[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Is Hardik Pandya, the Mr. Special in team India?

Hanuma Vihari stated in an interview with local media:

“Hardik, I don't know, whether he is really keen to come back to the Test format. But, if he wants, I think it's good news for Indian cricket because an all-rounder like him can really be a boost to the Indian side, especially when we are playing in Perth or the pink-ball Test. You need that extra fast-bowling option, where you can take that advantage.”

"I think Hardik Pandya, it totally depends on him, if he wants to make a Test comeback or not. If he wants to do that, he has to play a couple of Ranji Trophy games to get that bowling load back. Because, playing Test cricket compared to ODIs or T20Is, the bowling load and endurance that you need for Test match game is completely different from the other two formats.”

Hardik Pandya will massively under achieve at the end of his career but still what a gun white ball cricketer. One of the archetype modern day cricketers.

While speaking to a local media, Former India cricketer Parthiv Patel has dismissed the rumors of Hardik's Test return:

"I'm not looking at Hardik Pandya (in Tests). He was practising with the red ball only because the white ball wasn't available. I don't think his body allows four-day and five-day matches."

"He has to play at least one first-class game (before being considered for selection in Tests), which is very unlikely."

Harbhajan Singh, speaking on a local channel program, reacted to Hardik Pandya being snubbed for T20I captaincy:

"I was (surprised). Upto some extent, i was (disappointed). He was your vice-captain...when Rohit Sharma is not that captain, your vice-captain becomes the captain."

"But if you tell him on fitness ground that you will not be the captain - there's no T20I cricket round the year."

Hardik Pandya, who has 86 wickets to his name in 102 matches played so far, will have a chance to create multiple bowling records. If the 30-year-old cricketer manages to dismiss at least five batters in the series, then he will break Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s record of 90 wickets and become India’s most successful pacer in T20Is.

Morne Morkel, Unhappy With Hardik Pandya's Bowling, Has Intense Chat In Nets: Report

During the nets session in Gwalior, Morkel was working on Pandya's run-up, especially when the India all-rounder was shadow-practicing his bowling action, as per a report in the Indian Express.

The report claimed that Morkel seemed unhappy with Pandya bowling too close to the stumps and explained the same to him. Morkel, who isn't the most talkative of persons, was constantly in Hardik's ear every time he went back to his bowling mark. Morkel also reportedly worked on Hardik's release point.

After concluding his work with Hardik, Morkel shifted his focus to left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh and rookies Harshit Rana and Mayank Yadav, who received their maiden India call-up for the T20I series.

Former India seamer RP Singh said that Hardik’s performance cannot be used to judge his ability as Bangladesh are not a strong rival team:

“You can’t judge a player’s form on the basis of his performance against Bangladesh. They are not playing good cricket at the moment,”

“Hardik looked good and is capable of producing such all-round performances but I don’t think we can take this performance into account while judging him. He needs to perform in the same fashion against a better team or in a better competition,”

If he is fit he is okay as a 5th bowler. His main issue is always fitness. He goes missing at the worst possible time always.

RP Singh is right. Pandya is pretty good against such a team but the real judgment will come against Australia or South Africa.

He is having a good time atm as an all-rounder but he needs to stay fit for a longer period of time. Cannot just go missing.

In fairness, Pandya has a stellar record against AUS in white ball and it's not a small sample size either. So no, Pandya is not due a test against AUS. But staying injury free is certainly a challenge for him.

I've always liked Pandya as player since 2017.

But he is a horrible runner between the wickets. There's was no sort of urgency. He was avoiding doubles as if Riyan Parag on the other end was tailender while Riyan was striking at 250+.

1st T20I- 39*(16).
2nd T20I- 32(19).
3rd T20I- 47(18).
Former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra said on his You tube Channel:

"Hardik Pandya was the Player of the Series. He has seen the lows of lows in his personal and professional life, getting booed - everything has happened. His batting in all three matches, he has played few balls but always with a strike rate above 200. I thought he was absolutely sensational.”

“His swag is different. It was like hooliganism. He hit a six over cover and a no-look one-handed six on the leg side... He is batting differently. It was almost like insulting the bowlers, as though they don’t have any status at all.”

24 dot balls

Dinesh Karthik has expressed his surprise over the BCCI's decision to strip Hardik Pandya of the vice-captaincy of the T20I team while speaking on a sports media outlet:

"I really don't know. I don't know why he (Hardik) was stripped of his vice-captaincy. I don't see any reason to (strip Pandya of the vice-captaincy). (India) have done well. They have won in the bilaterals that he was the vice-captain. Not a clue,"

VC generallly is the next in line to be the captain. Pandya was the senior who was made to make way for Sky. Now if he’s not in the captaincy contention and they want to groom someone for leadership position it’s understandable.

My problem is when you make someone a VC for a long time and then when the time comes to hand over the reigns they bypass the VC and give it to someone else. That’s something i am not a fan of. VC should always be next in line.

Where are those people that used to hype this Mr Bean up as the second coming of Imran Khan?

The poor lad's shocking fitness levels are on full display today. He has not scored even 2000 runs in any format and will never play test cricket again in his life.

The less said about his 125kph dibbly dobblers the better.

He is one of those "Indian superstars" @Mamoon refers to, when he means average Indian cricketers who are hyped to the moon by Indian fans as ATG's.

The problem is not that he isn't good, nor that he didn't win the match yesterday.
The problem isn't even that he let te match shift away towards England.

The problem is how he reacted to his dismissal. He actually tought that he could win the match. He think si highly of himself.

A nothing batter or bowler in any format.

Hardik Pandya reminisced about his match-winning spell against South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final in a video released by the ICC:

"There was not much spoken. Ro (Rohit Sharma) and I have played for so many years. He knows what character I am, what personality I am and how much I value cricket awareness. So, just before the ball, I just told him that I was going to go wide to Klaasen. I just knew he was going to expect a ball which is on the stumps."

"His [Heinrich Klaasen] leg was a little leg side, so I knew he was going to try to hit me there, and that's when just before my run-up, I just looked at him and said I am going to go slow because I didn't set a field for the slower ball. I had to outfox him, I had to be a little one up in the game that at least he was not aware of what the ball was coming because the way he was hitting it was tremendous, so that happened, and I think that just opened the door for us."

"In Barbados, there was a very hard breeze going around to the dressing room side. So if he wants to drag me, he'll have to drag me or hit me against the wind. There are more chances of him missing it than that. My strength would be a stump Yorker. But we went outside off stump for a specific reason if you want to hit us, hit against the odds. Not where you're more favourable. And I think that is more situational awareness and more knowing your strength. And I think that was the reason we were calm and composed with our plans."

"Ro and I spoke after the game as well. When the ball went in the air, it looked like it would be just landing at 30 yards or a fielder would have to come inside and all. But I think the wind actually took it. It was not that much steady. It actually came inside this thing. So it carried forward. Obviously, that's when the emotions were quite up and down because first, it felt like, oh, it's just up. But then we see that the ball is going, going. It's not stopping. Obviously, then what Surya did at that point of time with that much presence of mind, calmness, you know, it was just sheer, sheer brilliance."

"It was a dream which actually came true. You know, from my shoulder, a big weight was kind of off. I think it was just a relief of six, seven, eight months, which I had prior to that. I was really proud. The way I was able to stand, you know, and maybe not show a lot of emotions or how I have been going through. It just came off, the pressure of shoulder carrying such weights just came off, and I was like, yeah, finally I did it for the country."

He is a special player, the man with the golden arm.
He adds more balance to our team. Clutch player, Pandya. :dhoni
