Rizwan is proving his class for the Patriots in the CPL. A fifty in the middle order when others failed, and now 85 off 62 as an opener while the rest collapsed. Meanwhile Haris is stuck on single digits and scoring at a poor strike rate. Our openers have been hit and miss, their strike rates are on and off, and every second or third game they end up eating too many balls. Time to bring Rizwan back at the top, no more wasting time.

to find a better option , One must acknowledge that present option is garbage. You are not doing that because apparently he is our only option and we are nt even looking for other options.

If you Say he is garbage batter who does nt know how to hold a bat against quality Spinners , that would suffice. and make no Mistake batting position does nt excuse it. its way of coping that one can be wrong about a player’s ability. Let the selection process and finding better options be confined to PCB. We cant do anything about that.
 
When you look at how his team mates performed, this was a very good innings.

Oman’s spinners bowled very well. The wicket was slow and with the big boundaries, runs didn’t come easy.

He has a long way to go before he seals his place in the Pakistan team but credit where credit is due.
 
Good innings by him today and will probably be a match winning one given how bad the rest of the team were.

As I mentioned on the match thread, I knew this was a match winning knock.

Yes it’s Oman but the pitch was slow with some uneven bounce and their spinners bowled very well.

Babar and Rizwan would’ve faltered here - especially Babar given how hopeless he is against spin.
 
Good inning albeit against a inexperienced associate team, considering he was looking hopeless for long time. Let us hope this inning will give him confidence to peedorm against better teams like India.

Scratchy at the start and a bit of luck but credit where credit is due he played a good innings and capitalized on the opportunity which cannot be said of the rest of the batting. Won’t nitpick about the quality of the opposition either because at the highest level it all counts but let’s see if he can be a bit more consistent - 3 in 5 would be good enough considering the risks he takes. I would still bet against him as I doubt he can control his impulsive nature and wait for his opportunities when up against quality bowling but would be happy to be proven wrong.

This is why I started this 8 vs 1 routine. I knew agha would play haris at no 3 after that quote.

And I knew Haris would prove people wrong. He's literally our best player at no 3 in years? Only an idiot would advocate for Rizwan over Haris at the top order.

Everyone knows Rizzu would be a clown at no 7.

Yes he has proved me wrong with a masterful knock against a world class attack.

He also proved himself to be the best #3 in Pakistan in years based on two knocks.

I am sorry for doubting him.

Very scratchy innings at the start. He no clue about the bowling. At one point he was 15 off 16 balls. There is no way he’s going to succeed at this level for long. Good teams won’t allow him to play whack everything on the leg side.

Replace We with I as it is only your opinion.

I know people who have lost interest and are not following the Asia Cup because Rizwan is not playing. It's not easy for me either if I'm being honest

He averages 47 in T20 and 40 in Test. He has been booted out of T20s and nobody in the world cares!

It’s a good contribution by Babar and Rizwan. But yes, Harris’s knock against SA in the situation Pakistan were in is far bigger towards Pakistan’s cause.

The 152-0 is considered as one of Pakistan’s greatest mistakes because it stopped Pakistan cricket from growing as a batting unit for the next 4 years.

Yes, and we are witnessing how the batting unit is “growing” after Babar and Rizwan were dropped. The gigantic total of 160 vs Oman proves it, led by Babar’s replacement Sahibzada playing a monstrous innings of 29 in 29 balls.

Beautiful growth.
