[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Ihsanullah - Another promising pacer from KPK

Naseem Shah successfully underwent surgery on his injured shoulder in London while Ihsanullah underwent surgery on his right elbow recently in Lahore. Ihsanullah is likely to return to cricket in December. Is it fair that one player gets treatment in Pakistan and one abroad?

Wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully he will come back even better and quicker IA.

Based on Pakistan's past experience with handling injuries, it's probably another career ruined.

Would hope its not the case but there is zero faith in PCB and its medical staff.

Who’s forcing Ihsanullah to get operated in Pakistan? He’s got enough money to go to London for his treatment. Naseem Shah must’ve went private too.

Looked like a good bowler. Hope he recovers soon. I want to watch him bowl on English or Australian pitches.

it was discussed on a sports that his injury was mis diagnosed.. he was having to do strength training when he had a fracture which is why he has not recovered yet.. another failure from pcb

His injury was discussed on A sports. Initially, they were going to send him to Qatar, but his visa for Qatar was rejected (this is very odd). And he didnt have a UK visa aswell. PCB than bought the doctor from UK who treated Ihsan in Pakistan.

What about the guy with the big nose? What happened to him?

Ihsanullah had to undergo surgery in a private hospital in Lahore. A doctor was flown in from England to operate Ihsanullah in the first week of September. After the operation, the fast bowler was placed in an elbow brace for four weeks, with a doctor and physio attending him on a daily basis. His condition is satisfactory and the brace will be removed at the end of fifth week. Afterwards, he will proceed with rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Happy Birthday to the uprising young pace sensation Ihsanullah.

Sometimes important posts like this simply get ignored by posters keen to get a few words out. If this is true it’s very good of pcb to try to get him fixed and back in the groove. It may take years. I’m so tired of hearing from former players that Wasim and waqar were thrown into the deep end without much playing experience. What they don’t mention that in the 80’s very little cricket was played and players recovered well in the breaks. Waqar and Wasim had a load of injuries despite this.

On the other hand we need to follow examples of pat cummins and jimmy anderson. Although they made starts in international cricket they were brought back to help their development and not rushed out in bid to win short term matches. Their strength is their gradual physical development and skills set. Takes years. Fans need to be patient

This guy seems to be a suspicious character. He could not get visa for australia, england or even qatar.

I wonder if he has family members involved in terrorism, because getting rejected visa like this makes no sense. Like even Qatar is rejecting him aswell.

I wonder with such visas issues with this guy, would it be a good idea to continue with him?

Sad story, partly also the fault of the players. They debut for Pak, get noticed and start running all over the world to play T20 leauges. Their body cant handle all that and as a result they get injured. Also shame on PCB.

he would've been ideal for team like Afghanistan, netherland ,bd and sl due to his extreme pace .unlucky to miss out on worldcup

Yeah, he seems to be very suspicious character. Pak has enough pace bowlers. Not sure why they want to invest in him when he will not get an opportunity to play in any big tournaments in Australia, England and possibly even India. I don't think they need him to do well in Pak.

Ihsanullah speaking to a TV channel talked about his rehabilitation post surgery:

"The rehabilitation after the elbow surgery went great, I have been bowling for the past 15 days,”

“I’m feeling way better than before, I tried to swing the ball with full pace during the practice sessions, and I was able to do it accurately.

“Missing the World Cup due to surgery was painful, I was disturbed but I told myself that injuries are part of the game.

“I am trying my best to get rid of the fear and start bowling with the pace. I will try to pick up from where I left off.”

Recent video of Ihsanullah, says he is getting back in his rhythm and is focusing on this years t20 WC. And says he is focusing on bowling 160kph. Hope he doesn’t get injured again

People need to read Ali Khan Tareens tweet. The PCB medical panel misdiagnosed Ehsanullah elbow injury and made him go through an incorrect elbow surgery.

Ehsanullah was left too his own devices. Multan Sultans and Ali Khan Tareen are now taking charge and responsibility for Ehsanullahs rehab and are sending him to the UK for a visit to a specialist elbow doctor.

Ehsanullah has now lost a year and potentially more playing time and the question is will he return back to be the same bowler?

Will the PCB medical panel and Dr Sohail Saleem be held responsible for this? How many players like Ehsanullah whose careers have been screwed due to PCB neglect and mis management?

