meanwhile, she lauded the ranking system in the Punjab Police that had led to a decrease in crime rate in Lahore and other cities.

“By introducing the ranking system in the police department, the crime rate in Lahore and other cities is on the decline. The crime graph coming down is the result of excellent policing. Lahore police operations wing’s laudable performance in the ‘crime index’ has made it a safe city as compared to London and New York. It is a great milestone for the Lahore police and the Punjab government. Lahore city has been included in the Safe City category due to adopting an excellent strategy in combating crime,” the CM said while speaking to IGP Dr Usman Anwar who briefed her on law and order situation and crime rate in the province in a meeting.

CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana, DIG Administration Imran Kishwar, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran and DIG Investigation Zeeshan Raza were also present.

Ms Nawaz underscored that protection of the life and property of every citizen was the foremost responsibility of the state. She urged the citizens to cooperate and support the police in order to maintain law and order across Punjab.

She added that despite enormous challenges with regard to maintaining law and order, achieving crime reduction targets spoke volumes of excellent teamwork.

“By introducing ‘key performance indicators (KPIs)’, the performance of the police and administration had significantly improved. Policing has been improved by adopting modern technology, taking immediate feedback and carrying out effective monitoring. The process of accountability has also been ensured in the police,” the CM said.

CM Maryam Nawaz pays tribute to mothers of martyrs on mother’s day

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, has expressed her sincere appreciation to the mothers of Pakistan’s martyrs, recognising their unmatched bravery and sacrifice on May 11, 2025.

According to Pakistan’s state-run news agency, the APP, CM Maryam Nawaz expressed her admiration on the social media platform X to the mothers of brave soldiers, calling them silent warriors behind the nation’s sovereignty.

Punjab govt plans law to rein in goondas

The Punjab government has plans to enact a law to control criminal and anti-social persons commonly known as “goondas”, who make life difficult for the people, in the province.

The new law, The Punjab Control of Goondas and Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2025, will serve as a modern, effective legal tool to tackle organised and habitual crime, protect public safety, and deter anti-social behaviour. The Act, after enactment, will repeal The Punjab Control of Goondas Ordinance, 1959.

The Punjab home department has drafted the new law that provides a comprehensive legal framework for identifying, monitoring and restraining individuals commonly known as “goondas” who pose a threat to public order. The act provides the legal definition of goonda as “a person habitually involved in disorderly conduct, criminal activity, or anti-social behaviour that endangers peace or creates public nuisance”.

The district intelligence committees (DICs) have been empowered to declare an individual a ‘goonda’ based on credible reports from police officers, assistant commissioners, intelligence agencies, or written complaints. There has to be a comprehensive grounds for declaration of `goonda’ which includes involvement in drug trafficking, gambling, extortion, cyber crimes, harassment, organised criminal activity, use of forged documents, display of weapons, running brothel house, impersonation of public officials and other listed offences.

Upon declaration, the DIC may impose various restrictions on goondas including, requiring a bond for good behaviour in future, placing the individual on no-fly list, blocking of CNIC and passport, confiscation of digital devices and data, freezing of bank accounts. It also includes observing the community service orders and restriction from visiting sensitive public places.

The Act allows for technical surveillance, including digital monitoring and biometric data collection, to ensure compliance and detect further criminal conduct. The act also provides an appeal mechanism to the aggrieved individuals, who can submit representations to the divisional, provincial, and appellate committees. A dedicated Tribunal, led by a retired district and sessions judge, will hear final appeals.

The proposed Act also gives strict penalties for violating the orders of DIC. The punishment includes imprisonment from three to five years and a fine of up to Rs1.5 million. Furthermore, the repeat offenders will face harsher penalties, including up to seven years’ imprisonment and fine up to Rs2m. All offences under the new Act are declared cognisable and non-bailable, ensuring swift police action and legal proceedings. The government will designate magistrates with Section 30 powers under the Code of Criminal Procedure to try offences under this Act. The proposed Act will be presented before the provincial cabinet for approval.

CM Maryam orders depts to rein in chicken rates

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed strong displeasure over the rise in chicken prices in the province directing the relevant departments to take prompt steps to control them.

She was presiding over a meeting on the hike in the prices of chicken.

She directed the relevant departments to also closely monitor the prices of essential vegetables, including tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic, green chillies and lemons ahead of Eidul Azha.

She asserted that an increase in the prices of essential vegetables before the arrival of Eidul Azha was unacceptable. She said the rise in chicken prices despite the presence of government institutions was highly unacceptable.

The CM directed to take immediate measures to reduce the price of ‘roti’ in view of recent reduction in the flour prices.

She also sought a comprehensive plan to cut down transportation costs of vegetables and directed the agriculture department to take essential steps to grow off-season vegetables as well.