He is not part of the squad that is training with the army, right? So I'd guess he may not be part of the squad that is considered for upcoming matches. Meaning he can't prove he's fit.

As I said in the other thread, the abundance of fast bowling options for Pakistan is crazy. Even with that, we just don't seem to get the right mix of pace. If you've got SSA, Naseem, Rauf, Amir, Mo Ali, Mo Wasim Jr. and Ihsanullah. You've got to at least get 4 man pace combo that is feared by opposing teams. There's enough talent there to really do damage with aggressive captaincy and field placements.

Wow so horrible to read.

I had really high hopes for this kid. He had pace and aggression. I hope the wrongful surgery before did not cause damage and Ihsanullah can go through a proper rehab and return as good as he was.

Most of the pacers are journeymen just going through the motions barely touching 140k.

Ihsanullah is the real deal, has pace and aggression. I can't believe they handled him this badly. Why are they not holding the medical team accountable?

It seems like Ihsanullah spends more time in a rehab center than on the field playing.

I doubt this Dr. Sohail is properly trained to be the main doctor of an international team . He got some sort of certificates which can be achieved after attending short courses which makes you good enough for some sort of an associate doctor of a school team . I have been in the medical board of a professional team here in USA as a subspecialist and had a minor role but I knew all the board members. The head of the team was always an orthopedic surgeon with extra training in sports medicine and players were referred to special orthopedic surgeons, when needed, according to their specialty . There were different orthopedic surgeons for shoulder, knee, elbow , ankle or any other injuries. I doubt Dr Sohail's qualification , no wonder he is messing up players career.

Is this guy still alive? Where the heck is he? Is he made of chinese plastic or something…

Everyone is a doctor in Pakistan but they can't hire 1 competent doctor for their cricket team.

Out of all the bowlers I like Ihsanullah the most. He was aggressive against the Afghans and bust open the face of one of their batters. No passive blank stares and going through the motions trundling like Shaheen or Wasim Jnr.

Why does the PCB even need a medical panel? Why can't they sign an MOU with the top hospitals in the country and send the players to these hospitals for a proper independent assessment?

Due to these injuries, he can't play for a longer period. Age fudging is also a factor. He is not in it for the long run anymore, unlike Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

And this is why not a single player should be blamed if opt to not "serve" Pakistan and opt for leagues instead. No board has gone out of their way to destroy these players careers & earnings like PCB has.

PCB and mismanagement of players is a love affair that has been the topic of discussion for a long time now. Mess everywhere.

This guy should have been fit by now but look what happened. He had to go through the wrong treatment and is still nowhere near to recover anytime soon. Maybe 4-6 months more before we can see him back in action.

This is the case every where. Atleast in India it is.

What's the qualification of Dr Sohail?

Speaking to the Local Media in Lahore, Ihsanullah's father asked PCB to move his son to the rehabilitation at NCA in Lahore:

"Ihsanullah's care is not properly managed in Swat as it lacks necessary facilities and experienced doctors."

"I request the PCB to call my son to the NCA in Lahore and keep him there until his treatment is completed so that his career is not compromised."

The PCBs main asset is it's players and the clowns have no clue to develop and look after them. His lack of treatment is criminal but did we expect anything different?

He is still healing and in the areas he lives in, it is going to take more time to get fit. He should be called to NCA as his father demanded for better care so he can get fit in less time.

Disgraceful, but what else can anyone expect from this utterly unprofessional and unethical board.

Another promising youngster’s career needlessly ruined.

In a recent statement, Ihsanullah rejected these concerns, reassuring his fans and the cricketing community that his recovery in Swat is on the right track., he said:

"My rehab in Swat is going well, and I am confident of making a comeback soon. The bend in my elbow and the angle of my straight arm are improving significantly. However, a report surfaced in the media claiming that my rehab isn't going well. I urge the PCB to allow me to continue my rehab in Swat, as the recovery here is on the right track,"

Do you agree with him??? I don't

Ihsanullah speaking during a Podcast:

"If I compare Jasprit Bumrah, then Naseem Shah is a better bowler than him (Jasprit Bumrah)."

"Naseem Shah was also performing like him in the 2022 World Cup. It doesn't matter if someone doesn't perform too well in a year. Still, Naseem Shah is better than him."

Nobody agrees. It just saws the lack of brains our people have

People can back their own because of loyalty. Naseem is overweight and unfit ATM but should, with some work get his weight down in a couple of months. He then needs to play FC and get match fitness. For me he is becoming Yasir Arafat and that isn't a good road to go down.

But as per reports.. all three Naseem Shaheen and Babar will be back in Australia series… which shouldnt be the case.. As you said, Naseem is also unfit and he should also take atleast a couple of months break to regain fitness, but as per reports..Aqib has lowered fitness standards’ requirements..…and as of now Aqib is all and all, and whatever he will say…will happen..

Too early. Let the team play in Australia without any of them. It will force these guts to look at their own weaknesses and work on them. It will also show bench strength

Yes… all these guys should take atleast a couple of months off…otherwise, what use will be..only a 2 test match break be? all 3 must earn their comeback…but doesnt seem to be the case, unfortunately.. Naseem, out of all three, is most likely to make a strong comeback..if he works hard and regains his optimum fitness…. shaheen seems to be done and dusted , for good…Babar also must work really hard mentally and physically to get back to his best…I am most hopeful for Naseem, if he can work hard, but for that, he must take a break of atleast couple of months…if he comes back again, half fit..he will deteriorate rapidly and steadily, as he has already been declining, since his return from injury…

Is this Naseem, I like to see the fear in batsmen's eyes, shah that he's taking about?

Say no more

Ihsanullah has revealed that the doctors have prohibited him for playing red-ball cricket for 3 years!

Will be interesting to see if he can hit 150ks , most of our bowlers after initial burst gets exposed

Seems like another Mohammad Zahid. Really hope even after this serious injury he can bowl 140+ kph. Pakistan need him.

In his first game post-injury, Ihsanullah was far from his best.

He went wicket less in his 2 overs and conceded 19 runs against Stallions in PCB Champions T20 Cup 2024

I went to youtube to see how he did & he looked like someone who hasn't fully gotten over the injury yet. The elbow was heavily strapped, & his pace was down but at least the runup looked decent.

He is my favorite bowler in the country & really want him to get a decent career but I don't see that happening if his injury doesn't fully heal or isn't diagnosed properly. I think we will see him in PSL because the team that he is playing has Engro strapped to the name & his socials are full of Multan sultan content but let's see how that goes.

Wishing him all the best.

He said it will take him a year or two to recover. Docs said to him to not play ODIs until after a year. He is playing T20s now though

Such damn shame. He bust open the face of the Afghan batter and stared through his soul. He would have been brutal on fast bouncy pitches.

His socials often have videos of him when his pace is recorded by handheld speed measuring devices and he's not there in terms of pace yet. High 120s and low 130s is where he's at for the moment, hopefully he's healing & not just playing with the injury.

His elbow has hyperextension & this may result in constant pain so it's hard to identify the difference between that pain or any serious injury. Shaheen & Ali Raza also have similar elbow flex & condition so they must also be careful.

Wasn't a special ball. Just wrongly judged and timed by the batsman. A good puller would have dispatched that. But he should keep at it and work to find rhythm. Looking forward to seeing him again in the next PSL

Batting techniques in domestic cricket are absolutely disgusting.

Stallions' Yasir Khan smashes Dolphins' Ihsanullah for four back-to-back fours in his very first over during the PCB Champions T20 Cup 2024. Ihsanullah has lost his mojo.

Do you think he can play red ball after that injury?

There's no way he's able to play any real cricket at the moment or anytime soon. He requires rest, rehabilitation, & proper medical monitoring for at least the next three months or so but he's being hurried back because we have a PSL & everyone wants to have a PSL contract.

It's a blessing in disguise that PSL is in May this year otherwise he would have ruined his future career by taking this risk. This is why PCB will never be a good board, instead of getting him best experts & investing on him, they are leaving him alone to make all the tough choices.

Dint know about the injury. I saw some clips of him ages back. He bowled at good pace. Generated good bounce at 140 clicks.
Yes it was a pretty bad one. Even his back in T20s is surprising

It's a shame that Ihsanullah has been destroyed by the so called Pakistan Circus Board.

Seeing him bowling with his right shoulder looking like that is an awful sight.

Had he been given proper medical care and support things could've been way different.

Personally feel he shouldn't have been playing yet until he's fully recovered but tbh, doubt he'll be playing anything more than T20s anytime soon.
